I stared at the phone Kade had gotten me and read the note that came with it, “So that you can reach any of us in case of an emergency. Also this is the first model of my smartphone collection, let me know if there’s any way to improve it. ”

He got me a phone so that I can call them? Wait, is this a form of concern or what? I sighed when I realized the other part of the note that meant that he gave the phone as some sort of experiment. Of course he wouldn’t give a damn about me, and he’s only paying for my flight back to London just because I looked too pathetic for him to handle.

Few hours later, Pedro called my phone and told me that I would be taken back to the airport by one of their drivers and I was to leave immediately. At that moment, I wondered if I should go back to the US and confront Rick and Jenna about their affair instead but I didn’t have any money with me.

I would have to try and reach Nina and see if she could be of any help to me in bringing the rest of my things and also explaining to me IN DETAIL what the hell is going on between Rick and Jenna.

Few hours later, we got to the to London and I rested throughout the evening until I was bored out of my mind. Eventually I decided to call Nina at least I still had her number in my head. It rang several times but she didn’t pick up. I was starting to lose hope that she would ever answer me but after while she called me back and I answered.

” Hello?”

” Nina, it’s me Viola,” I said and she kept quiet. She didn’t say anything for a while and it bothered me.

” Nina?”

” I don’t know any Viola,” she said and I panicked.

” Nina it’s me Jean, you know my real name is Viola!” I said, desperately hoping that she would remember.

” The fuck is wrong with you? Nobody knows you as Viola around here! Why on Earth would you say you’re Viola? I thought you were the people I borrowed money from!” She exploded over the phone and I had to shift the phone away from my ears.

” Geez Nina, I thought you’d be pissed if I still addressed myself by my fake name.” I explained as I got up from my bed and placed the phone on loudspeaker so that I could take off my clothes and have a warm bath.

” Well I guess you should also drop that damn American accent too, I saw the videos of you all over the internet. You sound like you spoke Queens English all your life.” She said humorously and I realized that I’ve actually been switching between both accents sometimes.

Maybe that was why Victoria found my speaking funny, ugh!

” Umm, sorry. It’s just weird being British with you guys, it’s become something I have to do consciously I guess,” I said as I undressed and then we were silent for a while.

” There’s something you have to know Viola,” she said and I smiled. Nina was going to tell me about Jenna and Rick even without me asking her. I always sensed that she was the better of the pair, they were already friends before I met them and back then Jenna didn’t like the way Nina became close to me but she started hanging out with both of us more often and I guess I thought that made us three best friends.

How wrong I must’ve been.

” What is it?” I asked, pretending ignorance.

” It’s Jenna. Look, I noticed this some months back but I didn’t want to believe it was true. She always seemed so interested in Rick, I thought it was because she approved of him as your boyfriend but it turns out that she wanted him as hers.” Nina said and I hit my forehead with my palm.

Nina was never one to speak with details, she always summarized things and I didn’t really want that this time.

” What do you mean? Is she trying to take Rick from me?” I asked and Nina sighed before she said, ” I got suspended from work yesterday so I decided to go to Jenna’s house for some comfort but I saw Rick in her room and she was riding your man!” Nina said and I could feel the anger in both of us brewing over the phone.

” Really?” I was all I could say as I carried the phone into the bathroom.

” That’s all you have to say? That bitch is such a snake and I can’t believe it took me seven years to realize. Do you know how many things have gone wrong for me? Jenna has everything to do with it I’m telling you! There’s so much happening right now Jean- I mean Viola, I wish I could see you so we could talk in person.” She said and I could hear her try to keep herself from crying.

” It’s okay Nina, I’ll find a way to come see you-”

” – don’t! God knows what some delusional women around here would do to you if they find you. By the way, why are they so obsessed with those twin CEOs anyway? It’s crazy what people say about you on the internet and we can’t say the truth. Although, even if we did, people won’t believe us.”

” Wait, what do you mean you can’t say the truth?” I said as I got in the bath tub.

” Well, the day we got dropped off at that hotel we got an offer the next day. It was a huge amount of money to keep our mouths shut about what really happened to you. I guess that Hulio guy outed you eventually.”

” Did you guys take it?”

” Oh Jenna took it in a heart beat but I didn’t I couldn’t do something like that. I swear Viola I wanted to speak up for you but… they threatened to kill me so I just kept quiet.”

” You should take the money, it doesn’t mean you’re selling me out.”

” How could you say something like that? I would never!”

“- don’t you dare Nina! I need that money because over here I don’t have anything except it’s given to me and I hate that. I’m gonna need you to send some of my things to me okay?”

” Oh, I never even asked how you’re doing. I’m sorry, how are you doing?”

” I don’t know. It’s weird over here, the family is just broken I don’t even know why they pretend.”

” Did you meet your children?” She asked and I felt so bitter already.

” I did, turns out they don’t give a damn about me.” I said and shut my eyes as I recalled the way they all ignored me. They were just seven but they seemed to know a lot more than one would expect from seven-year-olds.

” Why would you say that?” Nina asked and for the rest of the night, I talked with Nina and told her everything that had happened. Honestly, speaking with Nina made me feel so much better, I really wished she was here to comfort me.

She said she’d send me my things tomorrow and then she would come to London to visit me. Although I told her that I doubt that the Harolds would welcome her but she said she would still come anyway. That was all I needed to hang in here for a while, soon she’ll come and see me. At least I have one true friend, with that in mind I closed my eyes and slept.

I woke up the next morning to feel someone’s hands on my hips, I could perceive Kade’s Cologne so I knew it was him. But why was he in my room? Didn’t I lock the room from within?

I tried to remove his hand from my hips but he just placed it more firmly and then he started to kiss my neck. Oh that felt so good but something didn’t feel right, even though Kade seemed to hate me less and showed me a little kindness, I didn’t expect that he’d be trying to seduce me the next day.

” Hey, you have to leave. This isn’t right,” I shrieked when I turned around on the bed and found a pair of blue eyes lustfully staring at me – I just knew that it was Klyde that was behind me! ” What’s happening t-tomorrow?” I asked wearily as I subtly tried to get down from the bed.

” We’re getting married tomorrow at the Saint Lumen cathedral. So what’s the point with all this resisting you do? You can’t resist me for long, let’s just fuck now.” He said and threw off his shirt as he looked at my breasts lustfully.
