Chapter 21 Where is the child from?

WhenEvelina finished speaking, everyone in the hall was surprised.

Farrah got Pearl's hand and asked, "Really? The most famous hospitals? It's not easy to be a chief

surgeon there. When did you work there?"

Pearl looked at her father's reaction as she nodded carefully. "I just came back."

"Anthony, you have two good promising daughters. Pearl is in the medical field. You have done such a

good job in bringing her up," Farrah added.

Knowing that Pearl had focused on her studies and excelled in her career, Anthony eased up a little.

Anthony looked at Pearl. Although he still seemed solemn, he was no longer gloomy at all. He added,

"As a doctor, you should pay more attention to your behavior."

Pearl was flattered for her father's reaction. She nodded carefully. "Dad, I understand. I will do my

best."

"Look at her. She's a big girl and still listens to her father."

"That's right. He is so lucky to have a daughter like Pearl. I like her since she was a child."

Evelina joked, "My sister is surely excellent but she's still single. Uncle Daniel, Aunt Farrah, why don't

you introduce a boyfriend to her."

Farrah was very amiable. So she agreed, "All right. It's difficult for doctors to find a partner for they are

busy. But your sister is very good. Don't worry, just leave it to me."

When they were talking, no one noticed Pearl suddenly became awkward and Anthony frowned too.

The atmosphere was lively. But an adorable and also unexpected voice came from the crowd.

"Mommy!"

A little figure in pink dashed through the surprised crowd. She threw herself into Pearl's arms. It was

Bonny. She flushed and gasped. "Mommy, I finally found you!"

Pearl's face changed when she held Bonny in her arms.

Why was Bonny here?

People there was bewildered at the word "Mommy". They exchanged confused looks.

"Who is this child? Where is she from?"

"Pearl's daughter? But isn't Pearl single?"

"Who's her father?"

The first thing Pearl remembered to do is to check her father's reaction. So her heart sank deeply when

her found her father's face darkened.

Back then, she was pregnant and insisted on keeping the child, so his father fell ill.In fact, that was the

main reason that she finally severed all ties with her father and was kicked her out form the Yonng

family.

"Pearl, is this your present for me?"

Evelina's unfriendly comments rang in the hall. She pretended angry which dawned on Pearl that

Evelina would never be so kind to let her fix the relationship with her father.

Pearl did not expect her sister resented her so much that she decided to bring her down at the cost of

the Yonng family's reputation.

But Pearl had no time to dwell on it. A male voice echoed in the crowd. "Are you Miss Pearl?"

seemed like a courier. His ordinary face was hidden under the cap, which no one would recognize if he

went into the crowd.

Pearl was stunned. But everyone was staring at her. She had no choice but to put Bonny down. She

stood upright and answered, "Yes, I am."

"All right. Here is a parcel for you. Please sign here."

As he spoke, the man took a thick envelope out from his bag and handed it to Pearl.

Before Pearl could receive it, a hand suddenly reached it. "What could this be? Let me have a look!"

Unexpectedly Evelina seized the envelope and opened it in front of the crowd.

Then a stack of photos slid out from the envelope without warning, and even Evelina was astonished.

She didn't know the envelope could be so fragile.

Two photos fell right in front of Pearl. The moment she saw the pictures, she widened her eyes. And

immediately, blood drained from her face.
