Chapter 1067
Sophie stared at the folder in front of her, lost in thought for what felt like ages.
Gordon... Why would he give her such a lavish wedding gift? Was it really just to celebrate her marriage to Colby?
The next morning.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
Three of them were sprawled across the bed in various positions, while Angelo and Adler were comfortably asleep on the nearby couch. They slept soundly until the first light of dawn crept into Sophie's eyes. Sophie groggily woke up to find the bed covered in opened presents. Jenna and Sandy were lying beside her.
It suddenly hit Sophie-they had spent the entire previous night tearing through gifts and had eventually passed out from sheer exhaustion without even finishing.
"Colby?"
Sophie looked around, but apart from Colby's jacket draped over her, there was no sign of him.
*Knock, knock-*
A knock sounded at the door.
The noise woke everyone else in the room. Adler was the first to jump up from the couch, reacting instinctively: "I'm done! All the presents are opened! No more, please!" Jenna rubbed her eyes and got up from the bed, asking, "Adler, what's gotten into you so early in the morning?"
Sophie called out to the person at the door, "Come in."
The door swung open, and a server wheeled in a trolley, saying, "Ms. Sophie, this is the breakfast Mr. Colby asked us to deliver."
Sophie inquired, "He asked for breakfast to be sent up, but where is Colby himself?"
The server replied, "Mr. Colby went out early this morning, saying he'd be back in the afternoon."
Jenna frowned, looking at Adler, "What's Colby doing out so early?"
"How should I know? We spent the wedding night opening presents; he's probably bummed about it, Adler grumbled, his head pounding from last night's drinking, making waking up a disorienting experience.
Meanwhile, Sophie glanced at the food on the trolley and furrowed her brows.
At the same time-
Colby glanced across the poker table at Qdie, then down at his wristwatch, saying, "My wife should be waking up by now. If you're not planning to talk, don't waste my time."
Seeing Colby about to leave, Odie gave Jonah a look. Jonah immediately stepped in front of Colby, saying, "Colby, don't rush. We're still waiting for someone."
As he spoke, the door to the room suddenly opened. A man in a black shirt walked in slowly. When Colby saw who it was, his brows furrowed tightly.
Odie said, "Colby, let's put our past grievances aside. I attended your wedding yesterday, but now that it's over, we should settle our differences... Griffin, don't you agree?"
Griffin stood before Colby, his tone indifferent, "Colby, long time no see."
As soon as the words left his mouth, a moment of coldness flashed in Griffin's eyes. He then pulled out a small knife from his waistband and engaged Colby in close combat. Colby retreated a couple of steps but struggled to match Griffin's speed. Expressionless, Griffin slashed Colby's arm, leaving a cut.
Seeing this, Odie was taken aback and immediately stood up, shouting, "Stop!"
Griffin showed no intention of holding back, his moves were lethal. Realizing this, Colby stopped underestimating him and quickly created some distance between them.
