The newlyweds returned to Jace’s mansion. He insisted they stay there because it was their home and where Emerald belonged. They were in their bedroom, and the next day, they would fly to Switzerland for their honeymoon.

“I have always been yours, Jace.” Young Higginson smiled and cupped his wife’s face with both hands. Before the wedding, he had said everything he wanted to, including the reason for the suffering he caused her and how regretful he was.

“I never thought you’d be mine again. Yes, I want you, and I love you. I thought you could never forgive me, as you said before you left. She wanted to have a big family and raise Ace and their future children in a loving and supportive environment. She didn’t want what happened between her and Emerose, where they could have treated each other like real sisters. Still, instead, jealousy and envy consumed Emerose, leading to meaningless anger that resulted in nothing good.

Exhausted, the couple fell asleep, smiling, knowing that no matter what happened, they would always have each other to lean on. They realized that after everything they’d been through, they could overcome any problem hand in hand.

Emerald’s anger towards Jace had once led her to thoughts of revenge, but it had only brought them back together-hence the Sweet Revenge.
