Chapter 19 A Shocking Secret

Chapter 19 A Shocking Secret

After inquiring through various sources, Emily knew that Sebastian’s mother Norah often went to a

restaurant called K Restaurant. But she wouldn’t go to see her directly. If she had done that, she would

have been kicked out by the Clark family before she could see Norah.

Since she couldn’t go to see Norah directly, she would act under the rose.

Eliana, the daughter of Mr. Evans, one of the owners of the K Restaurant, was Emily’s best friend for

many years. Emily called her to find out which was Norah’s private room and the scheduled time. She

prepared to wait for her there in advance.

Only VIP could be allowed to enter there. The security guard standing there stopped her, “Lady, please

show me your VIP card.”

What he meant was very clear. She couldn’t enter unless she had that card. She just asked Eliana to

inquire about the basic information, but did not ask for any card.

She took off her sunglasses and showed only half of her charming eyes. She immediately put on a

smile, “I’m here to meet someone.”

“Since you’re here to meet someone, please tell me the name and room number of the guest, lady.”

She said calmly, “I’m here to meet Mrs. Clark, Room 203.”

After hearing her answer, the security guard froze. He asked, “Do you have an appointment with Mrs.

Clark?”

Emily should have thought of this. Not everyone could meet Norah directly. She hadn’t considered

about that.

“Then you can go and inform her that I am her future daughter-in-law. I would like to meet her in

advance.” In for a penny, in for a pound. If she didn’t take bold steps, she couldn’t see Mrs. Clark today.

Then the security guard breathed a sigh of relief. Then he said in a flattering way, “Please wait here. I’ll

send someone upstairs.”

Three minutes later, the security guard went back to invite her in, but obviously he was more respectful

than before.

The further she walked in, the more she felt like she had travelled through time. There were all kinds of

furnishings in the restaurant. Walls and decorations were all designed according to the standards of the

Tang Dynasty. It was full of antique flavors there. The sporadic fragrance of tea was even more

refreshing.

Standing in the corridor, she almost forgot why she came here. She enjoyed the scenery, took a deep

breath, and the fragrance of tea got into her nose and throat.

She thought that as long as she entered the main hall, she could move freely. Just a few steps into

there, a waitress in a retro cheongsam stopped her, “Lady, we have rules in this restaurant. You can’t

wander around here.”

Emily said promptly, “I’m here to meet Mrs. Clark in Room 203.”

“Mrs. Clark?”

She nodded. The waitress smiled and respectfully showed her the way, “Mrs. Clark is waiting for you.

Please follow me.”

Emily went forward with the waitress, and after every few steps, she would find something different.

This place was like an exquisite gift box. After you opened it, you would find the surprise present in

front of us.

On the second floor, looking down, she found there was a pool full of green lotus in the garden on the

first floor. The lotus pool was made of exquisite stones of various colors. It was definitely beautiful.

Even the design could be called an exhibit.

When the waitress saw that she was not familiar with this restaurant, she smiled and asked, “Lady, this

is your first time to come to K Restaurant, right?”

“It’s my first time here, and I feel quite good.” She said in a way that was both modest and not pompous

to express how much she liked here.

“You are Mr. Clark’s business friend. The friendship between the Clark family and our boss’s family has

spanned a few generations. You can feel free to come here.”

Emily sneered in her mind. Veterans were abler than recruits. Norah asked her to meet her in the name

of Sebastian’s business partner. Naturally they were free from a lot of gossip.

She followed behind the waitress, passing by the private rooms with antique flavor one by one, until

they arrived in front of the Room 203.

The waitress knocked gently on the door, and in no less than two seconds, a woman’s voice came from

inside, “Let her in!”

“Lady, you can go in now.”

Emily took off her eight-centimeter red high heels and walked in barefoot. A woman with her hair in a

bun sat cross-legged in front of the coffee table, with a tea set resting on the table and a small

contoured teacup in her hand.

Because there was a hazy curtain between them, she didn’t see her face clearly. She just saw her

turning around and beckoning to her.

She took a deep breath and moved forward slowly. Even if she could not walk like those young ladies

of note, this would not make her feel that she did not have self-cultivation.

Walking through the curtain, she saw Norah’s charming and delicate face. She was more graceful than

her pictures on TV and the newspaper.

“Come and sit down here.” Norah waved at her, but she didn’t raise her head to look at her.

Emily sat down and crossed her legs. Then she introduced herself, “Mrs. Clark, I’m Emily.” This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

Norah smiled perfunctorily, “I know you. Two years ago, you raised a colossal uproar in our city.”

She said with a slightly stiff smile on her face, “It’s a pity that your half-sister didn’t marry into the Clark

family.”

Emily had long been indifferent to these words. Since she came today, it meant that she had prepared

for the worst.

She showed her beautiful neck, “My sister can’t marry into the Clark family. That’s her destiny. People

all have to accept their destiny.”

At these words, the corners of Norah’s mouth twitched. And then she began to say seriously, “Why has

Miss Morris come here to meet me?”

“I want Sebastian to marry me.”

She came straight to the point.

It seemed that Norah had heard a joke. She couldn’t help but laughed grimly, “Miss Morris, are you

joking?”

Norah just stared at her. She didn’t get angry or put cold-shoulder at her. But she told her with an

extremely cold look: That was impossible.

Emily felt that her whole body was going to be seen through, but she insisted on remaining calm. She

felt that as long as she firmly spoke in the role of Sebastian’s future wife, there would be no room for

Norah to exploit an advantage, so that she could successfully end their conversation.

Thinking of this, she naturally straightened her back and said respectfully to Norah, “I know what

people may think of me. It’s ridiculous for me to marry into the Clark family. But now I’m pregnant, I

can’t let my baby born without a father.”

She was pregnant with Sebastian’s baby, the Clark family’s child. But everything was a lie.

“Really?” Norah took a sip of tea. Obviously, she didn’t believe her, “You’re not the only one who says

this and wants to marry into our family, but you’re the most careless and rampant woman I’ve ever

seen.”

Since she needed to put out a play, she would have to continue or there would be trouble.

“If Mrs. Clark wants a pregnancy test report, I can hand in one every week.”

This was difficult. But everything was ready, she just needed to wait for a good point.

Emily originally thought that this would make Norah feel anxious, but apparently Norah was much

calmer than her. She didn’t even care about what Emily had said.

Norah raised her eyebrow, and said calmly, “Miss Morris, have Sebastian told you that he is the

illegitimate child in the Clark family?”
