The battle of succession, A tradition that has been running through the Monteverde’s since the Medieval period. A battle that will give a chance to the participants to be the head of the family and to have a hold on the massive family fortune. The candidate for the inheritance should have passed the criteria before to be officially announced as a participant of the Battle of succession.

The first round of the battle of succession is the bloodline. The candidate must have a direct blood connection to the Head master. The Headmaster children and Grandchildren are the only ones who can be a candidate. Cousin and Niece are all excluded.

The second round of the battle of succession is the academical standing and Martial arts and sword skills. The candidate must have a perfect academic standing in school. And she or he must Master the Martial arts and swordplay. If the person doesn’t meet the two requirements they will automatically fall out of being a candidate.

The third round of the battle of succession is the success of the company that the head will be given to the aspiring candidate. If the company revenue goes down just 1% a year after the head give the company. The aspiring candidate will automatically fall out to the battle of succession.

The fourth and last round of the battle of succession is having a child. The child must be beautiful according to the tradition and beliefs of the ancestors. But there’s more meaning to be beautiful and the final participants must know the meaning of it for their child to be the key to their success.

While waiting for the result of the fourth round, The participants must build a relationship between his family to gather support from the other factions of the family. And the participants must also prove his skills in terms of managing business and managing the family’s enemy. The next head should be smart, wise, brave and know how to handle the family. The head should be the foundation of the Monteverde’s.

All of the three stages of succession are completed and now Xander is just waiting for his child to be born from Giselle.

” You know that you still can’t feel the baby ” Giselle said while staring at Xander who is listening to the sound of her stomach. Both of them are in the bed of their room. Giselle was sitting down while her back rested on the head board of the bed and Xander was resting his head on the stomach of Giselle. Trying to feel the baby on her stomach.

” I know she is down with those dry crown flowers in front of the door. I just know it. And my feelings have never been wrong from begin with” Giselle answered as she looked at Xander’s face.

” I’m not seeing you as pathetic, I just feel bad for the child. You should think what a child might think if her parents must wear gloves and cover clothes just to touch and hug her. It will affect her while growing up. ” Giselle answered as she touched his both cheeks to make Xander face her.

She stared down at him ” Even you create this child just to win the battle of succession but at the end you are the father who wants her or him to bring in this world. You should take care of your child and make them feel the things you didn’t feel while growing up. ” Giselle added as she move Xander head away from her laps.

” After this child is born, I will go away to a place where the child will never meet me. It’s impossible for you to marry a woman to be the child’s mother because of your condition and position in the family. Even if you can give the child all she or he wants. At the end this child will only want you to be with him or her all the time ” Giselle seriously said.

” Why are you saying all of these all the sudden?” Xander said that makes Giselle smirk.

” I believe you know the answer ” Giselle meaningfully said as she lay down on the bed.

” I’m being dramatic because of hormones, But all the things that I said, I mean it. All of them I mean it ” Giselle added as she left a deep sigh before she glanced at Xander and smiled.

Xander just looked at her silently. He took a deep breath before he moved closer to Giselle and moved on top of her.
