Chapter 49: In Heat 

Peter's POV:

Our week-long honeymoon had sadly come to an end.Even just thinking of the sex Serena and I had had during these days was already enough to make me feel alive.

We used our time alone to try all the different sex positions.It was good that we tried something new.

Sex could get boring, so we would definitely need to switch it up from time to time.

Sex was an art, something that needed to be done with imagination.

When we returned to Red Maple, we immediately noticed that Alvin and Tessa’s relationship had made rapid progress while we were away.

The two of them looked intimate.

Even if I was just gone for a few days, a lot of work had piled up for me to finish.

I spent the next week holed up in my office, dealing with the matters of the pack and the company.

My mother was excited to teach Serena about Luna's duties, but I told her not to rush Serena yet.

I thought Serena deserved a few more days off to rest before diving into work.

Alvin mentioned that he had found the location of the lab for the hybrid experiments.

Alexander had purchased a big lot in Texas and set it up there.

After I finished with my work, I planned to ask Alvin more about it.

Bang, bang, bang! Loud knocks came from my door.

Before I could even answer, the door was already pushed open.

Anita walked into the room, panting.

"Alpha, it's Luna.She's in danger."

I got up immediately and followed her out.

Anita told me that something was going on at the pack’'s gym.

I sped up my pace.

By the time we had arrived, lots of people stood outside.

I heard howls coming from the wolves inside.

The bystanders immediately made way when they saw me.

There was a wolf with black and white fur, which I guessed was Tessa.

And then there was a plain white wolf, which was Serena.

I had counted about twenty male wolves surrounding the two of them.

Each wolf drooled and stared in lust.

Their wolf penises were all erect.

Clearly, these male wolves didn't have mates yet.

They were also in heat, which made them more excited.

I transformed into Nate and ran to Serena's side.

"Serena, what happened?"

"We were exercising in the gym when suddenly these male wolves started to surround us.I ordered them all to go away, but to no avail.You try driving them away.Maybe the Alpha can make them rational."

"Retreat, all of you! Get out!"

I let out my Alpha roar.

However, my Alpha roar only caused them to step back for a second before they went back to surrounding us again.

They had lost their minds because of their strong desires.

Nevertheless, it was still very strange that they would still disobey my orders.

Perhaps there was more to this situation than I thought.

"What should we do, Alpha?"

Anita transformed into a wolf and ran to our side, too.

Several wolves looked like they were ready to attack.

I used my intimidating stance, revealing my fangs and trying to scare them away.

It didn't work on them at all.

But I couldn't hurt these members of the pack, unless it was completely necessary.

This would be tricky if they started to attack us together.

I saw Serena transform back into human form.

She was going to be naked, which would make her more attractive.

Fortunately, she had covered herself up just in time.

One wolf who could no longer control himself finally took the opportunity to pounce on his target.

With a wave of Serena's finger, she willed the wolf to fly in the other direction and dropped him to the ground.

It was a good thing that Serena acted quickly, so the bystanders would not have noticed.

"Serena, do not use her powers on the pack members." I mind-linked her.

It would be more complicated if we brought any superpowers in.

Many people were watching and it just wasn't the right time to expose Serena's identity as a hybrid.

Also, if Serena would ever lose control and accidentally kill these wolves, I would not be able to explain myself to the elders.

Another wolf looked ready to pounce on us again.

These werewolves had become complete savages, willing to risk their lives in exchange for their desires.

I ran over before the wolf could land on us, throwing him out with my claws.I withheld from using my full strength, for fear of hurting him too much.

"There're too many people here.We can lead these wolves to the infirmary.There are tranquilizers in there."

I mind-linked Serena.

Serena nodded and transformed back into a wolf.

I roared at the bystanders by the gym's exit.

Everyone stepped aside as quickly as they could.

Serena, Anita, Tessa and I exited the room.

Together, we rushed to the infirmary, with the crazy male wolves hot on our heels.

The next difficult task was tranquilizing all the wolves as soon as possible.

Fortunately, Serena was able to control the wolves for a while and held them still for the tranquilizing.

Soon enough, they had all finally passed out.

"Alpha, I'm here.What happened?"

Alvin came into the infirmary, out of breath.

"A big group of male wolves went crazy.We just finished tranquilizing all of them."

After a while, I ordered the guards to lock up these wolves in the prison for now.

Anita, Serena, and I went back to the gym to investigate the scene.

I asked for the surveillance video from the staff that was on duty.

The elders and my parents had also come once they heard.

Watching the behavior of the wolves earlier on the video, everyone was shocked.

"But it can't be...Even though male wolves are in heat, they do not lose the ability to still obey Alpha." Steve shook his head in confusion.

"Do you think they might have been stimulated by something? Perhaps we can have Doctor Edwin check up on them."

My father stared at the screen analytically.

"Something's been going on in the pack recently.I suspect that someone is playing tricks on Red Maple Pack," Steve hypothesized.

"Well, it was fortunate that Tessa and Luna were powerful enough.I could not even imagine what would happen if it were someone else..." Anita's voice trailed off in fear.

"Anita, can you tell us more details about the events that led up to this?"

"Luna, Tessa, and I were just doing yoga in the gym.Right after, a male wolf barged into the gym, looking at us with lust.Luna tried to scold and drive him away, but more and more wolves came in.It was impossible to manage.We were left with no choice but to leave, only to find that more men had been waiting outside the yoga room.At first, they seemed harmless and just stared greedily.But then, they all started to transform into wolves.The three of us had to transform into wolves, too, for the sake of our protection.Luna tried again to order them to retreat, but it seemed that they did not want to listen at all.This was a serious situation, so I took an opportunity to break off from the group to find help."

"Did you notice anything wrong with the werewolves before they transformed?"

I stared at the faces of the men on the screen.

"No, they didn't look too unusual."

"Aaron, sir.May I ask why I'm here? What did I do, Alpha?"

The werewolf had a confused look on his face.

David held up his phone and played the footage of what happened in the gymnasium earlier.

"That's what you did.You were disobeying Alpha’s orders," David snapped at Aaron.

Aaron looked terrified, like he had seen a ghost.

"But...how could this be? What happened there? Why don't I remember any of it at all? I only remember working out inside the gym.And then, someone invited us over to drink some cola.And then...I don't remember anything after that.Alpha, please believe me.I have no idea what happened in that video."
