Chapter20 Victor’s Wealth

She got up so fast and rushed out of the bedroom without wearing a shoe.

No one was in the rooms. She took a lift to the first floor. What she saw was unbelievable.

Leo was sitting on Victor’s thighs and telling Victor about his childhood. Victor was feeding him with a bowl of porridge. Both of them seemed so enjoyable.

Now she was so jealous to see they were getting so close.

But thankfully she didn’t lose her son. Victor didn’t take away Leo forcedly.

She adjusted her mood, but the next second she felt a little cool, finding she didn’t wear shoes. She wanted to go back the bedroom and put on her shoes, but heard Leo speaking, “Daddy, will you be with Mommy and me forever?”

“Yesterday is my best day ever! Daddy and Mommy are accompanying me. And my schoolmates won’t call me whoreson anymore!”

Whoreson?

This word, like a weapon, hurting Hedy so badly. She was too painful to take a breath.

Victor happened to see Hedy standing there. He looked at her with warning and censure.

Hedy couldn’t bear and ran away. Victor comforted Leo in a mild tone, “Don’t worry, my son. I won’t leave you and Mommy from now on. I will be here for you all the time. And I will protect you! I love you, my son.”

“Daddy, I love you too. You are so nice!”

Hedy walked into the elevator, crying.

As a mother, what she wanted to see was her son’s smile. She wanted to bring happiness for her son.

It was true that she was afraid Leo would be taken away by Victor. But when she saw they get on so well with each other, she could not bear to separate them. She couldn’t be selfish. After all, they were father and son. She couldn’t cut their ties of blood.

In the next few days, Victor kept showing how much he loved Leo in front of Hedy, which made him a real good father.

Hedy felt complicated about it when she looked at Leo’s smiling face.

Leo was happy to do this. He held her neck and gave her kisses on her cheek, looking at Hedy with bright eyes, “Mommy, let’s go to the playground, shall we?”

Hedy knew that the “We” Leo talked about included Victor.

He was excited about the fact that he had a father. And he kept mentioning all the time.

But thinking of going outside with Victor, Hedy hesitated. She was worried and wanted to refuse Leo’s idea, but Victor agreed at once, “Good idea. Let’s get ready for it.”

“Mommy, let’s go!” Leo pulled Hedy into the bedroom. He could not wait to open the closet and picked some clothes for Hedy.

Hedy was so shocked about what she saw in the closet.

Her job was about fashion design, so she knew so well about the clothes.

They were truly expensive! And some of them were the latest collection from shows, which meant that they were not for sale.

How wealthy he was!

“Daddy prepares these dresses for you! How are they? Do you like them? Are you happy now?”

He was cheerful, looking at Hedy with pride.

Hedy felt complicated. She didn’t know how to do. Victor always showed how powerful he was to her, making her give up the thought of taking away Leo.

“Mommy, what about this one?”

Leo picked the yellow dress from them for her.

He got a plan; for they were not close enough, he got to help them show thier best part to each other. Mommy got bright complexion. So wearing yellow clothes could help her look more energetic and younger.

The yellow dress seemed design only for her. She looked soft and pretty in this dress.

Leo was right.

Victor was astonished by her beauty when he saw her in this yellow dress.

She looked so tender and pure in it, which made him want to protect her.

Especially her slim long leg, which reminded him what happened last night.

Hedy was so shy being stared by Victor. She didn’t know what he was thinking that moment. She only sensed uncertain danger from him.

“Well, I am ready. Let’s go.”

Hedy said with somewhat embarrassment, wanting to hold Leo.

However, Victor was faster than her and held Leo in his arms first. It was so easy for him to hold a four- year-old boy in arms. Leo embraced his neck and put his legs on Victor’s wrist.

Hedy didn’t think it was polite. So she said, “Leo, don’t put your legs like that.”

But Victor didn’t care. He patted his hip and said, “Don’t worry. Though you put your legs on my wrist, I am fine.”

How could he make fun of her like that?

Leo didn’t know what he actually meant, he took Victor’s words serious, and said, “Daddy, please put me down, so that you could hold Mommy like that. Mommy would be tired if she walked too much.”

Hedy was so embarrassed, and tried to stop Leo, “I’m fine, really.”

Then they took an elevator to the underground garage.

Looking at the expensive cars parking in the garage, Hedy thought she might enter an agency which only rent luxury cars.

Leo liked cars too. He was so excited when he saw so many cars in the garage. He yelled with admiration, “Daddy, are they yours?”

Being admired by his son, Victor felt so good.

He smiled and said, “Yes, they are mine. Do you like them? Come on, choose one. Then we drive it to the playground.”

“Emm…” Leo went to them and focused on the cars. He enjoyed looking at them. And he couldn’t help touching them and feeling them. He really took it as a mission to choose one of them.

Hedy was astonished.

She lived with Leo for years, and they didn’t get chances to touch such luxury cars. She never knew that Leo was so interested in cars. Was the interest inherited from Victor?

In fact, Leo knew nothing about cars. But he got good taste. He could see what was beautiful and what was rare. He thought if one car couldn’t be found everywhere in the street, it must be rare and dear.

Leo saw around them and finally pointed a green Porsche roadster and yelled, “Daddy, it’s my choice!”

‘Green fits Mommy’s yellow dress so well!’ Leo thought.

Imagining the scene that Daddy opened the car door for Mommy and they would smile to each other like a loving couple, Leo was so excited and cheerful.
