Chapter 15. My Head Screams Her Name
Noah Hunter POV
“Noah!” I turned my head around and saw Britney White, my fiancée, waving at me.
Two people flanked her. The one on her right is her manager, whom I have known fairly well over the years, and the one on her left is her bodyguard.
When our eyes met, she dropped her carryall bag and ran toward me, ignoring the buzz around her.
People started smiling at the sight of her weaving her way around the crowd and getting their phones out to catch her on video.
As an international model, Britney is quite popular and is considered a celebrity in her own right.
When she dashed in my direction, she was shedding all the air of sophistication surrounding her, looking like a girl so much in love.
My lips curled reflexively at the corners before I moved my feet toward her.
When we met at the center of the large airport, she clung to me, wrapping her arms around my neck to kiss my lips.
“I missed you.” She told me, gliding her lips to mine.
For a moment, something in my mind flashed. I remembered the same scene but not with the woman in my arms.
Not wanting to delve into the momentary flashback, I responded, putting a little enthusiasm in greeting Britney back.

It is way out of character, but I wrapped my arms around her and returned her kiss,
I was never the flamboyant type, like Britney, who showed the world her feelings.
I am more restrained than her.
Though I missed her, I tried to reel myself in, fully aware that my actions could blow out of proportion since we were in a public place.
The media could easily track her movements with the help of social media, and we could end up with our faces splashed on the daily news and trending topics on the internet in a flash.
I gently pushed her away.
Britney knew how much I hated the unwanted attention that comes with her profession, so despite the hurt I saw in her eyes, she tried to cover up.
“Did you wait long?” She asked, faking a giggle before snaking her arms around mine.
I was sure she was doing it for the benefit of our observers, so I played along. I could not let her down.
I shook my head no.
“You know I am going to wait however late you may be. Just as how patiently you have been waiting for me.” I told her, guilt laced my voice.
Britney had been very patient with me. She stuck with me through these years.

“Aw!” Britney said, squeezing my afm.
Then, as an afterthought, she looked at my face, saw ther seriousness in my expression, and concluded wrongly.
Her stare gave me a strong negative vibe, making me cringe. inwardly.
“Oh my! Don’t tell me that you are going to propose again!” Britney squealed, and I saw people turning their heads and smiling our
way.
Blood rushed to my head, and I could feel my cheeks getting warm in embarrassment before my eyes narrowed into slits.
Britney took in my expression and knew she slipped up.
She quickly threw her head back to let out a low chuckle. As I have known her for years, I realized this is her way of saving herself from my wrath.
“My manager is going to be angry at us. I am still bound by my contracts. I couldn’t be married just yet.” She said in a voice too loud for everyone to hear.
In just a few sentences, she was able to shift the blame on her, which added to my annoyance.
Was
The subject of our marriage the last thing on my mind.
I started walking out of the airport as if the devil was hot on my heels, and because Britney clung to my arm, my weight pulled her as well.
Chapter 15 My !
When we were outside the airport, pulled the collar off my shirt, feeling a little hot with what happened back there.
I wiggled my arms to lose Britney’s hold and took my phone out of my pocket to call my driver.
When he answered, I barked into the phone, ordering him to get us immediately.
All the while, Britney stood with her ramr I back. She was silent and unmoving.
When the car arrived, the driver quickly got out to open the door for us, but I got to the door ahead of him and opened it.
“Get in!” I hissed at Britney.
She moved meekly and got inside.
I closed the door and walked to the other side to get in, but before I could do that, something caught my eye. It was a woman.
It must have been how she carried herself she commanded power and self–confidence.
I can see people turning their heads in her direction. They were following her with their eyes.
I shifted my eyes back to her. I can’t seem to pull them away.
Then, she turned her face in my direction, and I was stunned to see those familiar black eyes.
“Briana.” My head screamed her name.
