Chapter 1198

Skylar’s eyes lit up when she saw Minerva as well “This is fate.

When did you two meet?” Caleb was quite surprised.

To him, Minerva and Skylar seemed like two people with completely different personalities The Reids were strict, and they had high expectations for Minerva, especially regarding her friends, who had to come from prominent families.

While Skylar was undoubtedly exceptional, she didn’t come from such a background. So, seeing the two so familiar with each other caught him off guard.

Minerva laughed and said, “We’ve known each other for many years, and we’re very good friends. It’s been a few years since we last met.

“Caleb, you’ve grown up! And you even managed to have Skylar as your date for the evening. Well done!”

“I’ve grown up a long time ago, okay?” Caleb’s mouth twitched. Today, he had met many people, and every one of them mentioned how he’d grown up, each one more surprised than

the last.

It was driving him crazy! Not only had he grown up, but he was a man now, standing at six feet tall. How could anyone still see him as a kid?

Minerva couldn’t help but laugh. “Yeah, you’ve grown a lot over the years. I remember when we last met, you were only a little taller than me. Now, you’re a whole head taller.” Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

Caleb felt a little proud at the compliment.

“Come on, let’s go over there. The cakes are pretty good. Let’s try some,” Minerva said as she linked her arm with Skylar’s and started to lead her away.

Seeing Caleb trying to follow, Minerva turned back and said, “I’m going to chat privately with Skylar. You go over there and have some fun.”

Caleb rolled his eyes. What was he supposed to do for fun? Minerva was still treating him like a kid. But he didn’t follow them as he spotted some of his friends nearby.

Minerva picked up a plate of small cakes and handed one to Skylar, “I tried this one earlier when I was bored. It’s pretty good, not too sweet or heavy.”

Skylar, who liked small cakes, took a bite and found that Minerva was right. “This is delicious, just the way I like it.”

“Are you planning to leave again?” Minerva asked casually.

Skylar nodded and said, “Yes, I’m planning to stay for about a month before heading back to Murida. Is your fiancé here today?” She hadn’t noticed earlier, but it seemed like Minerva had

come alone

A couple of months ago, Minerva had mentioned that she was getting engaged.

She met her fiancé while studying abroad, and he was also from Jipsburg. His family was politically influential, with a significant status and commanding respect even from the major families there.

Hearing that, Minerva blushed slightly, “He just returned to the country, so he has a lot of things to take care of. Besides, this kind of event isn’t suitable for him.”

“I’m happy for you, finding such a great partner” Skylar said, picking up two glasses of wine and handing one to Minerva.

They clinked their glasses and took a small sip. The faint–aroma of the wine lingered on their lips.

Minerva then smiled softly. “He is truly wonderful.”

Just as she finished speaking, a figure appeared behind her.

Skylar noticed Rowan first.

The two of them had been so engrossed in their conversation that they hadn’t realized anyone was nearby or seen when Rowan approached.

At first, Minerva also didn’t notice anyone behind her. After all, it was a charity gala. People constantly moved around. But when she sensed Skylar’s gaze shift, she quickly turned to look and met Rowan’s eyes directly.
