Chapter 14

part one

"your love is like a deadly drug, I need it badly, and yet it kills my soul."

"you're wearing a hoodie?..." Jungkook leans in slowly, buckling the seatbelt for me in a painfully slow motion. He pulls away, his blueish hue contacts staring right into my eyes, giving me his undivided attention.

"....cute" a smile creeped up the corners of his lips, threatening me to break out in a blush. Normally, I would've responded with a no shit sherlock, but somehow, I was trapped in this tense atmosphere again, where his presence was intimidatingly seductive.

When I sneaked a glance at him, Jungkook looked breathtaking. The way his suit nicely shaped his built body, it probably made girls faint and ovaries pop. Why the hell am in a car with a guy like this?

Oh right. I agreed.

He had cornered me with a temptation too unresistable to bare, especially when I don't have the financial ability to afford luxuries. He's mentioned how the party will include extravagant catering, and homegirl here needs her food.

So here we are, seated in his way too overpriced vehicle. Just how many mcnuggets can I afford with this car?

Whilst I was distracted in the land of the mcnuggets and everything happy, Jungkook snaps me into focus.

He is leaning against the steering wheel, looking flawless and ethereal. My eyes immediately darted to his arms where the sleeves were rolled up, showing off the curves of his biceps. His bare collarbone glistened with slight sweat, and it made me feel things.

"I hate to say, as much as I love how adorable you look in your sweatpants, the socialites expect a more dressed-up attire..." He trails off, a smirk forming on his face.

"I don't care about those rich scumbags, I'm going to stuff my face when I get there anyway" I answered, smiling back.

"I'm sure..." Jungkook twinkled with amusement, his hands travelling to tuck a stray hair behind my ear. "but I want to show off my girlfriend to them, so spare me."

"Um." was the only word I could fathom, as I couldn't process the situation that I was in at the moment. Jungkook had been referring to me as his lover the entire evening, and I'm not too sure if it was on purpose.

"How about this one?" the store assistant held up a bunch of gorgeous and flashy dresses, causing me to break out in nervous stutters. I had taken one look at the pricetag, and let's just say it wasn't as pretty as the gown. NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

"Wear this," Jungkook hands me a gown he picked, which was a laced, bodycon dress. It was a stunning off-white, paired with the unique cutting that showed off the curves of the person who adorned it.

"It looks like something I'd pick." I responded, staring at the dress and back at him. A smirk materialised on his lips, and he adjusted the sleeves on his shirt.

"It looks like something I'd love to see you in too." he stares at me with half opened eyes and parted lips. If there's a right time to have a cardiac arrest, then it's now.

I fought off my flusteredness and went away to change, escaping his sexy glares. He's just a friend. That's right, Jungkook. Juancock. Jungfuck. Junglecock. aihdjejdNdkdk

When I hurriedly put on the dress and slide the curtains to the side, I had locked eyes with the man waiting for me.

Jungkook stares at me from tip to toe, his eyes widening slightly as minutes passed by. There was an obvious shock in his expression, and I caught a glance of his adam's apple bobbing when he took small gulps.

"Why? Is it weird? I'll chang-" I was cut off when he softly snakes a hand across my waist, pulling me closer to him. I feel his tempting gaze pierced into me as I stumbled slightly into his chest.

"somehow, I find it annoying that there might be men swooning all over you later" Jungkook bites his bottom lip, reddening it as he released it slowly.

I was too taken aback to make a statement at this point. Jungkook pulls me along, making sure I stuck close to him.

It took us another hour to get me makeup and hair ready. During the whole process, his gaze never left my side.

"woooAH" my voice belted when I tripped a little in my high heels. Fortunately, I had grasped onto Jungkook just in time before I made myself an embarrassing mess.

"lean on me, babe." he says nonchantly, his voice slightly deeper than usual. Jungkook wraps an arm firmly around my back, our bodies pressed together.

So far, none of this had been what I predicted it to be. I had envisioned myself comfortably wolfing down some fancy crusine, all the while uncaring about my image. But this. How did I end up trying to get used to my rival treating me so lovingly? And the strangest thing was, I didn't hate it.

On the road towards our destination, I fiddled nervously in my seat, thinking about the other life I was going to enter. The party - it must be full of rich and gorgeous ladies, if the sole purpose was for Jungkook to pick one of them.

I hadn't notice my trembling hands until Jungkook slides his hand onto mine, entertwining our fingers together.

"It's fine. I'm here."

His assuring words had an affect on me. It gave me some sort of ease, and I relaxed in my seat a little.

"I'm not sure if I can do anything to convince your parents, Jungkook...." I said with a shaky voice, staring intently at our hands held together.

"I'm not sure if I can do anything at all."

As the car stops at a red light, Jungkook's eyes glistened when he turns to look at me. A sickly sweet smile made its way onto his lips.

"Soojung.." he calls me softly, sensually, and gazes at me as if I was his, and at that moment, I felt like I belonged to him.

"All I ask for you is to love me for tonight."
