“F*ck,” Alpha Ansaldo cursed under his breath. Though he felt that Alpha Nick should know about it, his reaction was completely out of the question, and right now, he looked so ghastly that it was better to lay the matter to
rest.
“Alpha Nick…” Alpha Ansaldo was about to say when a low but stern voice cut in.
“Let me handle it,” Sheridan intervened. Knowing Alpha Nick’s temper, the only person he would not try to hurt
and would rather be lenient with was her.
It was a fact that the matter had been buried under the carpet for a long time. It was time to let it out for all
secrets to die once and for all.
“It’s about that night at the gala awards. He was the one who drugged us.”
Her voice shook a little when she met Alpha Nick’s cold glare, but her body was no longer the same as before.
Her knees were already giving in, but this matter had to be resolved then and there.
She ensured to stand in front of Alpha Nick to prevent him from throwing a punch, and just as expected, his fingers balled into fists. As a man, he already discerned Alpha Ansaldo’s intentions
back then,
“You? You were planning to sleep with her, weren’t you?” The thought of how vulnerable he and Sheridan were that night disturbed him greatly.

it?”
He pieced Alpha Ansaldo’s intention together, ready to beat the hell out of him for trying something so dirty.
Alpha Ansaldo felt ashamed but admitted it. “I’m sorry, but I was so desperate, thinking I would not be able to find my mate.”
Alpha Nick tried to move around Sheridan, but she held him back. “Please don’t throw a punch. Something good came out of that night, and you know it,” she glared at him. Alpha Nick noticed she was shaking and grew
disturbed.
“What are you talking about?” Alpha Ansaldo asked curiously.
“It’s not your business. Just leave,” Alpha Nick pulled Sheridan into his arms as he addressed Alpha Ansaldo.
Something was happening to Sheridan that he could not quite put a finger on.
“You know you’ll be sacking me too, right?” Bree walked in from behind and wrapped her arms around Alpha Ansaldo’s waist. Then she stared pleadingly at her brother.
“Everyone makes mistakes, Nick. This is in the past, and you have Sheridan. Alpha Ansaldo now has an equal right to this pack, just like me.”
Alpha Nick was surprised at how his sister matured overnight, but then he saw the mark on her neck. It seemed a lot of people were busy in the pack house.
Also, everything she said was the truth. For as long as they were mates, Bree had equal rights to Alpha Ansaldo’s pack, the same way he did for hers.
From the look of things, Alpha Nick would have to postpone training to early tomorrow morning since it was past midday, and just a handful of omegas and other pack members were awake.
“Things could have gone wrong. Someone else could have drunk it,” Alpha Nick explained to Bree
“But that did not happen,” Bree argued in defense of her mate, staring apologetically at her brother. Alpha Nick knew she had a point.
It turned out to be a beautiful night where Daisy was conceived. He might not be able to remember, but it was still very special to him because of what they both got from it.
“Alright, it’s forgotten. No fights,” Alpha Nick gave up. Sheridan smiled in his arms as Alpha Ansaldo said,
“Thank you, Alpha Nick.”
Alpha Nick frowned a little at the sound of his voice. “You are lucky you got mated to my only sister.”
Alpha Ansaldo smiled proudly but did not respond. Alpha Nick’s attention was drawn to the woman in his arms. She was already burning up. “Sherry. Are you alright?”
“I need something cold,” Sheridan’s voice came out almost as a whisper. Alpha Nick was disturbed but recalled
how she ate so much ice cream last night.
“Like ice cream or cold water?” He asked seriously. She replied in the same soft tone.
“Chilled water.”
Alpha Nick was about to carry her to the fridge when Bree beat him to it. “I’ll get it for you. You can rest. I will bring the water and breakfast.”
“Water alone is okay,” Sheridan replied weakly before saying to Alpha Nick, “Please let’s go.”
Everyone thought she was just tired from the mark. Most she–wolves reacted that way, especially when marked
by a strong Alpha.
All they needed was a good rest. Bree got the cold water first, and Alpha Nick fed it to her before asking again.
“Sherry, are you alright?” He noticed the changes in her eye color.
“Nick, I feel strange,” Sheridan said honestly. Alpha Nick felt that his mother would have some answers. The problem might be because of him.
Alpha Nick’s hands slipped under her thighs, and she was lifted into his arms, bridal style. As he was headed to the bedroom, he bumped into Arnold.
“What is wrong with
head at how protec Arnold was disturbed, ready to snatch Sheridan from his arms. Alpha Nick shook his
head at how protective Arnold was of his sister.
“She’s just tired from being marked,” he explained calmly, but Arnold had equally marked his mate and never experienced anything like this.
“I don’t think so.”
“Then you can wait until she recovers,” Alpha Nick suggested, not ready to argue with him and adding,
“The Alpha King can take care of your pack in your absence, or six of your brothers can go ahead.”
Arnold thought about the suggestion. He could stay longer to ensure Sheridan’s well–being while his six brothers return to help their father in taking care of the pack. “That isn’t bad.”
“If they are going, then I’m going with them,” Athena appeared on top of the stairs and said seriously. Alpha Nick

was perplexed.
“Why, mom?”
Athena was not joking this time. Sheridan had asked for time, but with Charlotte alive, time was not a luxury. “It’s important that I see my grandchild, or Sheridan would not be well.”
