Chapter 30 Marrying for Gratitude
Chapter 30 Marrying for Gratitude
Lilian was surprised, and then she got angry. The man took every opportunity to take advantage of her. "What kind of gentleman would do that?"
She raised her hand to push him away, screaming, "Go to..."
Before she could say "hell" out, the man had already pressed his lips on hers. She was pressed in the couch. covered by the man's strong body. He controlled her struggling body, and the power was too overwhelming for her to resist.
He kissed her lips hard, and somehow angrily. She didn't understand, because she was supposed to be the one that was angry.
Her lips almost felt numb over the kiss. She frowned and wanted to tell him to go away, only to let out a weak groan. She totally lost her mind. The only thing she could feel was her face blushing.
His sturdy chest was close to her. There was no distance between them anymore. His body temperature passed to her over the shirt. She was too heated to catch a breath. Her hands, which were squeezing his shoulders, were sweating. She wanted to push her away, but she felt so frustrated.
His warm tongue pried her lips open and intruded in. She trembled and felt even her breath had been taken away by him. She was like a fish on a drying-out pond, dying for moistening.
When Lilian felt almost out of breath, he finally moved his lips away; however, while she was still panting and dazzling, trying to swear out, his lips stopped her again. He did it on and on, held her face in his hand, and looked into her eyes. His staring was scorching, and his voice was low. "You say one more word I don't like, I'll do that to stop you again. Understand?"
Lilian's chest moved up and down drastically because of panting. She looked at her with shimmering eyes, lips going rosy from his hard kiss.
All Lilian wanted to say now was that she was running out of strength. She was almost suffocated and could only pant desperately to relieve the dizziness. She was staring at him because she wanted to warn him not to kiss her again.
Seeing she stopped being as distant and as she usually was, Archibald reached out his hand and pinched her cheeks. He felt so glad. "Fine, I'll stop because you've already suffered too much today," he said, and he captured a single trace of fury in her eyes. The woman really needed a lesson from time to time.
Just by then, some grumbling sound interrupted the intensity between them. Both of them looked at Lilian's flat belly. It was grumbling.
Archibald laughed with one eyebrow raised. "Hungry?" © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
Lilian was so embarrassed. The blushing which had faded away went back. She had knelt for a whole day in the ancestral hall without eating anything. She thought she could grab something to eat in the hotel, but the only thing she had eaten was some cakes. No matter how tough or angry she was, she still needed to eat.
Even so, she didn't want to talk to Archibald. She curled herself in the couch and covered her face with the pillow. She didn't want to talk to him.
After a while, she felt Archibald was taking off. So she moved the pillow and peeked. The man wasn't in the living room anymore.
She immediately stood up and thought this was the right time to leave this place, but she failed to find her shoes on the floor. Then she realized she got here in his arms, and her shoes were at the entrance of the apartment.
She stepped on the floor with bare feet, trying not to be found by Archibald. She never knew she would end up so miserable. She had to sneak back to her own home.
She didn't find her shoes in the hallway, either. So she bent and looked into the living room. Archibald still didn't find her yet. She turned back to open the door, but the door wouldn't be opened anyway.
She tried and failed several times.
"Where to?" She heard the man's cold voice coming from behind.
Lilian paused and her body freeze. As she turned over, she saw Archibald staring at her angrily.
"I... I just want to go home." She was guilty at first, but then she realized she didn't have to because she had every reason to go back to her own home.
"Home?" Archibald asked with his clear and black eyes narrowing, which looked dangerous. Then his thin lips curled and added, "Good, you can go home if you can open the door." The he turned away.
"You!" Lilian was so mad. She wouldn't believe that she couldn't open the door. She worked on it for quite a while, but there was no clue that it was opening at all. She turned over and wanted to ask Archibald about the reason. Then she saw the reflecting floor and thought that she couldn't walk on it with bare feet; therefore, she took off her shoes and walked in.
She found the straight and tall figure of the man in the kitchen. He was cooking something, and she didn't want to know what it was. She asked straightforwardly, "Archibald, the door of your home wouldn't open! Shouldn't you be worried now? We're trapped in here!"
Archibald was standing with his back at her. He replied calmly, "It will open with my fingerprints. Why should I be worried?"
Lilian gritted his teeth. "The man needs fingerprints to go outside? How fancy! Is he hiding gold and treasures here? Or it was just because he didn't feel safe?"
"Open the door and let me go out."
"I don't have the time," he said with his back to her.
She walked to him and stood in front of him, looking up at the man who was way taller than her.
"This is illegal imprisonment, do you know that?"
Archibald finally took a look at her. He said as calmly as aways, "Am I tying you up? The door is there, and it's not my fault that you couldn't open it." She checked her from head to toe and added, "I told you that this is far away from where you live. I don't think you can go home without a penny in your pocket." He then gently pushed her out of the way and went on cooking.
Lilian hesitated and realized that Sebastian drove her to the celebration directly. Her phone and purse were still at home.
She bit her lip, summoned her courage, and asked, "Can you lend me the tax fee?"
Archibald's eyes focused on her. He grinned a meaningful smile and asked, "Why would I do that?"
Lilian was hot-headed. She suddenly blurted out, "You ravished a kiss on me. I'm charging you for it!"
"Lilian, are you really selling that kiss to me?" His tone suddenly turned cold, and his strong body was approaching. She stepped backward, with her waist hitting on the kitchen counter. She wanted to scream, but she held it back when she saw the man's tight jaw muscle.
Lilian knew she had no way back now. She went ahead regardless and replied, "Yes, I'm charging for it."
