“I don’t know…I thought he’d warm up to me.”I said and she sighed.

“Kade just really hated Klyde you know, it’s hard to just forget what happened.”She said and I nodded. 

“I hope he can forgive me honestly. Because I really want a second chance with Kade, I would do anything to make him forget what happened. Literally anything…”I said, muttering my last words so Elizabeth wouldn’t hear how desperate I was. 

We sat there quietly then I noticed she was looking at something behind me, when I turned around Kade was standing in front of the door, looking directly at me. He must’ve heard what I said since he looked visibly uncomfortable.

“Are you ladies doing alright?”he said, putting his hands in his pocket as Pedro went to his room with his suitcase. 

Elizabeth said yes while I just nodded. 

“and the kids?” 

“They’re with their homeschool teacher.”I replied so he nodded and removed his tie, scratching his next a little.

“Did you see the news?”he asked, he looked very happy when he asked and that really surprised me. 

“Umm about your phone launch?”I asked, trying to make sure we were both talking about the same thing.

“Yeah!”he said enthusiastically. I nodded in response and he beamed the biggest smile I’d ever seen at me. 

“Congratulations.”I said and he clasped his hands and rubbed them together as he paced up and down his room. 

“Not yet though, we need to keep up the good work for a year.”He said as he ran his hands through his hair and looked at me. I flustered when I realized he was talking about us not having sex.

“Yeah, we can totally do that. Just fifty more weeks left.”I said and chuckled nervously. 

He stopped pacing and stared at me. “You’ve been counting?”he asked but I shook my head vigorously.

“Just stating the facts, I mean it’s very good to uhh know what you’re up against.”I said and his brows furrowed as he looked at me. Suddenly a smirk formed on his face and he walked towards me slowly. He placed one hand on the wall and stared down at me, his smirk widening as he said,”Are we ever gonna talk about that night.”

I gulped and tried not to look him in the eye as I said,” What night, Kade?” 

“You know what night,”he responded and wiggled his eye brows. 

“Okay are you drunk? It’s only when you’re drunk you become this person!”I said hitting him on his chest. I literally wished the ground would open up and swallow me when I saw that I had opened more of his buttons on his white sleeve.
