Seed of Possession

Chapter 62: NewsFlash

Lorenzo returned to the mansion with a deep bruise on his face. The servants almost didn’t notice him, but thanks to Chandrea, who was by his side, they immediately noticed him.

“Are you sure you won’t go to the hospital? Your face is almost disfigured from the heavy punches Xander landed on you. I hope there are no broken bones in your cheeks,” Chandrea said as she examined Lorenzo’s face.

“Shut up, will you! I just need to rest, and I don’t want to hear anything from your stupid mouth,” Lorenzo hissed, clearly not in the mood.

He needed to execute his plan as quickly as possible. He had to see his grandfather and share what he’d learned to disqualify Xander from the position of the head of the family.

“I need to see Grandfather,” Lorenzo said to Chandrea.

“That’s impossible. I just heard from the head butler that the head has gone somewhere,” Chandrea announced.

“What? Damn,” Lorenzo muttered, wincing as he touched his ribs.

“Hey, calm down for a minute, okay? You can talk to the head wherever you want. Do you have evidence against that woman?” Chandrea asked.

Lorenzo nodded in agreement with Chandrea. He understood what she meant. As long as he had evidence to show the head, he would win the game, technically becoming the only one left in the succession.

“Call a servant and ask them to get me ice packs for my face,” Lorenzo instructed Chandrea. She raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms.

“I think cold packs won’t be enough for you. Go to the hospital and get yourself treated there! Have a scan or an MRI; I bet you have broken bones or internal bleeding,” Chandrea insisted, moving closer to him.

“Does it not hurt?” Chandrea asked as she touched Lorenzo’s face, causing him to grimace in pain.

“Move away!” Lorenzo hissed, and Chandrea laughed at his reaction.

“You idiot! Are you going to face the head in this condition? If Xander sees you here in the mansion, he’ll punch you again, and that punch might be lethal.”

“Huh! Good for him. He won’t qualify.”

“Yes, he won’t qualify, but he’ll still be alive and the owner of his billion-dollar tech company, while you’ll be six feet under and rotting,” Chandrea sarcastically remarked. Just then, a sudden knock interrupted them.

“Master Lorenzo, Madam Chantal is missing!”

It was a chaotic night in the Monteverdes’ main mansion. The head was missing, and no one knew where he was. Giselle roamed the mansion with a gun in her hands, while Xander was irritable, searching for Giselle’s daughter. He used all his connections and hacked all the systems, but he still couldn’t find the child. Meanwhile, Chantal was missing in the mansion, and Lorenzo immediately ordered a search party to look for his wife and contacted the office.

“Oh, gosh! What’s happening to them? Where is the head and the head butler? The Masters and Madam are all going crazy,” one of the servants said while hiding in a hallway corner.

“I want to quit because of what’s happening, but I can’t find a job with a salary that matches what I make here!”

“Money is nothing if you’re dead! The people we’re serving are all nuts!” a middle-aged woman servant remarked, glaring at the one who had commented about the salary earlier.

“Manang Edna, don’t look at Ellen like that; you know her circumstances and why she said that. Besides, we’re all scared about what’s happening. The house is a mess because the head is missing, and we don’t know what’s going on,” one of the maids explained their situation.

“Hello!”

All the maids jumped when they heard a little voice behind them. They slowly turned their heads and sighed in relief when they saw it was only Flora.

“Why are you hiding in the corner?” Flora innocently asked. Manang Edna gently pulled Flora closer.

“We were just playing and didn’t want to get caught. Can you walk away and pretend you didn’t see us?” Manang Edna softly said to Flora.

“By the way, Miss Flora, why are you here?” Ellen said in a shaky voice.

“Oh, I’m just searching for Mommy!” Flora replied. After she said that, all the maids in the corner looked at each other, as they knew where the Madam was.

“Little Miss, your Mommy is just with her friends. She is just fixing something,” Ellen reassured Flora.

“Oh, yes! Your mother is just fixing something,” Manang Edna agreed with what Ellen said.

“I haven’t seen her for a week now,” Flora pouted and crossed her arms.

“Well, she will come back, Miss Flora. But for now, walk away from us and go to your Nanny Miranda, ; she’s in your room,” Manang Edna suggested, trying to get Flora to leave as they wanted to hide quietly in the corner.

The reasons they wanted to hide in the corner were twofold: first, to make it easier to leave the mansion when the riot happened, and second, they didn’t want to attend to their Mistresses and Master. They also wanted to avoid the other servants who were loyal to the Monteverdes. Their group was just a normal one, here in the Monteverdes’ mansion solely to earn money, and this was the first time they witnessed something like this in the mansion.

“Okay, goodbye!” Flora waved her hand as a sign of farewell before she left and ran away from them. As soon as Flora left, the servants breathed a sigh of relief. They looked at each other, smiled, and laughed as they tried to dispel the fear and nervousness they were feeling right now.

“How long are we going to hide in this corner?” one of the maids asked, gazing down the corridor.

“Until 3:00 am. By that time, for sure, our Masters will all be asleep. I don’t want to serve them right now. I want to live long,” Manang Edna answered as she hugged herself out of fear.

” LORENZO! DONT RUN YOU MOTHERF*CKER!”

All of the servants who were hiding in the corridor had their eyes widen when they heard Chandrea’s voice calling for Master Lorenzo. They all covered their mouths and concealed themselves in the darkest corner where no light could reach.

“MASTER LORENZO”

“LORENZO”

“WHAT?!” Lorenzo shouted as he looked at the people calling him, Chandrea and the maid servant.

The maid immediately bowed her head out of fear, while Chandrea crossed her arms and raised her eyebrows.

“This maid saw Giselle bringing Chantal out of the room. So stop running, you idiot!” Chandrea said, rolling her eyes out of annoyance.

“Is that true?”

“Y-yes, Master Lorenzo. The nanny of Miss Flora was also there helping Giselle attend to Chantal,” the maid answered, her body shaking from fear as she felt Lorenzo’s sharp gaze pierce her down to her soul, as if she were being scrutinized by the devil.

“That nanny! I knew something was wrong with that nanny! I bet she’s the one who leaked information about Chantal’s condition!” Lorenzo exclaimed in frustration, biting his lower lip.

“Don’t worry, Chantal was drugged. She can’t reveal your secrets. Check the hospitals; maybe she’s at one where Krizza is working,” Chantal said, trying to reassure Lorenzo that Chantal couldn’t do anything at the moment.

“That drug is potent, Lorenzo. Even doctors can’t treat it without taking the first step to decrease its effect. Even a horse can’t withstand it. The effect will last for years, so don’t worry too much, my darling,” Chandrea said, caressing Lorenzo’s cheeks and planting a kiss on his cheek.

“O-okay, you’re right. She can’t do anything right now. I made sure to put a lot of drugs in her system. The last time I saw her, she wasn’t moving in bed, and her body was stiff,” Lorenzo explained.

Chantal moved away from Lorenzo upon hearing this. “Lorenzo, did you use all of what I gave you?” Chantal asked, panic building up inside her. The drugs she gave Lorenzo were enough for years if used on Chantal for a week. It could lead to heart failure.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

“Yes, I used it all at once,” Lorenzo admitted.

“What?! What did you do, Lorenzo?! I told you to use only 10 grams a day!” Chandrea exclaimed, leaving Lorenzo bewildered by her reaction.

“Gosh!” Chandrea said, touching her chest and squeezing it.

“What’s happening to you?” Lorenzo asked Chandrea, but he only received a deathful glare in response.

“You,” Chandrea pointed at the maid servant who had reported about Giselle and Chantal.

“Search for Chantal’s whereabouts, and if you find anything, report it to me. I will reward you,” Chandrea ordered the maid.

“Lorenzo, you really are a piece of shit!”

Lorenzo was confused about what Chandrea was telling him at that moment.

“What did I do wrong?” Lorenzo asked, which made Chandrea chuckle.

“You’re giving her a heart failure, you idiot! You know that I still need her for my plans, for our plans, and yet you did that to her? Remember, Lorenzo, Chantal’s influence is what elevated you to the pedestal, and once she’s gone, you’ll fall down in the blink of an eye,” Chantal said seriously as she looked down the corridor.

“Aishhh… Fix those things,” Chandrea said to Lorenzo while glancing at the corridor.

“There are rats in there.”
