Chapter 5

Chapter 5

"what are the odds of falling in love with you?"

It's a week since the elections.

"Ugh..." I fiddled with the countless amount of paperwork in front of me, each with their own reports. And unluckily enough for me, the vice president actually does all the work while the president just maintains the image of the student council. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

And that of course, would be Jeon Juanfuck.

"vice prezzie," a pitchy voice called out to me, gaining my undivided attention. It wasn't as if I gotten myself used to the new nickname , but more like I hated the term so much it snaps me out of focus.

"you can call me Soojung instead" I forced a smile at the female student behind me. Even though the position is so infuriating, I still had to uphold my image as part of the student council.

"Soojung, I need to ask you for a favour. You're supposed to help others right?~" her lips curved into a cheeky smile as she tugged my arm.

"What is it?" my face fell when I discovered she had a motive. Well, it wasn't like I expected to befriend anyone, anyway. I've set myself a goal to avoid all human interaction so I'll have a job that pays me like 10 million won.

And the elections were supposed to be a stepping stone for my ultimate goal, only to be taken by Juanfuck.

"Uhm..." She continues, eyeing at me with a begging expression. "Can you perhaps replace me and go to a blind date?"

"Huh? Why would I?" I furrowed my brows at her ridiculous request. Why ask me, of all people. I want to be single forever.

"Pleasee! I was curious and I stalked the guy I was going to meet, and he's super ugly in his profile picture" she explained to me, obviously trying to push the consequences onto myself.

"No." I said firmly, before turning back to the study materials on my desk.

"Look vice prezzie, if you go, I'll treat you to food for an entire week." She smirks, knowing fully about my family situation.

"Why didn't you say so earlier, I'm in." I immediately accepted her bribe when food was mentioned.

"well, fuck it. Not like I'm gonna try to impress them anyway" I mumbled to myself as the reflection on the mirror showed my sweat pants, tousled hair and baggy clothing. It's literally what I wear to sleep.

I head towards the location that the girl had told me about, with a sour look on my face. Hopefully, this "ugly dude" will get turned off by my unruly appearance.

When I entered the rustic looking cafe, my eyes spotted the emptiness right away. There were almost no customers inside, and I was the only one.

"hory shiet" I smiled to myself in delight when I scanned through the menu items. I made my mind to scoff my face in front of the date.

And that's when I was interrupted by the wind chime, indicating that someone had entered the store. I glanced at the stranger briefly.

WAIT.

I blinked a few times , thinking that I must be dreaming. Actually if I was, it wouldn't be a dream, but a nightmare.

"Soojung? The heck are you doing here?" Jungkook sat on the vacant seat opposite mine, slightly confused.

"Why do I have to tell you? Obviously came for food" I rolled my eyes. If he knew I came for a date he would probably tease me until the day I die.

"Well...I'm waiting for someone. But i guess they were scared and decided not to come" Jungkook snickers as he scrolled through his phone.

And that's when something clicked in my head.

"You couldn't be....this person right?" I flashed the profile picture in his face. Jungkook's eyes widened when he saw it.

"She asked you to meet me instead? That's pretty shallow, avoiding me just because of appearance" He smiles victoriously.

"But why? You're handsome, so why woul-

And right there I paused, registering that I had just complimented my sworn enemy.

"you're cute to me too." He smirks slightly, his knee deliberately hitting on mine under the table because he extended his leg.

"What is with you? Suddenly kissing my ass." I folded my arms, glaring at him with suspicion. His eyes lit up at my statement.

"I'd like that" he answers.

"what?"

"kissing your ass. I'm willing to do beyond that as well..." he replied again, the smug expression still plastered on his face.

"I'd like to order a chestnut cake please!" I ignored him and turned to face the person behind the counter.

"Since we're both here already, let's just go along with the date" Jungkook frowns when I brushed off his words.

"No, can't you see how I'm dressed? It's to scare you away" I started to tie my hair up into a messy bun.

"I think it's really cute when girls are laidback like this, I'm attracted to it" Jungkook stares into my eyes.

"bitch there's a difference between laidback and looking homeless" I pointed at the holes on my shirt.

"Alright, just hang out with me today, okay? Just today." Jungkook pleaded me, yanking the fork away from my hand so I would concentrate on him.

"It's just me and this lovely, seductive looking cake in front of me today. Please go home and watch some dramas if you're bored" I gestured at him to shoo him away, all while chewing the cake in my mouth.

"Why are you so hard to get?" amusement was in his tone of voice. He seemed to be intrigued at whatever I'm saying.

"Don't compare me with those fangirls of yours, I wouldn't be as stupid to spend my time admiring you" I finished the cake in a flash, wiping my mouth that had leftover crumbs on it.

"Now if you would excuse me," I stood up from the chair. "Eggs are especially cheap today, and it's almost time for the special sale"

Jungkook then follows my figure as I disappeared out of the shop, carrying my tote bag for groceries.

"fuck...No way. There's absolutely no way." Jungkook begun denying himself as he came to realize the thundering sound of his heart.
