Sold To A Billionaire

Is It Just A Bluff?

Is It Just A Bluff?

“CAN you tell me where you’re going, Helios? We’re not finished yet,” Chloe stated emphatically. Helios was invited to a dinner party at a posh restaurant by Chloe. Helios agreed because the woman has been in contact with his father and has asked for updates on a regular basis. As an added bonus, he remembered what Grant had said to him. And he’s only putting up with all of this nonsense for the sake of his scheme. “As I previously stated, I have a large number of tasks to complete.” Chloe wrinkled her brows as she wiped the inside of her mouth. She took a sip of the red wine from her wine glass and stared at it. “It’s not business hours, Helios.” Helios’s brows knitted together. “You’re familiar with my working style, Chloe.” She sipped her drink from the glass and smirked when she caught Helios’s eye. “So, what do you want me to say to your father if he calls?” she inquired. “Then tell the truth,” Helios responded, and he then walked out of the room toward the entrance. Chloe rose to her feet with a sigh of relief. Helios will not be able to get away from her that easily. She was convinced that something was going on, and she was determined to find out what it was. When Helios’ bodyguards arrived, she was just about to take the next step toward the exit. “What the hell are you doing?” she asked. The two men, Ambrose and Cliff, were asked the same question. Chloe received a friendly smile from Ambrose. “Mr. Lincoln told us to accompany you, Miss,” says Lincoln. “I’m sure I’ll be able to handle it,” Chloe said. Cliff took the initiative and walked up to say something. “We are adamant, Miss,” he said as he gestured in the direction of the car, “This way, please,” he continued. The thought had Chloe completely floored. Wasn’t it Helios who brought her here, and now she’ll be driven back to her house by two of his bodyguards? After sensing Chloe’s thoughts, Ambrose was inspired to come up with something that would benefit Helios and the situation in question. “The safety of his future fiancée is all Mr. Lincoln cares about, Miss. Apart from that, your

engagement party is just two days away,” Ambrose explained, hoping that Chloe would take him up on his offer. Chloe blinked, then realized that the bodyguard had a valid point: she was being unreasonable. “Please understand Mr. Lincoln, Miss,” Cliff said, “As a result, he assigned us the responsibility of looking after you. In the end, he only wanted you to be safe and for his engagement to be smooth.” Cliff continued, “Don’t worry, you’ll see him again tomorrow,” and he looked at Ambrose with concern. After saying that his buddy had done excellent work, Ambrose smiled and widened his brows. She was forced to remain silent for a moment before exhaling a deep sigh of relief and declaring herself to be persuaded. “All right, that’s fine with me. You’ve provided a great deal of relief. Send me home.” Nodding their heads, Ambrose and Cliff exchanged glances. … “So... Zoe, you’re expecting a child?” With one glance in the rearview mirror, Grant inquired about Zoe. Given that Zoe was in the passenger seat, Cindy gave her a quick glance over her shoulder. Awaiting the outcome of Zoe’s response. Nodding her head, Zoe sighed. Grant flashed a grin at her. “Is it Helios?” Cindy cast a sour look in the general direction of Grant. “Keep driving as long as you can. We’ll have a talk later. Bring us to the most expensive restaurant as well,” she demanded emphatically. An indistinct chuckle could be heard from Grant. “Why? Has your last day come to pass?” Grant’s words have an awful taste in Cindy’s mouth. “Are you treating me as if I were dead?” she asked. When Grant interrupted, he turned the steering wheel to the left. “I didn’t say anything, dear,” Grant said. Cindy sighed and shook her head. “What’s the reason I asked for this parasite's presence beside me? Please tell me, Zoe.” she inquired, making Zoe shake her head.

‘Cindy looked like an idiot,’ Zoe thought. “Parasite? Then I’m a pretty good-looking parasite.” With her gaze fixed on Grant, Cindy made an arched brow. “Never in a million years. Anyway, this is for a treat, okay?” “My treat?” Grant repeated. Cindy smiled and bowed her head a little bit. “Yes.” Grant couldn’t stop himself from smiling. “Never in a million years. It was you who requested my assistance.” Cindy responded with, “Then send us back.” Zoe couldn’t believe what she was seeing and shook her head. A pointless debate between the two continues. It was as simple as pulling out her earphones, putting them in her ears, and listening to some soft music while admiring the lights that were passing through the window. After a few minutes of driving along the wide and long highway, Grant's auto came to a stop in front of a five-star restaurant named Aguste’s, which was a well-known establishment in the area. Grant, it appears, is unable to refuse Cindy’s invitation to dinner. “You’re the first one to go… I’ll just take this call,” Grant said as he walked out of his car, waving his phone in their direction. If Cindy noticed Zoe’s gaze on her, she simply shrugged her shoulders. It was Cindy who said, “Let’s get moving.” The guards greet them, followed by the approach of the waiter. “Do you require a reservation, ma’am?” the waiter asked. Grant is nowhere to be found when Cindy looks in his direction, so she relies on her intuition. “Mr. Lincoln’s.” The waiter looked down and checked his lists before nodding. “Upstairs, ma’am.” After answering, the waiter began to walk, guiding them. As they followed him, Cindy looked at Zoe and smiled. Cindy and Zoe couldn’t help but get amazed by the interior of the restaurant. “It’s really nice to mingle with elite people, right, Zoe?” Cindy suddenly asked while they entered theContent © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

elevator. Zoe shook her head and nodded. “Look how beautiful your life will be if you married like one of them—” “Just consider yourself, Cindy. If Calyx will marry you,” Zoe interrupted as she diverted the topic to Cindy. Cindy pouted her lips and rolled her eyes. “Whatever,” she said as she turned to the waiter who was standing on the side. Zoe shook her head when Cindy started to talk to the waiter. The elevator door opened after a few moments, and Zoe stepped out first, followed by Cindy and the waiter. “This way, ladies,” the waiter said as he gestured the way to the right of the second floor. “Wow!” It was Cindy who was baffled by the surroundings and didn’t mind if people were looking at her. For Zoe, Cindy is kinda embarrassing because of her sudden attitude. As if she’s not been in a restaurant like this—well, even but Zoe knew how to control her emotion. Unlike Cindy. “Damn, Zoe. This is so…” Cindy paused as she walked towards her and whispered, “I will get a spoon, fork, and a knife as a remembrance,” she said, making Zoe frown. “Are you for real?” she asked. Cindy nodded and bit her lower lip. Zoe shook her head. “Then get some table napkin, glass, and a plate,” she said. Cindy let go of her arm and rolled her eyes again. “You are being sarcastic,” she said and walked ahead of her. Zoe couldn’t help but smile because of her friend’s behavior. The waiter led them to the right side of the floor, and Zoe was amazed because Grant had reserved the perfect spot. The table is near the glass wall, and they can see the perfect view of the city lights. “Geez, this is so good,” It was Cindy again. Zoe smiled at the waiter and apologized because of Cindy’s behavior.

The waiter smiled. “I understand, Miss. Anyway, you can check the menu book and press the bell to call an attendee waitress,” he said. Zoe nodded and said, “Thank you.” “God, this is so cool—” “I know, Cindy. So, stop being so ignorant,” Zoe said, which made Cindy roll her eyes. “Killjoy,” Cindy uttered as she reached for the menu book. Zoe sighed and smiled. “You’re like a ten-year-old kid, Cindy. Does Calyx know about—” “Your mouth was filled with that beast's name. If you miss Helios—Helios?!” Zoe frowned when she sensed the missing fragment of Cindy’s sentence. “What—” “Helios Lincoln is here!” Cindy blurted in surprise, making others’ attention fixed on her. At that moment, Zoe’s body tensed, and her heart started to thump fast, but her mind couldn’t process it. ‘Does Cindy telling the truth, or she’s just bluffing,’ she thought.
