“We failed to get it?!”

Jayden’s voice boomed in the room, making Roy who was standing in front of him only look down in fear. Jayden’s aura when he was angry was truly terrifying.

“Why did we fail, huh?!” Jayden asked again in disbelief.

Supposedly when he came today, he would have received good news from Roy about the results of the last place auction at Alatha Center. But instead of getting good news, Jayden was disappointed by the person he trusted so much.

“I’m sorry, sir. But I have set the price according to what Mr. Jayden ordered,” said Roy trying to defend himself.

“Aish!” Jayden snorted again in annoyance. The price set was already very high so he thought there was no way anyone would bid on the place higher than him. Jayden tried to calm his anger by taking a deep breath and then letting it out a few times.

Jayden turned to Roy. It’s not entirely the man’s fault. He had done a good job only maybe they were out of luck this time. And Jayden would do anything to get his luck back.

“So who got the land?” Jayden asked in a lower voice. Roy lifted his face to look at his boss.

“Mr. Ridwan from Pratama Corp,” said Roy.

“Pratama Corp?” Jayden’s brow furrowed. “Isn’t that the name of Mr. Haidar’s company?” he asked.

Roy nodded slowly. “That’s right, sir.”

Jayden chuckled. What is this? One of his partners was trying to stab him in the back?

“Why would he do this when he invested in me? Is this a form of betrayal?” Jayden asked in disbelief.

“I think Mr. Haidar has a motive behind what he did, sir,” Roy argued.

“I think you’re right. And I have to find out what the man wants.” Jayden turned to Roy. “Call Mr. Ridwan and arrange my meeting with Mr. Haidar as soon as possible!” the order is firm.

“Okay sir!” Roy replied bowing and said goodbye to leave.

“I thought you’d come to see me,” said Haidar pouring a drink into Jayden’s glass.

“Was this your plan from the start, Haidar Pratama?” Jayden asked, staring intently at the man sitting across from him.

Haidar didn’t answer but the crooked smile he created on his handsome face was enough of an answer for Jayden.

Jayden grimaced softly as he took a deep breath. “I should have started to suspect when you easily accepted my offer at that time. My father-in-law is not that good at lobbying someone to make you agree so easily,” said Haidar chuckling sadly because he believed in Haidar’s ruse.

“You’re wrong, Jayden. Mr. Andrew is indeed very good at lobbying although it’s not as great as I said at the time,” said Haidar, sipping half his drink.

“Then what do you want now? Didn’t you invest in me then why did you buy land at Alatha Center instead?” Jayden asked in an impatient tone. His dreams are at stake here. Jayden had sacrificed too much and he wasn’t going to back down anymore.

“Can we have dinner first before discussing business?” Haidar instead asked back, pointing at the food that was almost filling the table between them.

Just don’t know how Jayden holds back his emotions. Even his hands were clenched on both sides so that the bones of his hands were visible. It seemed that the man was deliberately stalling for time to test Jayden’s patience. And Jayden couldn’t get so emotional otherwise he could lose everything.

“Okay,” Jayden replied then. They ate the food without talking. The only sound was the sound of spoons and forks colliding on the plate.

It took them about fifteen minutes to finish the dinner in silence. And now it’s time for Jayden to start bidding.

“I’ll pay double for the area, how?” Jayden asked pouring the drink into Haidar’s glass.

Haidar smiled faintly as he looked at Jayden with a look that was difficult to interpret. “So you think I bought the land to get more money from you?” asked Haidar nonchalantly. “Just keep your money, Jayden. I don’t need it.”

“Then what do you want? Development can’t be done until I get all the areas there.” Jayden was starting to run out of patience.

“What if I said, I’ll give you the area as a gift,” Haidar tilted his face slightly. “On one condition and you must fulfill it.”

Jayden had guessed that Haidar might not only want money but there are other things that might be more important than money.

“Say it!”

Haidar’s bait was caught well by Jayden. Now it’s just a matter of pulling it.

“Divorce Hera and let me have her,” said Haidar with a sly smile.

Jayden’s eyes widen. “What did you say?” Jayden asked getting up from his seat. Like ready to beat Haidar.

“I like your wife, Jayden,” Haidar said so plainly as if what he said wouldn’t be a big deal.

“You bastard!” Jayden cursed rewarding Haidar’s left cheek with a fist that knocked him to the ground.

Jayden was about to attack him again but Haidar quickly parried the man’s punch and without being able to dodge Jayden again, Haidar also managed to hit his left cheek and this time he fell on the floor.

“So this was your plan from the start? You’re like my wife?!” Jayden shouted, not caring about the corners of his lips that were oozing fresh blood.

“You hypocrite! You never even thought of her as a wife, you bastard!” said Haidar pointing at the man angrily.

Jayden laughed loudly there. “Wow! You even know that? How far did you find out about my family, Haidar?”

“I know everything about you, Jayden,” Haidar said.

“Is that true?” he don’t know why Jayden even challenged him.

“Of course. Even I know if you have an affair and now you live with her.”

‘Oh shit! So this man really knows all about me?’ Jayden thought starting to get nervous.

Seeing the anxiety in Jayden’s eyes, Haidar drew closer to the man. Squatting in front of him with a sly smile.

“And I also know that Alatha Center is everything to you. And if Alatha Center is destroyed then you will be destroyed with it,” said Haidar. He had held Jayden’s ace. Now the man had no choice but to agree.

Heydar got up from there. Gently brushing his injured lips. Unlucky! It turned out that Jayden’s hand punch could also make Haidar’s lips slightly torn.

“Now the decision is yours. Meet me when you have a choice,” said Haidar about to leave.

“Wait!” But stopped when Jayden’s big voice erupted. Haidar did not turn around at all.

“I’ve made up my mind,” Jayden said.

“Say it!”

If Jayden had made up his mind before his meeting with Hera the other day, perhaps he wouldn’t have hesitated to accept Haidar’s request. Because Jayden himself really wanted to part with Hera. But now everything has changed. Jayden seemed unwilling to let Hera go. Really.

Jayden closed his eyes before saying, “I…”
