Teacher’s Student Mate

Kai’s POV

Patience had not been my greatest ally lately when I had rejected my mate and Alpha whom I had sworn to protect no matter what.

But only I knew how pissed off and betrayed I felt at my former mate’s antics.

I was tired of people not understanding me.

However, I still missed her ….

The tribal King and his subjects were kind enough to look after me and tend to my injuries after he had found me in the worst possible state.

Thankfully, he had understood the value of the clothes I was clinging to with my dear life and had let me keep them with me for the complete stay at his place, as it is- no one tried to convince me to put them in the laundry after I refused them once.

However, the whole night my eyes turned into the Niagara fucking Falls and my agony filled howls filled the quiet in my room.

At one point I must have woken up the tribal King and half of the tribe because when I had clung to my clothes filled with Bella’s scent the whole night and had a hard time believing that I could not hold my lithe princess in my arms again, the tribal King had camped beside my gigantic bed in a humble cot and helped me sleep as if I was his son and a little kid !

“Sometimes it is better to let things go”, he quietly said after we both stayed awake for a while and I tried to hold back my sniffs but failed miserably at the end after silently crying for a while.

“Which things ?”, I hiccuped before using the back of my hand to wipe away my tears.

All adult fucking shit and pride aside, I cast away the blanket off me, bunched it in my hand from one side like a kid and went to Dominic’s foster father’s cot to sleep with him.

The father figure was quick to make space for me beside him and chuckled as I pushed my back towards his mighty large and built chest and snuggled in his hold.

He spooned me from behind and patted my head gently so that my eyes were already feeling heavy and lulling me to sleep.

“Things like relationships and the problems that come with it, Kai”, he finally answered my question. “You can either talk your way out of it or you can think your way out of it”, he asked me to spill out my woes in a caring, parental way.

“I miss her although I am still angry at her”, I confessed. “Very, very, very angry”, I emphasized.

“Ofcourse you are, son”, he said in his warm, soothing voice. “You would not reject someone you love just for the fun of it. I don’t know the real reason behind it but I do know this that you must have felt really hurt to resort to such an extreme step. However, I would suggest that you guys take a break for a while to gorge on your actions and see if you can come back stronger. But for now you just need some space from each other to think and understand your own needs and the other’s”, he advised and his pearls of wisdom made sense with my own situation.

“You seem to understand my situation quite well”, I commented before wiping away another tear from my cheek.

“Let us just say that I did the exact same thing with the Queen of this tribe”, he chuckled. “And now we are close to celebrating our 50th anniversary together !”, he added.

“You rejected her ? But you two look so much in love with each other. It is hard to believe that you even fought with her !!”, I exclaimed making the Tribal King laugh.

“As I said before, every relationship goes through a rough patch once in a while. Sometimes you just need each other more than ever and sometimes you just need a break from each other. Don’t get me wrong. Rejecting a mate hurts- hurts so fucking bad and can be scarring too but the only silver lining to this ordeal is to see if you can stay without each other without the mate bond affecting you or not. You will know the right answer when the time comes, Kai”, he assured me.

“I just don’t want my mates to think that I stopped loving them during my period away from them”, I woefully murmured.

“Love is not about the butterflies that you feel in your stomach when you are near your mate or the sparks that shoot a desire within you to stay around your lover all the time. Love is the adamant feeling of holding on to your loved one no matter what. You might be keeping them at a distance from you but you are still holding on to the end of the rope, enough to just keep them near you. Time will heal everything, child. I am not asking you to correct the wrong right now. You need to pull yourself together and be extremely sure of your decision before you take the next step- whether it is to reject permanently or go back to them. The decision is yours but remember that you are staying with the tribe here till then. I shall be going to the coven and looking into its matters as the university opens for all the teens but I want you to have a restful stay here till you make the final decision”, he ordered like a caring parent.

Not able to hold back any longer, I turned around to face him and hugged him tight after rolling to the other side.

“Thank you so much, Dad”, I choked out emotionally.

He chuckled and patted my back, “No need to thank me, son. You are a good boy. I know you will do the best thing possible soon. However, till then you need to sleep. Dominic told me you had a video accident and need to go to the capital to clear it up tomorrow. So enough with the heavy talk and let us try to get you to sleep, ok ?”, he gently cooed and I nodded in agreement before my eyelids got heavier by the second as he kept patting my head in soothing strokes.

Soon enough, I was enveloped in darkness, amidst my newfound father’s comforting embrace even though I still craved for my mates’ touch.

However, father was right.

I needed to sort out my feelings, needs and desires away from them.

They too needed to understand that they could not blatantly reject my views and emotions without even considering them, especially when I was so sensitive to particular topics.

I wanted to carry our pups. Period.

Ryan’s POV

Our cool clique managed to turn almost all heads towards our direction, especially with the new student- the exotic looking, pregnant boy, Zeke fucking glowing in all his glory and Dominic’s first appearance to the university after the unfortunate incident of the video leak of his mates.

He kept his shades on to hide the dark circles under his eyes and the stress lines forming a frown on his forehead.

His mates were in the middle of a stormy phase in their love life and Bella had been adamant to show up to the University National Board’s place at the capital alone with no bodyguards whatsoever, inspite of Dominic’s repeated pleading.

Bella had lost a ton of weight in just one day and her eyes could not stop watering whenever she came back to consciousness.

Dominic had asked Tyra to drop off Bella to the building atleast as she was not in the state to drive herself.

Bella had reluctantly agreed to that but made Tyra promise that she would not wait on her.

Kai, on the other hand, had fled away to God knows where and Dominic had not commented about his whereabouts nor worried about them.

Maybe he knew that the Beta Lycan was safe and sound.

Coming to the present, the students could not stop themselves from ogling the famous Dominic Kent and with the blazing news that he was “single” again, many girls could not stop themselves from throwing themselves at him.

Amidst the stench of freaking arousal everywhere we went, one bitch named Cassy even had the audacity to try to kiss him !!

While Dominic tackled the situation of the annoying female pest in his own way, I was quick to wrap my arms around my glowing mate possessively when I saw a group of slutty girls eye him and try to approach their new, hot target.

“Your mate is certainly going to have a list of girlfriends and boyfriends by the end of the day”, Max teased with a laugh and I was quick to smack the back of his head before parting away from the glaring Lycan.

“Hair ? Which part’s ?”, I teased before evading a smack on my arm and running away.
