Shouldn't Have Kissed You

Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Chris walked inside the mansion loosening up his tie. He was tired and all he could think of at that

moment was him freshening up and having his dinner then sleeping all the night.

His mind didn't want to think of anything, not even the game that he was playing with his wife. She had

a taste of his own medicine and that was enough today. Yeah, plus her sleeping on the cold floor.

That was more than enough for him. It was just the beginning. He couldn't help his mind moving back

to today in the morning. When he woke up and found her shivering on his cold floor like a little puppy

she was.

He didn't know why, but he was satisfied when he saw her. Something in him was more than glad. Glad

that he was going to break her little by little and no one would help her. Not even her father.4

A smile formed on his lips. Maybe he was insane. But he didn't care as long as he inflicted the pain on

her himself and saw her suffer on his own pain. That was more than enough for him.

He was just about to take the second stair case when he heard laughter from the kitchen. He looked

towards it and thought it was his chef and one of the maids gossiping about someone.

Chris had warned them so many times not to gossip during working hours but it seemed like they were

landing on the deaf ears. Anyway you can't control an old habit. At least that's what his mum taught

him.

He moved to walk away but the laughter increased by every step he took. That was not what bothered

him the most. What bothered him was the new voice that he heard and it had him all curious.

He knew curiosity killed the cat but still he found himself walking towards the kitchen. He didn't know

why he did that, but what he knew at that moment was that his legs had mind of their own.

"You can't be serious," The voice said.

Chris noticed that it was struggling to keep the laugh inside but in a way it was impossible. From what

he could gather from where he stood was that there were three people in the kitchen.

One was his chef's laugh and the second one was from his,"Momma?"

He was now confused. What was his mother doing there at this time of a day? She knew that he

needed scape with his new wed and still she came to his mansion? What was she after?

Chris knew his mother very well. And wherever she went and he was there, she was always up to no

good at all. This was no good in fact.

He moved closer to the kitchen door, just then his mum spoke.

"You better believe it my dear," Bernice said,"you can ask Alma if you don't believe me."

There was a pose then,"it's true," Alma confirmed whatever they were talking about, "at that time he

was only ten and I had started working there only few days."

Ten? Chris thought. He was sure they were talking about him. But what he wasn't sure of was what had

happened at ten. Then it rung on his mind. That day he had met a......

"Did I tell you how he asked the first girlfriend to be his girl?" Bernice cut his thoughts.

"Not yet," that voice. Of course, how could he miss it. It was hers. It was his wife's and his mother was

filling her with his embarrassing moment of his life.

And she, she found his funny to laugh at. He couldn't believe the nerve of her to laugh at his past

mistakes.6

"Ooh boy," Bernice began, "he was...." just then, the door opened and in walked the topic of the

evening.

Everyone turned their heads to him and amusement was still written on her face. What she found

amusing, he had no idea.

"Momma," Chris called walking to her,"I can see that you're filling my wife with my childhood stories,"

he kissed her forehead and hugged her.

Bernice returned his hug and smiles at Maya who was only two steps way from her. She loved her son

and she also loved her daughter in law. It would take a while before they both fell in love but that's why

she was there in the first place.

To help the two understand that their marriage was no mistake as they think. It was made to be and

she would help them to know that. They were matched in heaven. At least that's what she believed in.3

Bernice pulled away,"she walked in an hour ago and insisted on help us to prepare you favorite, and

what's the other way to do it?"

Chris smiled at his mum,"tell her my childhood."

"You're right," she said rubbing his arm,"it helped us and look, we're done just in time."

Chris pulled away from his mum and hugged his chef. She was like a second mum to him and that's

why when he bought this house, he had her come to work for him. His mum didn't need a chef since as

far as he can recall, she was the best and always will be.

"I'll freshen up then," he said not glancing at his wife,"see you in a bit."

Chris was about to walk out when he heard,"actually, your wife is done here," Bernice said,"so you two

can go and freshen up. Alma and I'll set the table."

Maya didn't need to be told twice. She picked her handbag which she had left at the stool and followed

Chris behind. Whatever his mum was think, he was sure that it will never happen. Come rain, come

sunshine.

Maya walked inside there bedroom and took out her outfit. She then walked to the bathroom and came

out with towel on her hand. All that time Chris was stripping his clothes off.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked just when she was turning the doorknob.

Maya turned around to find him with nothing but his briefs. She couldn't help herself but stare at the

Greek god in front of her. His skin was like golden when the setting sun reflected on him. He was more

than what the photos showed on the magazine and google if you asked her. They did no justice on him

at all.

She moved her eyes to his abs. God, those abs.....

"Are you done staring?" He cut her thoughts, "babe, you can stare all you want but you can never, and

I mean never, have a taste of this. So please stop wasting my pressure time and answer my question."

Maya was never embarrassed like that in her whole life. Was it wrong to stare at him when he stood

there so underdressed? Was it even her fault that he was that damn good looking at all? She hated his

guts, his arrogance and most of all, his gold damn ego. It was so big that she could slice it in years

without even reaching half.

"I'm taking my shower in one of the rooms so that we can hurry up," she said turning to open the door.

"I thought you were smart than that," he stopped her," I mean you're a doctor and one of the best in the

country if I may add. But when it comes to this relationship, you're dumber than I thought."1

Maya turned around,"excuse me?" She was fighting her tears back.

"You heard me, Jezebel," he moved towards her,"in this house, I run the show. So better step back and

watch."

Maya was about to speak when she was pushed from the door to the floor. Her arms hit the cold floor

first bruising her elbows. She moaned in pain and pulled herself towards the place where she had

called her bed yesterday night.

"You will stay there as the little puppy you're," he moved closer to her,"and wait till I come out of that

bathroom," he held her chin inflicting pain in it,"do we understand each other daughter of Jezebel?"8

Maya was trying her best to hold her tears back but she couldn't anymore,"yes Sir."13

The tears fell the moment she spoke those words. Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

"Good," he realised her chin,"and wipe those tears," he wiped them getting up,"remember, devil, that

it's just the beginning," and with that he walked away.3
