Chapter 116
Chapter 116
A layer of sadness could be felt in the atmosphere. The pendant was the last piece of having Sheridan empowered to fight Charlotte.
Athena’s heart ached. She knew that Sheridan was upset with Nick then but did not think she would keep the pendant away because of that when it was from her.
“If you don’t find it, then everything would be in vain, and the pack would be at great risk. There is no duplicate for the pendant. It’s passed on from generation to generation, but I only harnessed the powers into the bracelet.”
There was an air of relief in the air with this assurance. Sheridan ascertained.
“If the powers are safe, then it shouldn’t be much trouble, right?”
Sheridan was still searching as she asked the question. She had not had time to unpack her things and had equally refused for the maids to do it for her due to how she liked to arrange her things.
“That is true, but the powers would not be used, only protecting her until she gets her wolf,” Athena explained, bringing back their mind to the need for the pendant.
She was certain that Sheridan had it somewhere. They had to find it by all means.
“Oh no,” Sheridan was disturbed.
Athena tried to calm her by even helping her check her closet. With her luggage unpacked, it was more difficult than they imagined.
“Take your time and find it. I will go rest,” Athena finally said from exhaustion, but somehow, Sheridan felt that if she was unable to find it now, she might not be able to find it at all.
“No. I have to find it out. What if Charlotte attacks? What would I do? She has powers, so how can I fight her without any? Nick, this was all your fault. You have to help me.”
Alpha Nick was ready to help but did not know how to do so. This was his first time sharing his room with any woman, so he lacked knowledge in even helping her to unpack her things.
Afraid of offending her, he remarked. “Sure, but where do I search from here? Your things are well arranged, so I can’t tell where either of your items are.”. Alpha Nick felt hopeless, as he hated disorganizing things.
Sheridan was trying to remember the last time she picked up the pendant. “Don’t worry. I remember picking it up when I was packing because I wanted to wear it before meeting ma’am.”
It suddenly clicked where she likely kept it. “Oh, it should be in the handbag I came with.”
She went in search of the handbag in question, and warmth returned to her voice when she found and lifted the pendant. “Here, I got it”
A relief sigh escaped Athena. She took it and said something neither Alpha Nick nor Sheridan could make out.
The pendant glowed for the first time Sheridan ever saw it before Athena returned it to her. “Make sure you wear it all the time. It would help you a great deal. Good night.”
Sheridan instantly draped the pendant over her neck, determined to never remove nor lose it ever again.
Good thing she and Alpha Nick got back together.
As soon as Athena left, Sheridan was pinned on the bed. Nick could not have enough of her.
“Now, we have to finish what we started,” Nick purred. Sheridan giggled but was tired.
However, she could not refuse him. Her only hope was for him to be fast through it all. “You said training has to be early. You have to be fast”
Alpha Nick stiffened instantly, not knowing how to rush through such a magical moment. “That would mean bypassing foreplay. I’m not so vile. Sleep” He wrapped his arms around her and spoke.
Very soon, everything would be over, and he would be able to satisfy his beastly erotic desires. For now, he would just enjoy holding her in his arms as they sleep through the night,
Early in the morning, the training room was filled to capacity. Alpha Ansaldo and Bree were there.
Arnold was also ready to leave after seeing that Sheridan was indeed fine as Athena promised. Sheridan hugged her brother tightly. “I will miss you, Arnold.”
Arnold squinted a little and teased her. “I don’t think I would miss you so much after all I’ve seen. You are in safe hands, and everybody loves you, Goldie is also here.”
Goldie had decided to stay a few months at the pack before finding her mate, so she had already come prepared.
Dustin shook Arnold’s hand and said to him. “Alpha Arnold, please tell Goldie’s parents that I would come to pay my respects when everything calms at the pack.”
No one could explain how happy he was to see his sister and cousin so happy. He replied to Beta Dustin. “Don’t worry. They would be happy she found her mate after waiting for so long.” Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Arnold hugged Alpha Nick, Dustin, Goldie, Athena, Tedmond, Bree, and Alpha Ansaldo before sitting in his car and driving away.
He could not wait to download all that he had to say to his father and the old beta upon his return to the Moonshine pack.
During training, Alpha Nick was all smiles as he began to inform his excited pack members about all the changes that had taken place.
It was the first time he addressed the pack with so much happiness that nothing could wipe it away. Also, he had Sheridan by his side.
It was unlike how he used to push Charlotte to the side when it was time for training. His voice was laced with pride.
“Our Luna is back, but we shall be having a formal wedding and coronation to properly welcome her.”
Sheridan quickly tightened her fingers around his, and he instantly lowered his ears to her level as she whispered. “No need for a wedding. It’s no longer a contract,” she reminded him,
Alpha Nick kissed her on the forehead, earning cheers from the pack warriors before he pulled away and said to them.
“Our Luna says the coronation is enough, so there shall be no wedding. Bree has also found her mate, and that is Alpha Ansaldo,”
The cheers suddenly calmed, and they began to murmur to Alpha Nick’s hearing. “So Bree is leaving us?”
Alpha Nick thought they should rather be happy. “Fortunately, yes, but you have your Luna.”
The mood suddenly changed to a joyful one. “Yes, we have our
Alpha Ansaldo suddenly received a call, and after ending it, he spoke apologetically. “Alpha Nick, there are guests waiting for me at the pack. I’m afraid we have to leave but would invite you to our coronation.”
“I have to go and inform my mom,” Bree said and ran off.
She entered her mother’s room without knocking, surprised by what was happening
