Sebastian had on a stony expression as he stared down at the bustling city from the highest floor of the Forbes skyscraper.

Up close, he looked frightening, and his dark aura was dangerously unmatched.

Due to some scheduling conflicts, his live interview has been delayed for over 3 hours, so right now, he was about to lose his last string of patience.

Meanwhile, Sebastian’s tone softened into a never-before-used pitch, “I see! They didn’t believe you?”

“No, they didn’t believe me at all. Instead, they insulted me and said I was bluffing. And my Grandma even slapped me and said I wasted everybody’s time. They made me look like a fool,” Kourtney continued to complain, bitterly.

She felt wronged and wanted to burst out crying, like a child coming home from the park.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. His eyes were sharp and icy. “Don’t worry. I’m going to come pick you up tomorrow at lunchtime. And I’d also bring a surprise for my in-laws.”

Kourtney’s curiosity piqued. “A… A surprise? What is it?”

Sebastian chuckled lightly, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Well, I can’t come to see my in-laws empty-handed for the first time, can I?

Judging from how snotty he sounded, she could tell he was going to go over the top. The man seemed like a big fan of being so excessive.

Picturing Sebastian’s extravagant nature, she couldn’t help but giggle as she imagined the faces her family members would make. They won’t know what hit them!

Sebastian did not want to hang up so soon.

However, Jamie seemed to have become restless immediately after being approached by one of the Forbes staff. Seems like they were finally about to start the interview.

“I’m quite busy tonight, so I need to go. Just pack up your bags and get ready,” Sebastian said firmly, his words carrying authority and leaving no room for any argument.

“Of course, Mr Woods. Uhmmm… I have to go too. I’ve not finished packing yet!” Kourtney nodded, surprised by her quick willingness to obey her husband this time and leave her family’s villa for His. It was a decision she never thought she would make this quickly.

‘Wait. What’s wrong with me? How am I suddenly so eager to go live with that man?’ She paused, questioning her own feelings.

It seemed like Grandma’s hot slap just now had acted like a factory reset button for her brain or something. It’s only been a week, and she barely knew the man. They were still strangers to each other.

But deep down, Kourtney knew that her family’s ill-treatment of her had pushed her to this point.

The humiliating slap in front of everyone just now had acted like a wake-up call, shaking her out of her complacency. She realized that she deserved better than the disrespect she had faced.

“Bye!” she hung up shyly while Sebastian’s mouth twisted into a sly smile.

He turned to Jamie, his assistant, handing him back the cell phone. His tone sounded more like a warning, “Make sure everything is ready for tomorrow.”

Jamie nodded, sensing the fire in Sebastian’s eyes. “Of course, Sir, everything will be well taken care of. We’ve also sent someone to inform the Old Master at WoodVale Manor about the Young Mistress’s move to Serenity Villa tomorrow.”

The WoodVale Manor was the Wood’s family ancestral home, while the Serenity Villa was a large estate owned by Sebastian, which he had named after his late Mother Serena Woods.

“Good! Because I want everything to be perfect,” Sebastian smirked as he approached the live studio room.

Elsewhere, Lilian Powell was having a video call conversation with her twin brother, Julian Powell.

“Oh, my! I can’t wait to go shopping at Louis Vuitton’s and Celine’s every other week and then go on a yacht and fancy ship cruises all the time. My best friend just hit the jackpot with the richest CEO in the fucking city.”

Lilian had been dying to tell someone about the news all day. Despite Kourtney’s plea for her to keep the secret in the meantime, Lilian just couldn’t help but call her brother. Hopefully, Kourtney wouldn’t get mad as Julian was also her close friend who could be trusted.

Just then, while the twins were still having their hearty conversation, someone on the TV screen caught Lilian’s attention.

“Holy Fuck! Julian, I’ll call you right back. I promise!” she said quickly before hanging up. Then she dialed Kourtney’s number as fast as the Flash would.

“Kourtney, you Modafucker! I know you don’t like watching TV, but switch it on. Switch on your TV right now!”

“TF… Lil. You’re screaming my whole house down. Calm down. What’s happening on TV anyway? Is it a new Korean Series?”

“Damn it, Kourtney. This is real life right now, not a K-Drama. Your handsome hunk of a husband is currently having a live interview. Girl, turn it on!”

The next second, Kourtney found herself rushing to get her remote control, and then she switched on her bedroom TV. The first thing that appeared before her was the sight of Sebastian’s chiseled face, looking so bright and attractive.

His eyes were sparkling with adoration, and he cleared his throat while everyone, including Kourtney, held their breath, waiting for him to speak!
