My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 444

Chapter 444

Hendrix frowned and said in an unpleasant tone, "She's my wife!" Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Andrea sneered. "So what? You're going to let her do whatever she wants just because she's your

wife?"

I snorted, "Miss Burton, you could write a book with all the ways you're using your brother's name to

your advantage. I don't care why this kind of inhumane rule was set in the past, but Miss Burton, please

spare it some thought. You were all in your 20s at the time, so making such an impulsive rule at that

age is understandable, but do you really think that rule is still applicable now?"

"Don't you know they're all in their thirties? Even if they were in good health, downing ten glasses of

wine can't be good for the body. What's more, they've been staying up late and going on business trips

lately. They're so busy with their business that they're on the verge of collapsing. Are you making them

drink like this because you want Mr. Shelley to end up like your brother? Sacrificing his life to honor

your so-called friendship?"

Andrea's face was flushed red with guilt and embarrassment. She glared at me and said angrily, "You

snake. You're the one who won't accept Austin's apology out of arrogance. That's why you're leaving."

Sometimes I couldn't help but wonder about Andrea's IQ, and feel how much it was akin to that of a

five-year-old. Her brain was simply wired like a child's.

I looked at her, paused, and then turned to Austin to say, "Mr. Shelley, to be honest, you're a good man

who knows between right and wrong. Hendrix and I are husband and wife. He treats you like family,

and so do I. I won't let some minor unpleasantries get in the way of our relationship, nor will I let it affect

you and Hendrix's brotherly relationship. I've accepted your apology, and you don't have to drink

because you're family and I don't want you to lose your life over your so-called rules." After that, I took

Hendrix's hand and immediately left the private room.

But as soon as we got to the car, I instantly let go of Hendrix's hand and glared at him, "Did you bring

me here to make me upset on purpose?"

If I had known that Andrea was here, I wouldn't have come. I didn't want to lose my temper for no

reason.

He pursed his lips and looked at me with a tinge of annoyance on his face. "I was with you this whole

time. Do you think I would have deliberately invited her?"

I was so furious that I turned to him and said, "Walk home yourself!"

After that, I got in the car, started the engine and left without saying another word to Hendrix.

In the rearview mirror, I saw him place his hand on his forehead, not knowing whether to laugh or cry at

the situation before him.

Meanwhile, at the villa.

As soon as I got out of the car, I saw Nerissa standing by the door in a long gown. She looked behind

me and saw that Hendrix wasn't there.

She asked, "Are you free? Let's talk."

I shrugged, "About what?"

"You and I!"

Amused by that, I said, "Isn't Andrea already enough company for you?"

She frowned and said blandly, "I just want to do something that is beneficial to the both of us. Then,

we'd have better days ahead and I won't interfere with your marriage or your family."

"So? If I don't agree to cooperate with you, are you going to break my marriage and family up?" I

walked right past her and into the main hall. I noticed that Minnie and Heather were not around, so she

must have planned this in advance.

She stroked her soft hair and said lazily, "Let's talk about how we can be allies. To be honest, I don't

like Andrea. I'd rather be friends with you than enemies."

I pursed my lips and said with a faint smile on my face, "Friends? Forget it. Mr. Roberts has eyes

everywhere. I'm not really friendmaterial to you."

Nothing was more terrifying than befriending people who only prioritized their self-interest.

She raised her eyebrows, "This is just human nature. When you get to my age, you might understand

where I'm coming from."

In another ten years?

I smiled, looking at her. "It's not my place to intervene in the business of the Grangers. Even if Charles

recognizes me as his goddaughter, I can't say anything to that. After all, this was all Master Miller's

idea. If the tragedy that has befallen on the Granger family has nothing to do with you, then I don't think

it's necessary for you to panic. Once this period of time passes, you can still return to the Granger

Group to continue being the

chairman."

She narrowed her eyes and her face darkened, "So, are you not going to become allies with me?"
