Chapter 459
Chapter 459
Chapter 459 Provocation
"Argus, you are still young and have many choices. I don't want you to regret it." Reina still insisted on her own opinion.
"You are a man who has never been married. If you marry me who has a child, you will inevitably be criticized.
"Even if you can accept this child now, what about the future? Are you sure that you can always stay rational under public criticism and love me and the child?
"I was careless before and easily decided to marry you. I am here to say sorry to you. What compensation do you want? I can try my best to satisfy you. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
"But we are indeed not suitable for each other. Let's forget about dating."
Seeing that she had made up her mind, Argus sat down on a chair beside him in frustration, not saying a word.
He suddenly hated himself. Why did he leave Reina and return home because of his mother's words?
It was because of his hesitation in the past few days that they, who should have been happy together, split up.
Reina continued, "Argus, go back now. You have to go out to sea tomorrow. Don't delay your work."
Argus was silent for a long time and asked for her opinion, "Can I stay here tonight?"
"I can't be at ease leaving Jaylon and you here."
Jaylon and Reina used to be a couple. Argus was worried that if things continued like this, he would be eliminated.
He still wanted to fight for Reina.
Reina said, "You better go back."
Since she had decided to break up with him, there was no reason for her to give him hope.
It was extremely cruel to shatter hope after giving others hope.
She could not do it.
Argus wanted to say something, yet in the end, he left.
Walking to the door, Jaylon waited there.
He leaned against the wall with a cigarette between his fingers. His cold, handsome face was blurred in the smoke. He was surrounded by faint gloom.
Hearing the sound at the door, he glanced sideways, put out the cigarette, and said in a calm voice, "You were kicked out?"
There were no ups and downs in his tone, but Argus could hear a hint of ridicule in his voice.
Not to be outdone, Argus said composedly with a stony face, "Reina said that she was afraid that you would hurt me, so she asked me to go back first. When she is discharged, she will come to me."
Reina was protecting the blue-eyed fisherman again.
Jaylon was enraged, yet his face remained calm. He threw the cigarette butt into the trash can and slowly walked up to Argus. Jaylon's voice was sullen and icy. "Then you can wait and see if she will
have a chance to come to you after she is discharged from the hospital."
Argus was about the same height as Jaylon. When Argus straightened his back, he also looked imposing. Argus said unhurriedly, "If you are not afraid
that she will be forced to death, you can try."
This sentence directly touched a nerve.
What Argus said was what Jaylon was most scared of right now.
Jaylon could directly take Reina away, but he knew that Reina could no
longer withstand his torment. This was why he had been carefully guarding her, not daring to overstep his boundaries.
The tip of Jaylon's tongue was pressed against the back of his teeth, his
eyes becoming increasingly angry. "You better pray that Reina can always protect you."
"She will protect me for the rest of her life. After all, she is my future wife," Argus smiled provocatively.
After saying that, he walked around Jaylon and left.
Jaylon stood there for a long time. Trenton was about to call him when he saw Jaylon punch the wall fast and ruthlessly and leave a blood mark.
The people standing next to him were all shocked. Trenton quickly sent for
a doctor and then walked to Jaylon. "Jaylon, if you are angry with that
Argus, you can hit him. Why did you have to do this?"
The joints connected Jaylon's palm and fingers were covered in blood. His
hand was still tightly clenched as he laughed at himself.
"Reina is protecting him. How would I dare to hit him?"
Reina wanted to marry Argus now. If he killed her fiancé, she might threaten
him with her life again.
Trenton did not understand things between Jaylon and Reina, so Trenton
did not say anything else.
The doctor brought the tools over and helped Jaylon bandage his wound in the corridor before going back home to rest.
Jaylon walked back to the ward. Reina noticed the wound on his hand. She
only glanced at it indifferently before closing her eyes and falling asleep.
Jaylon deliberately let the doctor wrap his wound with thicker and wider gauze so that Reina could see it.
In the end, she did see it.
However, she did not say a word of concern.
When Argus arrived an hour ago and Jaylon had not even touched Argus,
Reina told Jaylon not to hurt Argus.
The man who was already suppressing his anger became even more upset. He took off his coat and fell asleep on the bed beside Reina.
Reina had thought that after the conversation last night, Argus would not
come to find her for a while.
She did not expect that the next day, Argus would bring Charles to the
hospital.
Yesterday, Jaylon did not let anyone stop Argus, so Argus came in today
smoothly.
Jaylon sat on the sofa, reading the news. When he saw Argus enter, the vibe around Jaylon instantly soured.
If Reina were not here, Jaylon would probably throw Argus out directly.
Charles originally wanted to greet Jaylon, who had given him candy, but Charles was frightened by Jaylon's expression and did not dare to approach
Jaylon.
"Reina, do you want to eat candy?" The little fellow took out a few pieces of candy from his bag and gave them to Reina.
There was no reason for him to be so attentive, so he must be up to no
good.
Reina asked Charles, "Did you tell Argus about my hospital?"
"Reina, sometimes it's not good to be so smart." Charles flinched.
"Don't do it again next time." Reina flicked a finger on his head.
"OK!"
Argus brought lunch over today. He placed the lunch box on the table and opened it layer by layer.
He took out the dish in the middle and put it on the table, saying, "Reina,
you need to nourish your body when you're pregnant. It's not good to eat takeout every day. I've made your favorite dishes. Have a taste."
Argus had been depressed the entire night after he went back last night, yet he had cheered up today.
Jaylon still didn't know about Reina breaking up with him, and Reina didn't
seem to want Jaylon to know this fact. She definitely wouldn't mention it in front of Jaylon.
Jaylon could take care of Reina as her boyfriend. Also, he could please her
and prevent Jaylon from getting closer to Reina without him knowing. He
could kill three birds with one stone.
Sure enough, in front of Jaylon, Reina did not stubbornly make a clean
break with Argus like last night.
"Sorry to trouble you."
Argus casually replied, "I am your fiancé. It is only right for me to do this."
Hearing the word "fiancé", Jaylon looked even more disgruntled. Reina was
a little uncomfortable.
She did not know that Argus would be so obstinate.
Argus helped Reina put the table on the bed, placed the food on it, pulled a
chair to sit by the bed, and told her about the interesting things that had happened in the small town in the past two days.
Charles exaggeratedly mimed at the side, making Reina laugh several
times.
The three of them were enjoying themselves, while Jaylon was sitting alone
on the sofa in the corner, silent and sulky.
