Sweet Revenge: Jace & Emerald

“How is everyone?” asked Jace, looking at Emerald and the other team who were ready to launch the game they developed. They all looked excited and very happy because they managed to finish everything earlier than planned and the whole esport industry has been waiting for it.

The first time they launched their teaser, every gamer anticipated the game to be exciting and challenging at the same time. Emerald made sure that the players would be able to enjoy every level that they had to get through before advancing. The items they need to buy were on sale for the first week which the gamers will take advantage of. The story behind every character was written by known writers as well so everything in the game was worth the wait.

“Yes, sir!” everyone replied before they clapped their hands. Emerald who was standing beside her husband was feeling nervous which always happens whenever she launches a new game. Jace took her hands and held her tightly to calm her.

“Relax, dear wife. I’m sure everything is going to be okay,” he assures her. Young Morgan nodded, smiling before she looked at everyone and made their way near the stage, where they would be waiting to be called by the host for the launching.

Meanwhile, Emerose who blended her presence in the crowd was watching from afar and she couldn’t believe seeing Emerald and Jace talking casually. She was very furious thinking they were already on good terms especially when young Higginson put some strands of young Morgan’s hair behind her ear.

‘I can’t believe this, I am not going to let that bitch get the best of everything!’ Emerose told herself angrily. The envious that was always in her heart for her little sister ate her again, making her clench her fist and tremble in anger. ‘I must think of a way to make her suffer. It seems like what Jace did to her wasn’t enough to break her. I didn’t know that he was too soft.’ she added before she turned around.

But the eldest Morgan didn’t leave the event. She looked for a better place where she would be able to stay and watch without being noticed by either Emerald or Jace. She didn’t want them to be cautious of her presence even though she wasn’t planning on doing anything. She knew better not to act stupid on that very moment or it would backfire at her.

Although she was in disguise, Emerose still thinks that it would be better to keep herself hidden in the eyes of the people she would get her revenge on. She didn’t want to miss any information that might help her accomplish the plan she had been thinking about ever since she found out that Emerald was her half-sister and her father’s bastard to Lucy.

She found Jace standing in the center with a microphone in his hand, smiling as he waited for the applause to fade. ‘The bastard is really handsome,’ Emerose thought.

“Thank you very much for coming,” Jace started. “This is my first attempt at engaging in esports. After witnessing the satisfaction on every gamer’s faces whether they win or lose, I began dreaming of developing a game that I’m sure everybody would love with collaboration to ACEGame Development. Who would have thought that this dream will eventually lead me back to the love of my life that I once lost?” Everyone started buzzing and gossiping while Higginson waited for his words to sink in his audience’s heads.

“His love of his life? I never thought that he had one,” Emerose heard someone say from behind. She rolled her eyes because she too can’t believe that her little sister was Jace’s love of his life. She thought he was very angry at him and even though she already felt before that he was taking a liking to young Morgan, she still didn’t believe that young Higginson will eventually fall for her little sister deeply.

“Wow, I didn’t know that something like that happened to them…” A young gamer said in a dreamy state as Jace continued telling them about how he and Emerald got separated. It wasn’t in detail, but for the young generation, they thought it was romantic. And that made Emerose’s anger arise.

“So I hope that you will be able to enjoy the game my wife,” Jace said, looking at Emerald, motioning her to come to him, which she did, smiling. “Had developed for my company. I mean, for our company.” he corrected before the applause was heard again.

“His wife is very beautiful, and I didn’t know that she was the one who developed the Mobile Ace Clash!” someone from beside Emerose exclaimed. She had no idea about what the gamers were saying, but she still felt furious because she knew that they were praising Emerald.

Because of all the good things that she keeps on hearing about her little sister, Emerose decided to leave and look for another place to stay as she watches everything that happens during the launching. As she walked, she accidentally went to the back stage and continued walking until she reached the dressing room. “Keep your eyes on the boy and don’t let him out of your sight.” Daryl told a man who nodded his head.

‘Boy?’ Emerose curiously asked herself and wondered who the boy that Daryl was referring to. Then a woman opened the door, making eldest Morgan get a glimpse inside and found the boy playing. Then she began to remember Emerald and the boy at school. As the woman finished talking to Daryl, she went inside and one more time, Emerose saw the boy and noticed that he looked like Jace. She decided to hide herself behind a column and waited for any information about the boy.

“Have you seen Sir Jace’s son? He’s so cute, right?” a woman said, happily as she and her friend walked on their way backstage.

‘Jace’s son? Does that mean, the boy I saw earlier is his son? To whom? Wait, to Emerald?’ Emerose continues talking to herself. ‘That bitch! She made sure to get pregnant with Jace before she left? Is that the reason why he took her back? Just because of the boy?’

Before Emerose left, she made sure to find out everything she can about the boy, Emerald and Jace. She wanted to find anything that could help her in planning her revenge. She wanted to make sure that everything will be in place once she finalizes everything. ‘I didn’t want to fail! I am going to make sure that you’re going to suffer, Emerald. You and your bastard son!’

Back in the event, Emerald and Jace were talking to different businessmen who were also interested to collaborate with ACEGame as well as SoftWare group. Since Jace’s company is already a giant company, he doesn’t need anyone for financial support. His family has other businesses too which his brother Jack was managing so he has all the resources he needs.

But ACEGame will definitely need more, especially when they were also thinking about manufacturing a console game. Jace felt proud about his wife when he heard her plan about her company. He believes Creep and the others were part of their success but Higginson trusts that it was Emerald who always thought about how they could improve.

The launching is a success and everyone who witnessed it was looking forward to more of the ACEGame and SoftWare collaborations in the future especially when the owners of both companies are a married couple. The team was very happy when Jace announced that they should look forward to more games they would be developing in the future. As they continued their celebration, they had no idea that the eyes from two different people were watching them.

The following day, the launching was the headlines of every news in all social media, TV, magazines, newspaper, radio and other business news sources in the country. “It would be best if we strike now, they are busy and won’t be able to have time with the boy.” It was Hubert, Emerose went to him as soon as she left the event the other day and laid her plan. Emerose thinks about it as well and realizes that he has a point. But she didn’t want to act drastically. She wanted to be careful so it won;t backfire on them. She wanted revenge without going to jail.

“I want you to find people who would help us, we won’t be able to do this alone. We need someone who is willing to take the risk but careful enough not to get caught.”

“Roger that!” Hubert agreed with a demonic smile on his face.
