Chapter 1202 Blade Devil

The four shadow guards landed at the bottom of the white mist-filled valley.

"We were tricked. The avatar is too smart to be found."

They searched for his Resurrection Force, only to find that a low-level beast emitted the aura.

Obviously, the Rule Soul Avatar had arranged this.

Almost immediately, wave after wave of Resurrection Force appeared in the range of their perception.

"Damn it. He is clever! He knew that we would track his Resurrection Force."

To avoid being detected, the Rule Soul Avatar had put his Resurrection Force into several beasts. This

was the only explanation for why the four shadow guards sensed so many sources of the same

Resurrection Force concurrently.

Considering the situation, they were unable to locate the Rule Soul Avatar by tracking the aura of his

Resurrection Force.

The only clue that would lead them to the Rule Soul Avatar was lost.

Confused and unsure of how to circumvent the deceit, the four shadow guards glanced at each other.

Just then, the Immortal Lord's voice materialized. "What's wrong with you four? Why haven't you killed

him yet?" he asked through his spiritual sense.

His tone was laced with anger, which reflected his dissatisfaction with the four great shadow guards.

"My Lord, this avatar is quite shrewd. He always seems to know how we would track him, and he has

used that knowledge to avoid being detected."

"He is in a cave three kilometers to your north. Hurry up and kill him," the Immortal Lord instructed after

a moment of silence.

"Yes, My Lord!" The four shadow guards were too embarrassed to say anything else.

"It seems as though the Immortal Lord has asked the Blood Witcher for assistance."

"That's right. Only the Blood Witcher could detect his location so precisely."

"Let's not worry about all that now. We need to hurry up and kill him before something else goes

wrong."

The four shadow guards flew north as specified by the Immortal Lord. With their speed, it took them

three seconds to cover the three-kilometer distance and search all places.

"I found him. He's over there!"

There was a dark cave on the north side of the valley.

The Rule Soul Avatar sat cross-legged. Even though he sensed that someone had located him, he did

not stop his cultivation. Instead, his silvery eyes continued to observe universal laws.

All of a sudden, the Rule Soul Avatar's silvery eyes disappeared, and rage surged in his cold eyes.

"Face my wrath." The Rule Soul Avatar knew that his enemies arrived.

He raised his white palm and pushed it forward, releasing the power of several majestic law forces.

Bang!

In the span of a breath, the cave exploded, and the Rule Soul Avatar flew out.

Just as he reached several thousand feet from where the cave had been, a palm suddenly slammed

his chest, creating a deep print.

"It was hard to find you. Now that we have located you, don't even think about running away."

Although the Rule Soul Avatar couldn't see his attackers, he remained calm and activated his silvery

eyes. Soon, he spotted four figures that were made of law silk threads.

Soon, the Rule Soul Avatar sensed that these four people's strength was far beyond his.

"Let me go." It sounded like a demand, not a request.

"Kill him!"

The four shadow guards attacked in unison, leaving no chance for the Rule Soul Avatar to escape.

Four law forces came at the Rule Soul Avatar from different directions.

The Rule Soul Avatar couldn't resist the forces. And so, he simply chose to disperse himself by dividing

his body into small bits, hoping that he could survive that way.

"Block the space!"

Once the space was blocked, the Rule Soul Avatar would not be able to escape even though his body

had split into molecules.

"What?" To their astonishment, the space was empty despite being locked by them.

"Damn it. He used the Hiding Law to escape."

"Separate and search for him in all directions. Remember to block the space all the way."

The four shadow guards, turned into four beams of light and flew in four directions.

As they searched, they secured the space where they had passed. Soon, hundreds of kilometers of

space around them were totally fenced off.

Since the use of the Hiding Law influenced the Rule Soul Avatar's speed, he couldn't escape the

blocked area.

"Humph, let's see how you elude us this time!"

The four shadow guards controlled the space after it was secured. And so, it was easy for them to find

the location of the Rule Soul Avatar.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

They darted toward the Rule Soul Avatar in unison.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Several imposing forces swarmed the Rule Soul Avatar and smashed him to pieces.

Almost instantly, a powerful Resurrection Force spread out, and the Rule Soul Avatar healed himself,

and then he flew up quickly.

Unfortunately, the upper space was blocked as well.

The four shadow guards cornered the Rule Soul Avatar and left him with no place to hide.

The certainty of death permeated every cell in the Rule Soul Avatar's body as he turned to face his

attackers.

"Tell me why you want to kill me," the Rule Soul Avatar showed no fear as he asked.

"It's a pity to have to kill you, but I have no choice. You have something that you shouldn't possess, and

so you have to die. No one can help you," one of the guards replied.

"Tell me who wants me dead."

"I can't tell you that. Go to hell!"

The four shadow guards launched attacks simultaneously. They intended to kill the Rule Soul Avatar

with one blow so that he would not have the chance to use his Resurrection Force again.

Crack!

To everyone's surprise, a huge black crack appeared in the space.

Before anyone could process what had happened, a blade descended.

"What?"

The four shadow guards frowned when they sensed the powerful blade aura. They used their most

powerful strength to fend it off.

The entire heaven and earth shook as the majestic, and mighty blade descended from the sky and

stopped in front of the four shadow guards.

"What?!"

The four shadow guards were terrified as they knew that they could not defeat someone that powerful.

However, that blade didn't fall on the four guards. It simply dispersed in front of them.

The four shadow guards couldn't understand why they had been spared, but they were relieved

nonetheless. One of them decided to use this opportunity to beg for their life, "Excuse us, sir. We have

been ordered to kill him. We have no issues with you. Could you please allow us to finish our task?"

Now that such a strong warrior was targeting them, the four guards knew that they had to be polite.

The Primitive Wilderness was filled with several reclusive cultivators and ascetic cultivators who

worked hard to cultivate. Some of them were really strong, and some were as powerful as the superior

gods in the regions.

A man walked out of the fissure.

He was dressed in an old black robe and carried a broad knife on his back. The blade was pitted and

resembled an old wood cutting tool.

The four shadow guards stared at him in unison. The middle-aged man with messy hair terrified them.

"Sir, are you a friend of his?"

"No, I'm not."

"Then why do you protect him?"

"You ask too many questions," the man remarked gruffly.

"But, sir, if you stop us from completing our mission, I'm afraid that you'll displease the Immortal Lord,"

one of the shadow guards said. He wanted the man to know that they were following the Immortal

Lord's orders with the hopes that he wouldn't stop them from executing their task.

"Tell him that the Blade Devil is waiting for him here." The middle-aged man in the black robe clasped

his hands and appeared calm.

"The Blade Devil!"

one of the shadow guards shouted.

It was such a resounding name that they felt as though they were being bombarded by lightning.

Up until now, they had assumed that the Blade Devil was a legend. The fact that he still existed was too

terrible to comprehend.

"Sir, I would not dare to disobey you. We are leaving now."

Without further delay, the four shadow guards flew away.

The Rule Soul Avatar flew forward, and in his typical indifferent tone, he said, "Thank you. I'll repay you

in the future."
