“MATE !”

Hope threaded through me again when I sensed my mate’s presence in the cold and hard dungeons but my face fell when I saw who else had come.

Not wanting to give the fucking vampire king the satisfaction of seeing me subdued, I smirked at him to hide my own insecurities and welcomed him.

“Well hello there, Your Highness !”, I sarcastically chirped.

The young, powerful teen gave me the stinky eye in return and huffed, “Gawd, I already feel a headache coming on seeing you”, he rubbed his forehead.

To my horror, a dozen odd guards lined up in front of my prison cell and set their arrows in their bows with remarkable sync before directing the pointy heads towards me.

“Open the door !”, Dylan authoritatively ordered, and my heart skipped a beat when I heard his deep, calm voice.

Blame the mate bond or my dry spell but fuck ! The man’s voice sounded so velvety. It felt like I was enveloped in sex and it took all I had in me to shake my head and get my mind out of the love clouds looming over my head.

“With poisonous arrows directed towards your mate ?”, I asked, not bothering to hide my vehemence at this sign of disrespect.

“With no choice for me but to accept it ?”, I spat out while narrowing my eyes at him.

I did not trust him yet, ok ?!
