Kai’s POV

The whole tribe seemed to be witnessing a familiar, hilarious scene early in the morning as a furious Tribal Queen dragged out a wailing Dominic by his ear and kicked him out of the tribe boundary.

“You harass my son again and I will hang you up the tallest tree for the whole night”, she scolded after a butt hurt (literally) Dominic ran for his life.

No matter how powerful you were, even if you were the Vampire King, no one could escape their mother’s clutches.

Bella’s POV

On my behest, Dominic agreed to let me go late for Kai’s class but on the condition that he shall go with me too, meaning Kai had two people to punish now.

Desperate times called for desperate measures and I did it to get Kai’s attention or make him talk to me, even if it was to scold or punish me.

However, Kai just threw a stinky eye our way- not even making eye contact with me, when he noticed us at the door. He did not say a single word and instead kept writing on the board unfazed.

I understood the Beta’s situation after Dominic filled me in but I still believed that Kai was being unreasonable and headstrong.

However, I felt a lot better after Dominic told me the truth and it was like a huge weight had lifted off my chest.

I had brooded for so long, thinking that Kai was the most unreasonable asshat (I still did but with lesser intensity this time) I had ever known and I was the worst person to handle the situation hopelessly but now I saw a glimmer of hope for the both of us.

But we needed to talk !

We had to make things right.

Dominic’s POV

“What did you think ?”, Kai’s eyes twinkled when he showed me the expensive amulet he had bought for the Tribal Queen, whom he couldn’t stop calling “Mom” fondly with a childlike innocence that drew me involuntarily closer to him.

It always made me want to nip that soft, baby skin of his and lick away the burn.

Hence, not able to hold back myself anymore, I pulled him close to me by his collar and smashed my lips on his in a heated kiss.

When I finally pulled back to gaze into his eyes, he looked at me in shock before looking left and right to make sure no one saw us kissing in the the gym locker and then pushed me away.

“Hey ! What was that for ?”, he asked before biting on his lower lip.

Aww it was so easy to turn the confident as fuck prof into a flustered, cute pup by just one kiss !!

I lightly chuckled and answered, “For being so fucking sexy. I nearly lose my mind every time I hear you speak in class”, I teased and got the desired effect as a raging red blush clawed up his face.

“Idiot !”, Kai lightly punched my chest before heading for the exit.

However, I yanked him back and kissed him deep and quick once more before deciding to stop teasing the professor when I remembered the Tribal Queen’s warning about his mood swings.

I did not want to test his limits and get rejected too, afterall but he was so hard to resist.

Kai’s POV

“We need to talk, Kai”, the Dean said as I got out of the locker room in time and headed towards the block where all staff rooms were.

“Sure Ma’am. My room ?”, I asked the woman who took care of me all these years in the human world.

“Yes. Lead the way”, she instructed.

Woah ! She looked like a woman on a mission.

As soon as I keyed in my key in the lock and opened it a bit, I saw Bella filing her nails in my chair with her feet on the desk.

After the quick peek and shutting close the door quickly, I faced the Dean.

“Umm how about we talk in your roo- …. “, I started to suggest, only to be turned down immediately.

“Nonsense, Kai ! Open the door !! Are you hiding something ?”, she asked. Call them mother or grandmother instincts but she always seemed to be knowing a lot about me.

Ughh.

“No Ma’am. I just- …. “, I tried to negotiate again but the lady of authority did not seem to be in the mood to listen to me.

“Good. Let’s go then”, she commanded and pushed open the door.

I mentally prayed to all human and supernatural gods and goddesses I knew to help me, and dared to step inside my own room somehow.

The Dean was settled in a chair opposite to mine while mine was sitting vacant as if Bella had not been sitting there moments back.

I saw that the window to the room was wide open and assumed that Bella had left for good.

So I confidently sat in my chair and began my meeting with the Dean.
