Benjamin quipped but readily agreed.

"I know you are the best." Eloise took Daniel's hand again, signaling him to smooth things over with

Benjamin. She always felt that they were not getting along, but she did not know why.

Daniel was to be the son-in-law of the Clark family. The Clark Group was several times larger than the

Campbell Group. And the Campbell family could not be compared with the Clark family in terms of

contacts.

Madelyn was not really much of a reason for him to fall out with Benjamin.

He said politely, "Benjamin, thank you."

A slight smile broke on Benjamin's lips.

He picked up the magazine again and flipped through it casually. His attitude was apathetic anyhow,

and Eloise's pouting didn't help.

At 4:30 p.m., Benjamin got up from the sofa.

"I have work to do. I'm going back."

Brianna and Alexander finally got a chance to see their son and naturally had to keep him for dinner.

"Maybe another time! I really have something to take care of." Benjamin stroked Eloise's head.

As soon as Benjamin left, Daniel said he wouldn't stay for dinner.

Eloise, fearing that he would be embarrassed, took the initiative to find an excuse for him and sent him

to the car, saying lovingly, "I hope you don't mind. My brother has always been this way! He never

warms up to anyone."

Daniel snorted out a laugh.

What was Madelyn if he couldn't warm up to anyone?

He got into the car without saying anything and followed Benjamin's car at a very great distance.

With his hands on the steering wheel, Benjamin looked in the rearview mirror.

He saw Daniel's car.

He smiled, with no intention to ditch Daniel, and drove unhurriedly to make sure Daniel could keep up.

Half an hour later, he picked up Madelyn.

Madelyn must have met Samuel. When she got into the car, her eyes were conspicuously red...

Benjamin was not very attentive, especially to women. But now he asked gently, "Why are you crying

like that after you've seen him? Do your eyes hurt?"

"I'm not crying." Madelyn concealed her emotion.

Benjamin chuckled, leaned over, and murmured, "Or are you crying because you're going to be bullied

by me? You're crying so much before I've done anything to you."

Madelyn silently turned her face away.

Benjamin smiled, and as he started the car, he glanced in the rearview mirror.

Daniel was so patient and was still following him!

...

It was the end of the day, and there was some traffic jam.

At a stoplight, Benjamin casually asked about Samuel, and Madelyn told him everything.

"Have you got everything needed in such a small box?" Benjamin suddenly asked.

Madelyn thought about it for a second. "You don't have any women's slippers there. I want to buy a pair

of them."

Benjamin grunted yes.

He rolled down the window and lit a cigarette with his head down, smoking with his elbow against the

window... The man driving behind could see them clearly now.

The traffic moved so slowly that it took them half an hour to get near the apartment.

Benjamin pulled over to the side of the road.

He unbuckled his seatbelt, tilt his head sideways, and said to Madelyn, "There's a home store across Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

the street. You can go over and buy whatever you want. I'm going to the pharmacy there to get some

medicine."

As he spoke, he took out a platinum card from his wallet and told Madelyn the password.

"Pay domestic costs with this card."

Madelyn didn't refuse after a moment's hesitation. She got out of the car and walked into the home

store. She didn't know the occupants of the building where Benjamin lived often shopped there. She

would run into the neighbors if she went shopping here more often.

Benjamin finished half of his cigarette and opened the door.

He walked to the other side of the pharmacy and took two small square boxes directly from the counter.

They were labeled L size.

He took them in his hand, naturally pulled two $20 bills out of his wallet, and handed them to the

cashier.

The cashier, a woman in her early 40s, looked up, and her eyes were stuck. When she swiped his card,

she felt romantic emotions and positively gagged for Benjamin using the two boxes of this on her...
