Chapter 450
Chapter 450
"It's you who got him caught, not me. Why would he want to take revenge on me for?" It was really
unpleasant not being able to finish all the food.
He was speechless, "Have you forgotten that you're also an accomplice?"
"But am I the mastermind?"
He shook his head.
I shrugged and said innocently, "In that case, it has nothing to do with me."
After a few bites, I lost my appetite. "It's getting late, I'm heading back. Please let me know when the
interrogation result comes out."
He clicked his tongue and did not lose his temper with me. "Why, are you leaving me to clean up this
mess?"
I looked at him. "Am I supposed to clean it up, then?"
He put on a fake smile. "It truly is difficult dealing with uncultured people. Arianna, you're much more
vindictive than I pegged you to be."
I didn't respond. I had nothing else to say, so I stood up and got ready to leave.
He followed me out of the restaurant and asked, "Aren't you going to talk to Hendrix about Michael?"
I shook my head and searched my bag for my car keys. "There's no need to because this has been
settled. You should find a way to get some dirt on Valerie from Michael; the sooner, the better."
I had planned to slowly bring Valerie down to her knees, but the situation had changed and those cards
may no longer be on the table.
When it came to Josiah and Hendrix, I was implicated in a lot of what was happening between them;
even Monique was dragged into this. While Monique still didn't know anything about this, I wanted to
finish this up as soon as possible, and look into her relationship with Josiah.
He nodded, folded his arms, and said, "That should be a walk in the park, but don't you think it's a little
boring undoing the plans you've laid out?"
Boring?
"I have other things to do!" It was pointless wasting so much time on Valerie. After all, she was already
like a cat on a hot tin roof. How incredibly exciting this was!
I finally found my keys and opened the car door. I turned to him briefly and said, "We'll keep in touch.
Bye!"
However, he quickly stood in my way. "How far are you going to go with this whole Valerie thing?"
"Can't I get what I want?" I didn't ask for anything else. I just wanted her to personally experience the
pain of losing a child.
He frowned and looked at me after thinking for a while, "If you regret this one day, don't blame me for
being too harsh."
I rolled my eyes at him and said gruffly, "If I regret it, that means she will too. I can't believe you would
say something so dumb. I'm going, see you next time!"
I pulled away from him, got in the car, and headed straight back to the villa.
Since I was on my period, I felt incredibly beat. I fell asleep not long after returning to the villa.
But it didn't take long for me to be woken up. My stomach was in so much pain that I could barely
breathe. The noise downstairs didn't make it any easier to be less annoyed.
Five minutes later, the voices downstairs still rambled on. I had no choice but to get up and go
downstairs.
Standing at the bottom of the stairs was Andrea in a camel- colored coat completely soaked by the
rain. Her hair was wet and her face, which had always boasted such exquisite features, looked a little
gaunt and embarrassed.
When she noticed me, she pushed Minnie aside, who had been standing in her way, and ran up the
stairs. She grabbed me by the arm and said angrily, "Arianna, you did it, didn't you?"
I was in a daze from having just woken up from sleep and I didn't know what was going on at all. After
a pause, I looked at her and said through squinted eyes, "Miss Burton, when you express yourself,
please say it in a language that normal people can understand, okay?"
Her bloodshot eyes widened as she pulled at my clothes. It looked like she was on the verge of falling
apart, or exploding right in front of me. "Arianna, don't play dumb. You're the one who framed my
mother, aren't you?"
Oh, so this was what the commotion was about. I found this rather funny. "Frame?" An ache swelled in
my stomach; it wasn't lifethreatening, but it did make me highly uncomfortable. "Did you actually finish
elementary school, Miss Burton? Do you need me to explain the meaning of the word
'frame'? Do you really think your mother has been framed?" © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
"Why are you doing this? Why are you always targeting me? You've already stolen Hendrix from me. I
finally have parents and a place to call home, but you just took that away from me too. Arianna, what
grudge do you have against me to be treating me like this?"
