But soon another shocking news turned the tables. Sophia declared that the Skylane Group would

donate all the profit to charity organizations. Her decision quieted those critics, thus solving the problem

Chloe asked Sophia in the Facebook chat group, "Sophia, are you really going to donate the money?"

"Well, I'm not in for the profit after all. As to Drake, that cunning businessman just didn't want to share

the project with others so he asked me to help. What can I do?"

"You two really make a funny couple. How ridiculous this whole thing is."

Sophia was still wondering whether persuading Drake to act more mature around her was the right

thing to do or not. In fact, Sophia considered her husband a man with two faces; he could be a childish

boy sometimes but he could act like the most successful elite in the world.

After a while, Sophia received a call from Drake.

"Sweetie, do you appreciate the chance I gave you to build up your company's good reputation?"

"Stop being so annoying, Drake," said Sophia, a little vexed.

"You won't get anything after all if you didn't agree to join the project. But now your company has

established a good image. I would call it a good bargain."

different colors, blue, pink, purple, white and so many others. The bright colors immediately cheered

Drake said through the phone, "Bingo! How can you forget this important day? Thank you for looking

after me, our children, and our family. Sophia, this is your third birthday that we celebrate together and

Meanwhile, Mia walked in with presents in her hands. "Happy birthday, Miss Sophia!"

Following her were other assistants, all of them shouting, "Happy birthday!"

Sophia was astonished, "What? How can all of you know my birthday?"

family. We really appreciate it."

Others chimed in, "Thank you so much, Ms. Lawson."

Sophia didn't hang up, so she asked Drake with tears in her eyes, "Drake, I bet you still prepare other

surprises."

"Well, you can say that. This is your first birthday after our marriage and as your husband, it's my duty

to make you happy. I'll do anything for you, my love."

"Then... can you show up behind that door immediately?" asked Sophia hopefully.

"No..." Drake answered immediately.

"Oh, you're teasing me again, aren't you? You've prepared this big surprise for me. You must've come

yourself!"

"No, not this time. I still have work to do. But I'll show up at tonight's birthday party."

"I don't believe you!" Sophia knew Drake too well. Though he said so, he must've arrived.

Drake explained helplessly, "Not this time, really. I have important work to do. It's true."

Sophia seemed to be persuaded, "You're not lying to me?"

"No. I'll pick you up tonight. I'm going to give you the most memorable birthday party."

"Fine. Goodbye, then," said Sophia. She couldn't help but feel a little bit disappointed before hanging

up the phone.

Sophia turned to her colleagues and received their gifts. "Thank you, all of you. I promise to be a better

leader and make sure every one of you can have the chance to buy a car and a house and live a happy

life."

Everyone applauded.

What was more surprising was that leaders, assistants, and even employees from other companies

also came. Therefore, even before the birthday party, Sophia's office room was filled with gifts.

Mia laughed, "Ms. Lawson, just give the day off. I think unwrapping the gifts can keep you busy for the

rest of the day."

"OK, I'll do that." Sophia would take her time because she wanted to treasure the gifts and also the gift

Since Sophia indulged herself in opening the gifts, Mia left her alone.

Sophia had expected Drake to show up the whole morning so that she could share the joy with him, but

it seemed that he was really busy working. At noon, Sophia told the assistant to bring her lunch before

She kept unwrapping them until her hands were sore. But she had only opened about a hundred gifts

by then and there were still so many. So, Sophia decided to take some home while leaving the others

Overjoyed, Sophia turned around to look at him. "Drake! You're here! But you said you couldn't come."

"Oh, I was afraid that if I don't come, somebody will miss me so much that she will get sick. I don't want

my sweetie to get sick," teased Drake.

Sophia pretended to strike him, "Don't make fun of me, you nuisance!"

But Drake took her into his arms and said, "Happy birthday, my love."

Sophia's heart softened at once and she said mildly, "Thank you, darling."

"You don't need to thank me. That's what a husband should do for his wife." In fact, Drake had

promised Sophia many times that he would be there for her birthday every year and he never broke his

word.

Sophia didn't have much to do this afternoon, so she continued with her gifts, helped by Drake.

Meanwhile, Sophia asked, "How can you manage to contact all of my employees so secretly? I didn't

notice it at all!"

"Ah, this was easy. I told one of our IT members to put messages about your birthday into their

phones."

Sophia shook her head, "Fine, what can I say."

"Oh, you don't need to say anything. I just love you so much."

Hearing that, Sophia approached her husband smilingly and kissed him on his face. But Drake took the

chance to hold her face and kissed her lips passionately.
