Chapter 464
Chapter 464
Valerie and Pedro's faces suddenly blanched. Eyes widened, they stared at the nurse and said, "What
did you say? Her blood type doesn't match ours?"
For a moment, the nurse was unsure. She looked at them and said, "Don't worry. Maybe it's the
hospital's mistake. Anyhow, who here has type B blood? The blood bank is running low on it. We'll
need 200 cc of blood."
Hendrix looked at the nurse and said, "Use mine!"
The nurse brought Hendrix to take his blood. Valerie looked at Pedro, her mind a scattered mess. She
muttered to herself, "The DNA result states that she's my daughter. So, how could this be?"
Pedro frowned but didn't speak. He paused before saying, "Don't worry. It might have been the
hospital's mistake."
Valerie nodded repeatedly, her face was already a little flushed. Over and over again, she said,
"Andrea is our daughter. I couldn't have made a mistake."
Andrea was their daughter who they had been searching high and low for. If she was not Valerie's
biological daughter, then where was her biological daughter?
She had committed a great deal of evil things for Andrea's sake. Thus, it would be a shame if she
found out that Andrea was not her biological child in the end.
Hendrix returned soon after. He saw that I was still sitting in the chair, motionless. He walked over, took
me into his arms, and said, "It's alright. The doctor said that there are no life- threatening injuries,
everything will be okay."
These words were said clearly to comfort me. I pursed my lips and gave no response.
Half an hour later, both Josiah and Austin arrived. It seemed they had gathered what had happened.
Austin looked at me, and his gaze was a little dreary. But since Hendrix was there, he only glanced at
me and didn't say anything.
Josiah looked at Hendrix with raised brows. "The surgery is going to take a while. Care for a smoke?"
Hendrix looked up at him. After nodding, the two of them stood up and walked up the stairs.
Valerie and Pedro had been in the blood testing center for a while now.
Austin looked at me, his face blank and void of emotions. "You may need to fix this with your life now.
Any thoughts of what you want to do from here on out?"
I looked up at him, my gaze leaking icy mist. "I thought you liked her, but now it looks to be otherwise.
She's still fighting for her life, yet you're already cursing me over her death."
Stunned for a moment, he wanted to refute but I had no interest in saying any more to him.
I got up and went straight for the washroom. When I passed the corridor, my pace slowed. Hendrix and
Josiah were smoking inside.
They said they had gone to smoke when in fact, they had something to talk about between themselves.
I didn't get close. I only paused for a moment and heard Josiah's cold voice from the corridor. "Do you
regret it?"
Hendrix held the cigarette butt between his long fingers. His gaze was indifferent as he said, "There's
nothing to regret."
Josiah couldn't help but laugh. "What are you going to do if Andrea really dies?"
"Compensate for it!" Hendrix spat.
Josiah snorted. "What? One death isn't enough for you, so both of them have to die? I can't believe
you're still thinking this way even though the two women who love you are about to die." Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
I wasn't interested in listening any further. To put it bluntly, I shouldn't have eavesdropped. Even though
I knew what was going to happen, I still came to see it, to hear it myself. In the end, this only deepened
my sorrow.
I went straight to the bathroom. When I came out, Andrea had been transferred to the general ward.
Andrea woke up after the anesthetic wore off. Her face was pale as she laid in bed, dazed.
Seeing that both Valerie and Pedro were here, she asked in a low and hoarse voice, "Mom, Dad, why
am I here?"
Valerie said, "You got hurt. Mr. Roberts sent you here."
Andrea blanked out for a moment, probably recalling prior events.
Her gaze darted around in the ward and when it landed on Hendrix, her eyes suddenly turned red. She
looked at Hendrix and said, her voice breaking, "Hendrix, it hurts!"
Tears welled out of her eyes as she spoke. She stretched out her hand to grab at Hendrix. However,
her movement tugged at her wound, and the pain was so great that she let out a long hiss.
Hendrix stepped forward and helped support her. He narrowed his eyes and said, "You just came out of
surgery. Don't get so worked up!"
Andrea grabbed him, her baleful glare directed at me. She said, "Hendrix, it was Arianna. She wants to
kill me, she wants to kill me. This woman is terrifying. You can't be with her. She's too terrifying."
