Chapter 71 Leona's punishment (Part One)
Chapter 71 Leona's punishment (Part One)
Terence blinked his eyes and said in a calm voice, "After her parents died on the same day, she was
not a happy little girl but an orphan. Do you know how miserable she has been?"
After listening to Terence, Spencer went taciturn. It was not until Terence patted him on the shoulder
that he pulled his hand away in anger and said, "Every time I meet you, you put in a good word for
Fiona. How good is she? Since you adore her so much, I will leave her to you."
Terence was astounded for a second. Then, he pursed his lips and snickered, but his smile
disappeared almost instantly. He soon pretended to be serious and said, "Okay."
"What?" asked Spencer. He was shocked after listening to what Terence had just said. He couldn't
believe his ears.
"Aren't you going to let me have Fiona? I accept your offer!" Terence said and raised his eyebrows.
"Fiona is a gorgeous, charming, and talented young woman. How can I ever find someone as
remarkable as her? You don't have to force yourself to love her. She will be cherished by others. Or, I
could give her to Ryan. He will certainly love her like she is the most precious treasure."
"No way!" Spencer answered immediately without thinking for even one second.
"It's too late to go back on your word," replied Terence.
"Who said I didn't want her?" Spencer glared at Terence, looking quite annoyed.
"Ha-ha." When Terence laughed, Spencer immediately noticed the mischief in his eyes and understood
what he was thinking. So, he hastily tried to explain, "I mean... I haven't settled my accounts with her Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
yet! Why would I let her go so soon? She wants to find Ryan? Well, I won't have it!"
"When will you let her go, Spencer? So I can have her," Terence replied in a tone of sarcasm.
"I..." Spencer was mortified. He sheepishly tried to mask his discomfiture with an even louder voice.
"Terence, you're so annoying! I've come here to have a drink with you, not to talk about Fiona or my
problems!" "Okay, let's drink!
What would you like to have?" asked Terence.
"I want tequila!" said Spencer enthusiastically.
Terence shook his head unwillingly. "Wait a moment. Actually, you can't drink here..."
"Fuck off!" Spencer replied. Finally, he persuaded Terence to get some alcohol.
Spencer loved drinking. Every time he drank, the smell of alcohol would fill the room. Taking a sip of
wine, Terence responded, "Don't just drink. You haven't told me what happened between you and
Fiona. Wasn't everything all right when you were in Maple Mountain? Actually, your love should have
blossomed after you saved her!"
'Love?' Spencer thought to himself. Sitting on the sofa, Spencer looked down, bleary-eyed. Then, he
snorted and roared, "I do not have feelings for her! I was pushed into this marriage because of
Grandpa! I want to torture her and make her life difficult! I want to bully her! But..."
After that, Spencer paused. A while later, he continued in a low and hoarse voice, "But when I heard
that she had fallen from the mountain, how could I not panic? It took me a lot of strength to not vent my
anger on Leona. And just now, Fiona said that she doesn't care about me. She doesn't care about
anyone except Grandpa. But I'm her husband!"
As he spoke, Spencer got more agitated. Terence sat on the couch and listened to him with a calm
expression.
"Why won't she listen to what I have to say? There was nothing between Celine and me. Nothing
happened. We didn't do anything, I swear!" As he finished what he was saying, Spencer gulped more
of the wine hastily and slammed the glass on the table. He was heavily inebriated. His body couldn't
handle the level of alcohol he had consumed and he lay on the couch, with his left arm resting on his
face to block the light.
"Don't you want to drink anymore?" asked Terence. "Fiona..."
Spencer mumbled. "Fiona is not here," replied Terence.
"Go to hell, Fiona!"
Spencer yelled.
"Then I will find someone to kill her!"
"I will kill you first, Terence!" Spencer roared back.
"You're drunk, Spencer," said Terence with a worried expression on his face.
"Fiona..."
"You like Fiona."
"I like her? No, I don't... Do I like her?" Spencer murmured. The grin on Terence's face grew wider and
wider. It looked like Spencer was finally admitting his real feelings for Fiona.
On Monday, a crowd of students were walking in from all directions toward the entrance of D University.
Fiona stood out even in such a huge group of people. She was spectacular. "Hi, Fiona!" Fiona turned
back to see who was calling her name.
It was Sophia, waving to her. She walked towards Fiona, taking long decisive steps towards her. "Why
are you alone, Fiona? Where is Spencer?" she asked. "He usually carries you around. I expected he
would be dropping you at school today."
"He..." Fiona paused. "Let's not talk about him." 'Spencer hasn't come back since he went out last
night. He should have returned home by now. I wonder what happened,' she thought to herself.
"He is a celebrity in our school now," said Sophia, pouting.
"Why?" Fiona was stupefied.
"Spencer is the hot news on our school forum right now. I wonder who posted the picture of him
carrying you in his arms on the internet. You know what, you're really popular now too. Now, the whole
school knows that you have a relationship with him. There are so many girls out there who envy you a
great deal. You'll have to watch your back now." Sophia sighed dreamily.
Hearing this, Fiona blushed before she turned pale. "What? How did that happen?"
"Actually, it will be okay. The school's hooked onto something bigger right now," Sophia said in a
mysterious and angry tone.
"What's the news?" asked Fiona curiously.
"It has something to do with Leona!" replied Sophia. Then, she asked with a serious look on her face,
"Why didn't you tell me that Leona pushed you down the mountain? I was so anxious that it completely
slipped my mind to ask you, but why didn't you tell me? If I had known about it earlier, I would have
skinned her alive!"
"Does anyone in the school know about this?" Fiona opened her mouth in utter shock.
"Yes, it was a hot topic on the forum. The news said that you guys had a conflict in the mountain and
she pushed you down by accident. Did Leona offend someone? Her scandals have been exposed,"
said Sophia.
"Anything else?" asked Fiona with a frown on her face. "There is one more thing," Sophia whispered in
her ear.
After thinking on it for a while, she shook her head and said, "Since everyone knows about this, I will
tell you about it. Leona used to work in a bar, and she slept around."
"What? With who?" Fiona asked, covering her mouth in shock.
"I don't know. The pictures are a little hazy," Sophia answered, shaking her head. "We can only see
Leona's face. The man next to her is a bald middle-aged man with a beer belly, but we can only see his
back. And there is also a tall, lean man holding her in his arms. Well, here, you can see for yourself!"
Sophia took out her phone, clicked on the webpage, and showed it to Fiona.
Fiona read the news, frowning. 'Leona went out with so many men. Who dug up all these secrets about
her?' she thought to herself.
"Fiona! Sophia!"
As Fiona and Sophia walked towards the building, they heard Ryan calling out to them from a distance.
He was walking towards them from his dorm with a book in his hand. The two girls greeted him back.
"Ryan!" Sophia waved her hand.
When Fiona saw Ryan, she was stunned and a slight hunch flashed through her mind. 'Was it Ryan
who leaked those things about Leona on the forum?' she thought to herself.
"How is your ankle, Fiona?" asked Ryan. His eyes were glued to Fiona.
"It's all right now." Fiona shook her head and smiled shyly. "It'll be completely healed soon. Thanks for
your concern, Ryan."
"Don't mention it," Ryan replied. There was a hint of bitterness lurking his smile, but it seemed like he
was doing all he could to restrain it. In fact, he wanted to ask something about Spencer, but he wasn't
sure if he could handle the answer to that.
