Chapter 157

“Ms. Sadler.”

Mayra glanced over and greeted, “Mr. Gorman.”

“Is there something wrong, Ms. Sadler?”

Mayra handed the medicine to him. “This is Andy’s medicine. The hotel manager rang the doorbell, but there was no response. I was just about to give it to him, but since you’re here, you can take it instead.”

“Ms. Sadler, you’re not going in?”

Mayra shook her head. “It’s not a good time. I’ll leave it to you, Mr. Gorman.”

She then returned to her room and closed the door.

Shane stared thoughtfully at Mayra’s door for a moment before turning to enter the room opposite.

Inside the room, the curtains were drawn and the room was pitch–black. The floor was a mess, and sitting on the bed was a man with a violent look in his eyes. On the floor lay a girl’s bracelet.

“Someone’s been here!”

Anderson, suffering from a splitting headache, frowned deeply. His eyes were dark and cold as he uttered, “Good–for–nothing!”

“My apologies, Mr. Barlow. It was my oversight. I didn’t expect her to be so bold. I’ll handle this matter properly.”

He then handed over the medicine. “Here’s the medicine Ms. Sadler brought over.”

Anderson asked, “Where’s Mayra?”

“Ms. Sadler probably saw someone coming out from your room just now, so she didn’t come in.”

Anderson’s frown deepened.

“What has she been doing in her room?”

“She seemed to be reading. When I saw Ms. Sadler in the corridor, she was holding a book about human pressure points.”

Anderson waved his hand dismissively. When did she become interested in these things?

Shane nodded and left the room.

Mayra was sitting on the couch and reading while also keeping an ear out for any noises outside the room. Was Anderson’s headache flaring up again?

How did it become so serious? Previously, his headaches only occurred once a week. Now, they seemed to be happening more frequently.

As Mayra lay on the couch reading, she began to doze off.

When she woke up, it was already 5:30 pm.

Looking at the clock on the wall, she realized it was almost dinner time.

Mayra put down the book in her hand. Still a bit groggy, she noticed a “Do Not Disturb” sign was displayed outside Anderson’s room. Had Anderson not left his room the entire afternoon?

Worried, Mayra took the spare room card from her pocket and swiped it. She opened the door to a pitch- black room. The curtains wer This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

tightly shut, not letting a speck of light in.

She gently shut the door and then turned on a dim light on the wall. The bedroom door was open, and Mayra could see someone lying inside the room.

Mayra approached the bed with light steps. With the faint glow from outside, she could clearly see the man on the bed. She reached out to touch his forehead.
