Chapter 8
Elaine parked the car in the underground garage of her apartment.
Before getting out of the car, Elaine took another look at the photo of Anson staring at her affectionately on Twitter, and she let out a sneer.
Martin frowned slightly, saying, “Elena, I’m worried that you might be in danger.”
Elaine didn’t speak. Her beautiful eyes seemed to be covered with a mist, hiding all her emotions.
Back then, there were few people who knew that she was going to meet Lamia. When arriving at the coffee shop, Elaine suddenly found out that it had been booked out.
Therefore, as soon as Martin arranged for her to go abroad. Elaine asked him to investigate Lamia.
“The only one who can erase everything is Anson. Let’s see how far he can protect Lamia!” Elaine unbuckled her seat belt. “I’ll head upstairs.”
“Elena!” Martin suddenly grabbed her arm
Elaine looked back and frowned in confusion.
“Elena, you’ve already been in danger from the moment the photo was posted!”
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. There is some truth in the old saying” She smiled, having braced herself for the risk
“I am worried about you!”
Elaine said, “I am no longer the person I was at five years ago!”
She had long abandoned her kindness.
Now, nothing could stand in her way.

“For all these years, I’ve been so lucky to have you,” she smiled broadly and said, “Martin, thank you!”
Martin’s eyes darkened. “Elena, you know that’s not what I’ve been expecting!
The atmosphere instantly became extremely dull and awkward.
Elaine remained silent for a long time. Martin felt sad and suppressed all his emotions, ‘Go upstairs. Don’t be angry with the kids.”
“Okay. I get it.”
Elaine quickly opened the car door, got out of the car, and entered the elevator without looking back.
As the elevator door closed slowly, she closed her eyes.
“Martin, I’m sorry she said to herself.
She knew well about Martin’s feelings for her in the past five years.
But she didn’t want to drag him down.
She believed he deserved better.
Before going in, Elaine took deep breaths repeatedly to adjust her mood and then opened the door.
The room was immersed in darkness, making her frown in confusion.
As she was about to switch on the lights, she saw the candles flickering, and the three kids pushed a cart toward her with a big cake on it.
Elaine was stunned.
“Mommy, today is our first day in Denvil City!” Julian spoke first.
“Congratulations on our new home!” Eddy continued.
Evie looked at her with a smile. “Mommy, congratulations! Let’s be happy every day!”
All the unhappiness in Elaine’s heart disappeared.
She was on the verge of tears and could barely speak a word.
“Mommy, let’s eat the cake. I’m starving!” When Evie laughed, the two small dimples at the corners of her mouth loomed, adding extra cuteness to her adorable look.
“Okay!” Tears welled up in Elaine’s eyes.
She believed that her kids were the best in the whole world.
Elaine hugged them and kissed them one by one, and she didn’t pursue the previous matter anymore.
Evie dipped her fingers in some cream and mischievously caught Julian and Eddy off guard by rubbing the cream on their cheeks.
Evie! Come on. Ill give you the same makeup!”
Eddy was outgoing. He pressed the cake and ran after Evie with his hands full of cream.
Evie was terrified and hid behind Elaine.
“Mommy, I am the most beautiful little fairy in the world. I don’t want to be smeared!”
Elaine was amused by her words.
Seeing that Evie was under Elaine’s protection, Eddy turned to chase Julian.
The whole room was full of laughter, making Elaine feel joyful and sweet.
The three kids were tired from running, so they sat together and started eating cake…
“Mommy, you’ve been working hard all day. Eddy and I can take a bath by ourselves. You just need to take care of Evie,” Julian said caringly.
Elaine was touched by his words. “Are you sure?”
“Of course!” Julian looked at Eddy.
Eddy squared his shoulders. “Mommy, we are men now!”
If it wasn’t that they couldn’t tell what they had done to Anson, Eddy would have told Elaine proudly that they avenged her a little.
Julian looked at him and pouted. “Mommy, we lied to you today!
Elaine didn’t intend to pursue what happened during the day as they were enjoying this lovely moment.
Since Julian took the initiative to mention it, she looked at them with a serious face and crossed her arms.
“Are you going to confess to me?”
“Mommy,” Julian raised his head. “We didn’t play hide-and-seek but secretly ordered a cake with our pocket money. We want to give you a surprise.”
“Then what about Evie’s wrist?”
Elaine knew that Evie had been pinched by an adult.
Julian remained calm. “It’s a…”
Elaine’s gaze fixed on Evie. “Evie, you tell me.”
The three kids had discussed everything in advance. Evie said inn low voice, “I was careless when I was crossing the road, so lady grabbed my wrist to save me.”
“Really?”
“Of cours!” Eddy said.
Staring at them for a while, Elaine said, “I will not pursue this matter for the time being. You must promise me that no matter what happens in the future, you can’t wander around again. Understand?”
The kids nodded in unison.
“Okay. Let’s go take a shower!”
After Elaine bathed Evie and coaxed the kids to sleep, she began to draw the design.
Then, she received a new email in her mailbox.
It was the detailed information of several kindergartens that Martin had found for the kids.
Elaine looked at it seriously, torn between Madie Kindergarten and Sunshine Kindergarten.
She planned to take the kids over tomorrow to see which kindergarten they preferred.
Anson lost sleep.
He wondered about the relationship between Evie and Elena, who both looked very similar to Elaine.
“Milo, help me investigate Elena, the chief designer of Sevier Group.”
Milo also saw the photo of Anson staring at a woman on the racing track.
Although he could only see Elaine’s back, he was sure this woman must be gorgeous.
“Mr. Cameron, is Elena the one who raced with you?”
Anson didn’t say anything.
“Mr. Cameron, do you want to poach her into the Cameron Group?
