Chapter 48
“You have a date! With who EP” Bellamy whispered excitedly, and Elise didn’t know how she’d explain that it was Kaide
She felt Kaide’s eyes were still on her as she turned to look at him, but Bellamy caught them staring at each other and saw her commander’s gaze soften with affection for Elise, and she immediately clicked who her date was
“Oh, moons, it’s him?!” She said it out loud, forgetting to use her inside voice, which had some of the students turning in confusion.
People were already looking over their shoulders and wondering what all the commotion was about and why Bellamy was shouting
Elise immediately placed her hands over Bellamy’s mouth. “Shhh! Not so loud, Bells!” She scolded, and Bellamy looked sorry. “Til tell you when we are done with training, she said to Bellamy, who got overly excited again.
Bellamy was more than surprised, but she was all the happier for Elise that she finally found someone she liked in the pack.
“I have to go tell Vienna.”
“She know about me accepting his courting,” she explained to Bellamy, “But she doesn’t know I’m in desperate need of your opinions on what I should wear,” she said with an unsure bit to her lips.
“Then leave that to us: I’ll go ahead with Vienna and Hana to go shopping for you.”
“No, you don’t need to go to that length, Bells; it’s just a date,” she said to Bellamy, hoping to reduce Bellamy’s enthusiasm about the whole ordeal but doing so just increased her excitement about it.
“No, it’s your first date, and you haven’t given me a moment to show how thankful I am for healing me. Please, El,’ she begged Elise, putting her palms together and her best pity gaze to coerce Elise. And it worked.
“Fine, but let’s meet at Vienna’s place,” she added. She wasn’t quite comfortable having to walk down those steps knowing she was going to be dressed up and on a date with someone cke; it didn’t feel right yet. But what’s the use if she doesn’t try!
“Yay! I will be meeting with Hana; she knows for sure what to pick,” she explained excitedly, quickly excusing herself the moment training was over. But she had been told to stay back by kaide for another set of heavy drills making the whole class groan before he dismissed them.
“It seems like your friend is overly excited about something Kaide called from behind her, and Elise rolled her eyes in amusement before turning to meet his gaze. His warm brown hair curled with sweat making him look extra has me as his bronze skin shined, she peered at his almond eyes relaxed with amusement as he watched her.
He had been leisurely watching her through the whole sparring session and even had a surprised laugh which confused Taz when Bellamy freaked out during the middle of training because of it.
“Maybe she is just excited to be free from this hell of a training session,” she joked, and Kaide smirked in reply.
“Ah, don’t give me ideas to make it harder, El; I haven’t seen you sweat enough,” he joked before he leaned off the wall. Elise’s face turned a shade of pink as she stepped back when he moved forward. “So, are we still on for tomorrow then?”
“Yes, of course we are. Where are we going?”
“You haven’t had a night out in the pack’s main town, have you?” He asked Elise.
“It might be news to you, but most of your pack members still see me as the villain who almost killed your alpha child and harmed his mate.” Elise said with a hand crossed to her chest.
“But I know you’re innocent.”
“You should be more mad atine since it’s your cousin that’s involved in this, you know she scolds at Kairle, who just let out a deep chuckle. She wondered why he looked like he didn’t believe it came bit, and she didn’t understand why he didn’t blame her at all
“They’ll open up once they get to know you… I’ll see you by the evening then” He called with a brow raised in question
which Elise answered with a nod.
“Um, yeah, ver you then?
The moment she was done, Hana came to drag her along hack to the home where Vienna and Bellamy were waiting Vienna looked happy for her, and Elise, for a while, let them bask in their excitement.
Courting was something she’d never done; she had only been betrothed to one man, and it didn’t end well. So she was nervous, no doubt.
The trio had found a beautiful grey silk shirt paired with a waist-cincher corset and a black flare skirt, paired with her high ankle boots.
Her hair nearly curled and let loose; its flowing velvety waves accentuated her features, the white streak of her red hair curled and left to cascade down her face.
“Moons, you look so beautiful, the female cooed and awed as Elise looked at herself in the mirror. She still couldn’t help feeling weird about it, but she ignored her wolf, still frowning; she still hadn’t approved of Kaide.
“Y-you think?”
We know! Good luck and have fun, El Vienna and the females sud before she walked out the door, expecting to be greeted by Kaide, but instead she saw Tazmin, who was walking up the stepped porch of Vienna’s home.
Her brows raised in surprise, especially since Vienna didn’t mention anything about it. “Well, look at who is all dressed up.” Taxmin said flatly
But his smile didn’t reach his eyes. She knew he wasn’t happy at first, especially since Kaide had just told him about the date But he didn’t look happy or amused by this at all. And Elise could feel this abrupt hostility toward her.
“Taz l
“Look, Red, I could hardly give a f*k about what you do, yes, you’ve been in tough ** more than others, and you saved my alpha’s skin, but making my best friends and sworn brothers fight against each other is something I won’t stand for He warned her in a dark tone
There was no sight of his friendly or flirty demeanor at all, and she knew this threat was the real deal. “I hope you are making the right choice because I won’t forgive you if something happens,” he said.
Elise was speechless as he passed her and walked to Vienna’s door, muttering the last words that she caught a wind of. “Have a nice date, Red,” he mutteredThis is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
She didn’t dare turn back to look at his face, or when the door opened or when Vienna emerged smiling at Tax, confused for a moment, she looked at Elise, who forced a stretched-lip smile to her lips.
Vienna then kissed Tax, who went into the house, before she peered over Elise’s shoulders to see the emerging figure down the steps and saw Kaide walking up to the house.
His smile immediately faded when he saw Elise’s solemn face. “What happened?” He asked worriedly.
But Elise shook her head, she couldn’t destroy anything else or any of his friendships; just this time around, she wanted to find the happiness she thought was with Kaide. “Nothing. It’s nothing at all,” she called, taking his hand in hers and forcing a smile on her face as she turned to the beta.
“Let’s go on that date, shall we?” She called excitedly.
She wasn’t going to let anything ruin this.
