Chapter 3195
Chapter 3195
As for Grandma May-Dylan had gone looking for her once before and she told him to handle it himself.
When he asked her to let him choose someone else, she said she had only picked a candidate for him. If he really did not like her choice, he could find someone he fancied, but the person had to pass the character test.
Dylan felt Chameleon Fox's character was not bad. She might be a little hot-tempered, but she was still reasonable. He just did not know her family background.
"Are you done with work?" Serenity asked Zachary warmly. Her warm voice pulled Dylan out of his reverie.
Zachary hummed. "Yeah. We can go now."
Serenity stood up and called out, "Sonny, put your book back. We're heading for dinner now."
Sonny made a sound in acknowledgment and immediately shoved his book back into his bag before carrying it on his back. Then, he spread his arms out at Zachary, begging his uncle to carry him. Zachary picked him up and tapped his nose fondly. "You still want me to carry you, huh."
"Once I get bigger, you won't be able to carry me anymore."
Zachary laughed. "In that case, I'll have to make the best out of it now while I can still carry you. Otherwise, once you're all grown up and I'm old, I won't be able to carry you anymore."
Sonny wore a haughty look. As Zachary carried the little boy, he freed a hand to hold Serenity's.
Dylan immediately felt like he was a gigantic third wheel. Not daring to make a sound and minimizing his presence behind them, he followed silently, lest Zachary notice him.
York Corporation was not far from Wiltspoon Hotel. Soon, they arrived at their destination.
Dylan followed Zachary and Serenity into the hotel, still unable to guess why he had been invited. Peter texted him from time to time, asking him what benefits he was getting and that he should share with the rest of them.
Dylan could not help but reply: [You have no idea how anxious I feel right now. Want some of that? Serenity said I did something bad and Zachary said I've embarrassed the Yorks.]Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Dylan sent Peter a voice note in a whisper, "I'm so nervous right now I can't even think straight. I have no idea how I embarrassed the family."
Peter's voice note reply included a
beat of silence before he spoke, "[Dylan, have you gotten into big trouble? Can you even stomach the food later? Ha! I told you, there's no way Zack and Serenity wouldn't have told us if something good happened and only told
So it
turns out that you're in trouble."
Dylan's expression was dark.
Why did he feel like Peter was reveling in his misery?
Peter stopped replying to Dylan. After all, it was not a good thing that Zachary and Serenity were treating Dylan to dinner.
If something good had happened, Zachary and Serenity would not have forgotten the rest of them. They were his cousins and brothers, after all.
As Dylan was family, Zachary and Serenity took the elevator up to the presidential suite as usual where Zachary normally rested.
"Wait here for a moment, Dylan. I've
invited someone to join us and I'm texting her now to come upstairs. Help me greet her at the door later," said Serenity suddenly after she turned around when they entered the suite.
Dylan relaxed when he heard Serenity had even invited someone else to join them. They would give him some grace if there was an outsider around. "Okay."
He readily agreed.
Serenity called the phone number on the name card Imogen had provided.
Imogen quickly picked up. "Ms. Hunt."
"Are you free right now, Ms. Doyle?"
Imogen was silent for a moment before she said, "I stayed put when you said you were treating me to dinner tonight, afraid I would miss the opportunity."
Serenity laughed. "I'm in the
penthouse suite at Wiltspoon Hotel right now. You can take the elevator straight up. I have someone waiting for you. You'll see him right after you get out of the elevator." S
"Alright, I'll come over right now," Imogen replied.
"I'll see you soon, then."
