Kai’s POV

“HEY THERE, GORGEOUS”, she mocked at me as she looked down at my mid-step dangling figure while I ran a thousand escape options through my head.

I was alone- dead alone on the 7th fucking floor in the dim lit, unfrequented emergency staircase with a supernatural- a Lycan, that too an Alpha in front of me, who could tear my Lycan-less body apart if she wanted to in seconds.

How the fuck was I going to escape the powerful, royal breed’s clutches ?

So I came up with the “best” plan (Kindly note the sarcasm) that came up in my mind at that time !

And that was to ….

Drum rolls please.

Just one word- RUN !!

“Hey there, stranger. Just saw you there. Nice to meet you. Okay ! Gotta go. Bye !!”, I hurriedly said and dashed down the stairs only to survive till the 5th fucking floor and then go crashing against a wall.

For a proud strategist and sharp administrator, I really did come up with the stupidest plan possible.

What was I even thinking when I thought that I could outrun my ex-mate.

Ughh !

At that moment, one could safely say that I was tired of getting fucked in ways that didn’t end in an orgasm.

“Stranger, huh ? That’s pretty low even for you, Kai”, Bella rasped as she caged me between her hands and legs while nuzzling her lips in the crook of my neck and harshly tweaking my n*pples between her fingers.

I tried to suppress the moans threatening to support the cause of the Alpha Lycan over me but a few traitorous ones still managed to escape, making Bella smirk victoriously as she looked back at me.

“Hmm. Seems like I still have an effect on someone and that someone seems to be enjoying but I came here to punish you, babe. You did not even bat an eye for replacing me with that receptionist slut”, she c*cked her head to one side while studying me but not stopping her fingers from harshly tugging on my sensitive nips.

“Hmm ah !”, I moaned as I arched back my neck when she suddenly bit on my neck minus the fangs. “It is none of your business !!”, I gritted out somehow only making her stop from licking the stinging, bitten spot and flash her fury ridden Lycan eyes at me instead.

“Not my business, huh ?”, she narrowed her eyes at me while daring me to repeat which I cheekily did.

“Yes. None of your fucking business !”, I cursed.

“Fine !!”, she spat out and soon enough, plump, angry lips were punishing my mewling, protesting ones.

If this would have happened before, I would have whole heartedly reciprocated the sensual touches and done more but I felt bile threatening to come out in disgust and tried to push away the Lycan over me.

It was getting too much !

My lips had started to hurt and I couldn’t breathe !!

I knocked at her shoulders with my fist and struggled under her hold as she furiously marked my lips with her anger stamped kisses while roughly twerking my pink chest buttons and frantically rubbing our cores together.

She was going crazy mad at me !!

“This is exactly what got us to the Disciplinary Board’s notice in the first place !”, I furiously lashed out, breathlessly when Bella finally let herself get pushed away by me. “Just leave me the fuck alone ! This physical contact is non consensual and I don’t want to be involved with a student any more. So get the fuck away from me !!”, I screamed and did not realize that tears had already sprung up in my eyes until a drop fell down, making her eyes widen in shock.

However, instead of bothering even a tiny bit about what I said, she exclaimed, “Why can’t I feel your Lycan ?! Did you give up your Beta title too ?”, she misinterpreted my Lycan-less situation. “Is that why Snow and I can not mindlink you and not feel your essence or aura any more ?”, she asked, her voice turning sharper and angrier by every word.

When I chose to stay silent, not wanting to let the cat out of the bag, insane amount of fury surged over her, especially when she thought that I had given up my title willingly and severed all kinds of ties with her.

Hence, the Alpha Lycan in her blasted with tempestuous anger and without warning pushed me hard against the wall before leaving me there to bleed as my head smashed against the sharp end of the spiralling staircase’s railing during the rebound.

She must have thought that my Lycan would heal it soon and if it were there, such a kind of injury would have hardly hurt me. However, I was just a mere human now and had no healing powers or pain absorbing abilities to my name.

Hence, my whole world swirled around as I fell down and with no choice whatsoever, I contended myself to blissful sleep to die alone and get rid of all the pain in this world.

Hate and the thirst for revenge had helped me thrive in this world but love was the cause that led to my death.

How ironical ! I thought and inwardly chuckled to sleep- the darkest of dark sleep.

Bella’s POV

“Good Morning, Ms Diaz. I apologize for the delay. I hope you were not troubled because of it ?”, the Director formally asked as he rushed inside the room while unbuttoning his blazer’s middle button open and taking a seat at the helm of the panel quickly.

“Good Morning, Mr Director. It was no problem to wait”, I politely answered back as I stood up and waited for the entire panel to settle down before they gave me permission to do the same after various exchanges of introductions and greetings.

“Please Ms Diaz. Take a seat”, the dapper suited Director said before putting on his golden rimmed glasses and going through the allegation report with a quick scan.

“The report says that there are two people involved and the receptionist (god, I hated that “gorgeous” bitch ! I was so close to clawing her face when I heard her flirting with my man !!) said that the both of you had already reached this place an hour back. Where is Mr – uh …. (he looked at the paper and then said) …. Mr Kai Grayson ?”, he asked as he looked up at me.

“I am not sure why he isn’t in this room yet, Sir”, I truthfully answered. Snow just shoved him away- ok, ok, shoved him away hard towards the wall but he should have healed and come up here ages ago ! “He did register at the front desk (with the “gorgeous” woman, * internally snickers * and got her fucking number tattooed on his arm * snickers again * ) however and made his way towards the elevator area”, I added.

“Send the security team to find him in the building if he has not exited the place yet”, the Director ordered his assistant who was quick to stand on his twos and place back his notes and bag.

“Yes Sir !”, the assistant said before clicking around his heels and rushing out to carry his Dragonian boss’s order while the said boss turned towards me and started playing ‘Rapid Fire with the Devil’ with me.

I internally cursed Kai in my head for not being there so that our stories did not clash and making me face all the fire in the “Rapid Fire” round of questions.

Kai and I had not even discussed what we would say about the incident and explain the leaked pictures and video !!

We were so fucked now.

It seemed like I had to ask Dominic to mindlink all my answers to Kai so that our stories matched when he came up.

“Hey beautiful ! How is it going on there ?”, Dominic asked through the mate link when I tried to reach him.

Was he nearby already ?

“Not so good. Kai is not here and I want you to dictate all my answers to him”, I replied.

“Oh ok !!”, he agreed.

“Where are you and why am I able to mindlink you so easily without using the mate link ?”, I asked.

“I am waiting for you in the parking lot”, Dominic sheepishly murmured. “It is not because I wanted to break my promise to you that I would not come for you. I came here for myself coz Cassy kinda jumped the gun, kissed me and filmed our video while her tongue was cannoning her filthy germs in my mouth”, he quickly cleared the air.

What was up with all the women today ?

I left my mates for one fucking day away from me and they were already preyed upon by a hoard of fucking she vultures.

Ughh.

“Oh ok. I will meet you at the parking lot then”, I said.

“Sure !! And where is Kai ? Why is he not there with you ?”, Dominic asked.

“I am not sure why- … uh wait a sec. The assistant came back. Talk to you later !!”, I quickly said before cutting off the link.

” …. doctor said – bleeding near the staircase – heartbeat still there but very weak – unconscious”, I heard the assistant whisper in the Director’s ear and my head throbbed on coming to the conclusion that I was the culprit for this disaster. Fuck ! I hurt him !!

“Is he alright now ?”, the Director asked loudly for everyone to hear. I would have heard his whispers too in any case.

“Yes Sir ! I am fine”, came a familiar, deep voice as the doors flung open and the charismatic professor walked in. “I am lucky that the janitor found me in time and called this building’s clinic doctor on an emergency basis to bandage my head”, Kai replied before stepping ahead and confidently giving a firm handshake to the entire panel.

I could tell that the Director’s wife already liked him from the flirtatious look she gave and the stench of arousal following suit, and it took everything in me to subdue the Lycan in me from throttling her on the spot.

“I am sorry this happened to you”, the oblivious Director said after asking Kai to take a seat and settling down himself. “How did it happen ?”, he did not waste time in asking.

God, let the man breathe ! I thought silently.

Although I was the cause for the man’s bandages and blood stained shirt.

So it was better if I kept my judgement reserved to myself.

He had looked so sexy in his crisp, white shirt when I had seen him the first time today- when he hid in his car (the pup actually thought I did not sense him, how kewt) and then walked towards the building in smart, confident strides after he thought I was gone.

“Someone attacked me from behind and said something about being the mastermind behind the engineered video leak”, Kai replied and to say that I was mighty impressed was a gross understatement.

He hit two birds with one stone !

He evaded pouring out the accident’s details, including ratting me out and provided the right amount of fodder for the panel to think about external bullying and the possibility of video engineering !!

“What were you doing at the fire escape staircase in the first place ?”, the annoying, questioning devil- the Director asked. What is he ? A detective ? Pfft.

“No, the Director of the much feared Disciplinary Board of Universities. Ofcourse he would interrogate to the very depths”, Snow answered through the mindlink. “It is his fucking job afterall”, she added with sass. “How else do you think does he pay the bills for his dolled up, slutty wife ?”, she sarcastically asked.

“Thank you for the answer, Sherlock and for the sarcasm, especially when Kai is covering up YOUR mess”, I internally rolled my eyes with a scoff.

“It is not my fault that the wimpy puss did not heal !!”, Snow argued back, getting all defensive. “But why did he not heal ?”, she suddenly added thoughtfully.

Yeah, why did he not heal ? I thought as I looked by my side at the answering professor.

“I started feeling claustrophobic on thinking about going in the glass elevator till the 25th floor, Sir. So I searched for a staircase instead and thought that with time in hand, I would climb it slowly while calming myself”, Kai answered back pat.

“Or to evade us ?”, Snow snickered. Gosh ! Someone was angry enough for the both of us.

“I see”, the Director said while nodding his head and noted something down in his diary.

“Mr Grayson, I have only one question for you”, the Director’s wife said in her sweetest voice possible, making even the Director look up at her in surprise. “You all can go after answering it”, she added making her husband frown but then quickly avert his gaze down towards her expensive pearls when she narrowed her eyes at him.

“Coward !”, Snow exclaimed in my mind.

“Snow ! Stop it !!”, I admonished the fiery tempered Lycan.

“What ?! Look at the henpecked husband !!”, Snow replied back. This Lycan. Ughh !

“You just wish that Kai was like that”, I rolled my eyes and then stilled. “You are not thinking about it, are you ?”, I hurriedly asked.

“Marking the p*ssy wolf as ours again and then keep him on the leash ? Sure, why not ?”, she humored.

“Just shut up for some time and let me concentrate on the meeting”, I irately answered back and blocked the frustrated Alpha Lycan before the spitfire spat out some more venom.

“Yes Ma’am ?”, Kai respectfully urged Mrs Director to ask him the question of the day.

“No Ma’am !”, he replied back pat in a heartbeat, making Snow whimper woefully in my head.

“It is the truth, Ma’am. The truth machine says so too !”, the assistant sitting behind us butt in and the lady smiled. Now that I noticed, Kai was wired !

How did he survive the entire questioning session ?!

“Good ! You two can go now. We will send back a report to your university and call you back if we need something. Till then we will investigate the matter further and even probe and interrogate your friends, colleagues and other relevant staff. Thank you for your time ! Goodbye”, she said with a smile towards Kai before slipping a 10 fucking digit mobile number in the file that she handed him out with a wink.

What the fucking hell ?!

“I can’t reach Kai, Bella. Neither the mindlink nor the mate link is working between us”, Dominic’s voice floated in, at the same time.
