Suddenly, the wailing Kai yelped when his grandmother caught his Adam’s Apple between her fingers and warned, “You make one more noise, pup and I will hand over your voice box to you in your hand, understand ?”, she chided him like a child.

Kai nodded meekly and took a huge gulp after she finally released him.

“Will miss you”, I heard him say with yearning and my heart melted at that but I refrained myself from pulling him back to me and messing up with the royal traditions.

Mates were not supposed to meet or see each other before the royal wedding to avoid bad luck and with the auspicious date of royal coronation announced to be the same evening as that of the day wedding, preparations were happening for the two ceremonies at a lightening pace.
