Chapter 898 With Four Limbs Up in the Air
Chapter 898 With Four Limbs Up in the Air
With the words, Felix poured himself another cup of tea, gulped it down, and said, “Donald, see Mr.
Kaye out.”
Donald came in and looked at Irvin with hesitation.
“Mr. Kaye, this way, please.”
Irvin gave Felix a deep look.
Seconds later, he said, “OK. I’ll go now.”
He turned and walked out.
But he paused at the entrance.
With his back to Felix, he said in a deep voice, “Queeny is my friend as well as the woman you like, so I
will do what little I can to help. Don’t worry. I won’t involve my family in it, but you can’t stop me lending
a hand in my way.”
Felix said nothing. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
With that, Irvin strode away.
Felix was still sitting there after Irvin had left.
A long while later, Felix took out his phone and made a call.
“Seven, I have something to talk to you. Get your husband to answer the phone.”
[…]
Natalia had been very busy lately.
Annie International was planning a new movie to be directed by Hamlin.
Natalia had been busy selecting the cast with Hamlin.
It was a movie that Hamlin had been preparing for a long time, so they decided to hold a mass audition
and cast average people instead of employing the artists on hand.
Thus, the workload became much heavier.
As the most important investor in the movie, Natalia would certainly be present at the mass audition as
one of the judges.
When Felix called, Natalia had just finished the work and was in her car on her way home.
Hearing Felix’s words, she raised her brows and asked, “What is it?”
“Something important that you can’t handle. Get your husband.”
Natalia gave a snort of derision.
“Sorry, he’s not available now. Call another time.”
Saying that, she hung up on him.
Nancy was driving in the front.
Hearing Natalia’s unkind tone, Nancy smiled and said, “Who was it to piss you off like that?”
Natalia rubbed her forehead wearily and said coolly, “It was Felix.”
Nancy was a bit surprised.
It was Felix who had saved them from the traffickers when they were heavily injured from the plane
crash.
Therefore, Nancy knew something about the relation between Natalia and Felix.
Not only Nancy but also Archie was more or less aware of Natalia’s connection with Felix. Archie,
perhaps not wanting to upset himself, didn’t make a fuss about it.
But Felix had not contacted Natalia since he rescued them.
Why did he call her today?
Nancy was a little puzzled, but she didn’t think much about it.
Soon they reached home.
Now a mother, Natalia had grown very attached to family. When she finished work every day, she was
eager to come home to see Anne and Oliver.
Oliver was now two years old, so naughty and energetic that none of the nannies and servants was
able to manage him.
Buried in his work, Archie couldn’t possibly stay home to take care of Oliver, not to mention Natalia,
who was even busier. Meanwhile, Archie’s parents, who had been under the weather lately and resting
in the old house, were not able to help.
Neither did Natalia consider asking Archie’s parents for help, not wanting their peace to be disturbed by
the kids.
Fortunately, Oliver, though intractable to others, idolized his sister Anne.
He was most amenable to Anne.
Oliver’s obedience to Anne made Natalia’s life much easier.
The car slowly got into the McCarthy Mansion. As soon as they heard the whirr of the car, the kids
rushed out.
They both lit up when they saw Natalia get out of the car,.
“Mommy!”
The kids dived into Natalia’s arms.
Natalia greeted them with a big hug and laughed. “Easy. If you knock me down, the three of us will go
sprawling, with our four limbs up in the air.”
Oliver said in a childish voice, “No, with our twelve limbs up in the air. One person has four limbs, and
three people have twelve limbs.”
Natalia burst into laughter.
“Are you sure?”
Oliver was somewhat confused. He had been learning math recently and had got into the habit of
counting things.
He thought he did the counting right.
When one person fell sprawling, he had four limbs in the air. So, when three people fell sprawling, they
had twelve limbs in the air.
What were Mommy and Anne laughing at?
Perplexed, Oliver gave up thinking and laughed along with them.
Lifting Oliver up in her arms and taking Anne’s hand, Natalia walked to the house as she asked the
kids, “What were you doing at home today?”
The kids launched into a detailed account.
When they entered the drawing room, Natalia put Oliver down, and played with Anne the game that
Anne had been doing just now. The three were immersed in happiness.
Felix didn’t call again after Natalia had hung up on him.
Natalia didn’t pay much attention to it, as she had always considered Felix an odd person.
It was just as well that he left her alone.
Felix, however, intended not to leave her alone but to call later, convinced from her tone that Archie
was indeed not available then.
When the McCarthys were having dinner, Natalia’s phone rang again.
Seeing the caller ID, Natalia furrowed her brows.
Archie, who was sitting beside her, asked, “Who is it?”
Natalia hesitated for a second, but did not hold back.
“It’s Felix Bissel. He called this afternoon, saying that he had something to talk to you. No idea what it
was.”
Archie’s eyes dimmed slightly.
He said deeply, “Give me the phone.”
Natalia was surprised.
She knew well the long-running discord between Archie and Felix. The two had broken up because of
the fight between the McCarthy family and the Bissel family, and the feud had got more intense later
when Archie learned about the relation between Natalia and Felix.
How could Archie be willing to answer Felix’s call?
Natalia was bewildered at the change of Archie’s attitude.
Nevertheless, she handed Archie the phone obediently.
Archie took the phone and went out to answer it instead of doing so in the presence of the kids.
Natalia took no heed of him and said to Anne after he had left, “Anne, don’t eat vegetables only. Have
some meat.”
With that, she put a piece of meat in Anne’s plate.
Although she was barely ten years old, Anne had already blossomed into a beautiful young girl of
nearly 160 centimeters, thanks to the genetic inheritance.
At such an age, Anne paid much attention to her appearance.
