Chapter 15
Rowan’s POV
“Fuck. I came so deep inside Nora then settle beside her panting while she passed out for a second.
As I lay beside her, the soft light filtering through the curtains casting a warm glow upon her sleeping form. I couldn’t help but admire her beauty,
Despite the passage of time etched in the lines on her face and the silver strands that mingled with her blonde hair, she exuded a radiance that seemed to defy age. She looks just her age
Her green eyes, once filled with sorrow and longing, now sparkled with a newfound happiness that filled my heart with joy I’m glad I am able to bring that to her eyes.
The smile that graced her lips in her sleep was a testament to the contentment she had found in our shared bond, a happiness that mirrored my own. This is what I have been missing for years.
1 reached out to gently brush a stray lock of hair from her face, marvelling at the way the blonde strands shimmered in the soft light.
Though she had dyed her hair to cover the beautiful brunette hur she used to have, it only served to enhance her natural beauty, accentuating the elegance of her features and the gracefulness of her form.
I watched her sleep, a sense of gratitude washed over me, filling me with a profound sense of peace and contentment. In Nora. I had found not only a mate but a companion, a partner with whom to share the joys and sorrows of life’s journey
This is all I have ever wanted. Nothing more.
I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her close and breathing in the scent of her hair. I knew that no matter what trials lay ahead, as long as we were together, we could weather any storm
For her, I had found not only love but also a home, a place where my heart could finally find rest. It is something I have been. searching for. Now my mother can rest because I have found the ONE.
Nora stirred from her slumber, her emerald eyes fluttering open to meet my gaze, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of discomfort at being caught in the act of admiring her. Though I shouldn’t
I mean, she used to be my best friend before we drifted apart but things aren’t just the same anymore. She has changed. Even the way she talks has changed so we have to start all over again.
Despite the warmth of her smile, there was a flicker of uncertainty in her expression, a silent question lingering in the air.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” she asked, her voice soft with sleep and curiosity, her brow furrowing slightly as she shifted under my gaze.
For a moment, I hesitated, unsure of how to put into words the depth of emotion that swirled within me. But as I met her gaze, the words spilled forth, unbidden yet sincere.
“I was just admiring your beauty, I confessed, my voice barely above a whisper. “You look so radiant, so happy. It’s… it’s a sight to behold.”
A blush crept into her cheeks at my words, a shy smile gracing her lips as she reached out to gently brush her fingers against my cheek
“You always know just what to say, she me eyes shining with affection. Thank you”
As we lay there together, wrapped in each other’s embrace, I felt sense of peace settle over me like a comforting blanket.
Nora’s fingers trailed gently against my cheek, a question lingered in the back of my mind, one that had been gnawing at me for some time. Summoning the courage to voice my curiosity, 1 cleared my throat, my voice tinged with a hint of apprehension.
“Where have you been?” I asked softly, my gaze searching hers for any sign of hesitation or uncertainty.
For a moment. Nora’s expression faltered, a flicker of surprise passing through her emerald eyes before she offered at nonchalant shrug.
Tve been exploring the world, she replied casually, her tone light and breezy as if the answer were the most obvious thing in the world.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
But beneath the surface, I sensed a guardedness, a reluctance to delve into the details of her journey that left me feeling unsettled. After she had so brutally rejected me like I meant nothing to her because I couldn’t walk.
Had she been hiding something from me, I wondered, or was I simply reading too much into her evasive response? There is an obvious answer here. I also didn’t sort her out because I didn’t want to ruin her life.
That is what love is right? Letting the person you love so desperately because that is best for them.
Suppressing the urge to press her further, I offered a nod of understanding, though the questions continued to churn within me like a tempest raging beneath the calm surface of the sea.
“Ah. I see.” I murmured, my voice tinged with a hint of disappointment that I struggled to conceal. “Well, I’m glad you’re back. I’ve missed you.”
Nora’s smile returned, albeit tinged with a hint of sadness that lingered in the corners of her eyes. I knew that there were still secrets between us, shadows lurking in the depths of her past.
But for now, I pushed aside my doubts, choosing instead to revel in the warmth of her presence, grateful for the chance to hold her in my arms once more.
Sensing the tension that lingered between us like a thin veil, I gently broached the subject, my voice soft yet firm as I spoke.
“Nora, would you mind getting dressed? I’d like to take you to see the queen mother. It’s been quite some time since you’ve returned, and I think it’s about time the two of you met.”
For a brief moment, a flicker of discomfort crossed Nora’s features, a fleeting glimpse of uncertainty that mirrored the turmoil swirling within my own heart.
But as quickly as it had appeared, it vanished, replaced by a mask of calm composure that belied the emotions that simmered beneath the surface.
“Of course,” she replied with a nod, her voice steady despite the undercurrent of tension that lingered in the air between us.
Nora rose from the bed and began to gather her clothes, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt at the unease I had caused her. But this is the first thing we should have done since she arrived a few days ago but I couldn’t let her go
Though I knew that my intentions were rooted in a desire to strengthen our bond and mend the fractures that had formed between us, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was asking too much of her, demanding her presence in a situation that made her uncomfortable.
But as she emerged from the dressing chamber, her expression composed and her demeanour poised, I felt a surge of gratitude wash over me. She is the right choice made by the Moon Goddess.
Despite her reservations, she had chosen to accompany me, to face the uncertainty of the unknown with courage and grace.
