SEDUCING MY STEPBROTHER

Chapter 8 LET’S HAVE SOME FUN

“I thought she was my friend, mom. I thought we were best friends, but she lied to me all these years.” her cries didn’t abate one bit.

“I don’t understand what you are talking about. What happened between you and Kira?” She asked, her eyes portraying her confusion.

“Are you sure you are not angry because I wanted to get married to Balthas?”

“What? No! Why would you even think such a thing?”NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.

“Kira told me that is why you got drunk last night because you wanted to drink away the pain of having to live with your stepfather.”

A laugh barrels its way out of me as I stared at my mom’s guilty face. I should have known she wouldn’t leave without causing more damage.

“She is a terrible liar, mom; she knows how to guilt-trip anyone into believing all her lies.”

“I don’t understand what you are trying to say.” Mom frowned, and I looked down at my hands.

Saying everything again pains me, but I had to let my mom know the truth, so she won’t blame herself.

“Kira tried to drug me last night, and then have some people rape me.” my heart clenched, even though I still couldn’t believe she would do such a thing to me.

“What!? My mom sprang away from me, and I didn’t have to turn to know she was angry.

“How could she do such a thing to you?” Her voice was loud.

“I am also confused right now. I thought everything was perfect, but I guess it is not,” I sniffed. “She hated me because all the guys she liked wanted to be with me because I’m still a virgin.”

“That is ridiculous!” mom bellowed. “How can she hate you on that basis? How is it your fault that the guys like you instead?”

I remained silent after that, wallowing in my thoughts.

Mom was suddenly beside me again; she placed her hand on my back and stroked it gently. I leaned on her shoulder and let out the tears until I fell asleep.

12 P. M SAME DAY

I woke up to someone running down my back gently, and I sat up at once.

“You are awake?” Mom asked beside me, and a sigh of relief left my lips.

I bobbed my head and she pull me into a hug, still stroking my back.

“I am so sorry you had to go through all that baby, but I want you to know this,” she paused. “You are a strong woman, and you only deserve the best.”

I shook my head on her shoulder, refusing to shed one more tear.

“I already packed your things,” she announced. “We would leave in the next two hours but before then.”

She moved back and looked into my eyes. “Where do you want us to go?”

“For what?” I frowned in confusion.

“I want us to have a mother-daughter time together before we leave, so where would it be.”

I smiled then, I had always wanted to go out with my mom, just the two of us alone without anyone to interrupt.

I told her where and 30 minutes later, mom pulled over to the game station.

“You are kidding me,” she groaned.

“We can’t have all the fun just standing here mom, we need to go in,” I nudge her towards the entrance, where she paid for both our tickets.

We went in and I could hear her gasp behind me.

“I told you it is the best place you could ever visit,” I winked at her, but she was too engrossed in the scenery that she didn’t hear me

“Balthas would be happy to come here,” she muttered, and I frowned.

“Who is Balthas?” I asked her, confused.

This seems to draw her attention to me.

“I told you who Balthas was on the first day I met him, Lexi, I can’t believe you don’t remember your stepfather’s name.”

“To be,” I correct her

She rolled her eyes at me. “Still the same Lexi, I can’t believe you don’t remember him.”

“I’m sorry mom, I wasn’t paying attention to the names, I was too engrossed with the ring at the moment.”

“That–”

“We came here to have our mother-daughter time remember, you don’t want to ruin it with an argument about your husband-to-be name, right?” She accused.

Daphne rolled her eyes yet again, causing Lexi to smile at her.

She pulled at her mother’s hand and took her to the dance section.

“No way am I getting on that,” she moved back. “I would look like a toad trying to jump around.”

“You will be fine mom trust me,” she pulled her closer. “Besides, look.”

Daphne stared in the direction she is pointing, and she didn’t know when she starts laughing.

A few meters away from them, a lot of parents were trying to dance as fast as they can, but that wasn’t what caught her attention.

It was the old woman trying but failing to wriggle her body with the beat of the song.

“I bet she can dance better than you,” Lexi teased.

“That is a joke, right?” Daphne glared at her daughter, who negatively nodded her head.

“Is that a challenge?” She dimmed her eyes.

“Yes, and the one who wins will wash the dishes,” she clicked her tongue.

“Ha! I know what you are trying to do here young lady, you want to skip the chores tonight,” she smirked.

“You are about to see your plan fail.”

Daphne pushed her bag into Lexi’s arm, flexing her muscles a bit, she got on the machine and click on play.

She looks back at Lexi and points two of her fingers in the direction of her eyes before pointing them back at the machine.

The music started and Daphne took her time to display her perfect dance moves.

A smile found its way to Lexi’s lip as she watches her mother dance without caring about her surroundings.

A sigh left her lip, she placed their bag in the safe compartment before joining her. Mother and daughter dancing to their heart content.
