Chapter 435
Chapter 435
Nerissa had said this mainly for Hendrix's benefit.
He narrowed his gaze and looked back at me, asking, "What do you think of having a guest stay in our
home?"
I frowned and answered irritably, "What does it have to do with me?"
After that, I was ready to head upstairs, but he grabbed my hand. He lowered his voice and said, "Tell
the driver to send Miss Burton back shortly!"
Nerissa was a little unhappy. Her face turned cold as she scolded, "You brat, why are you becoming
less and less cordial? Do you know how cold it is outside? I can't believe you're letting a girl go home
by herself. This house is so big, don't tell me you don't have a single room for her. Besides, my place is
empty. I want her to stay and accompany me. I don't want to be alone at night."
Seeing that Hendrix's expression had darkened, Andrea took the initiative to speak. "Hendrix, Aunt
Nerissa has gone through so much recently. I want to stay and talk to her too. Don't worry, I won't
disturb you and Arianna. I just want to talk with Aunt Nerissa so that she won't be so lonely."
Tsk, tsk!
What a truly ideal, considerate woman!
Hendrix frowned and was slightly displeased. However, Nerissa had already put forward her request,
so he couldn't find a reason to reject her.
He held me and uttered plainly, "Do whatever you want."
Pulling me upstairs, he looked at me and asked, "Are you angry?"
I paused for a moment before I shook my head and remained silent. I promptly entered the bathroom
after that, feeling a little tired.
Nerissa had brought Andrea here so openly and blatantly, and it was obvious that she wanted to
threaten me. NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
She did not know much about what happened between Hendrix and Andrea. As a married woman,
what I feared most was the presence of a mistress having an ambiguous relationship with my husband
under my nose. Nerissa really knew how to read people. If not, how would she have come up with this
idea?
However, she seemed to have overestimated Hendrix's place in my heart. If Hendrix was still friends
with Andrea, I would just let her have him. The way I saw it, this was a convenient way to deal with
Valerie.
After staying in the bathroom for a long time, Hendrix thought that I'd fallen asleep. He knocked on the
bathroom door a few times to urge me on.
After drying my hair and walking out of the bathroom, Hendrix gazed at me with a slight frown and
asked, "Were you hiding in the bathroom because you don't want to see me?"
I sneered and replied, "You have a great imagination, Mr. Roberts."
He pursed his lips, squinted his eyes, and said, "Dry your hair. Don't leave it wet, or you'll catch a cold."
He then went into the bathroom.
Soon after, the phone rang and I picked up the call from Aaron. Before I could say anything, he said,
"I've already sent people to keep an eye on her. But Nerissa is right under your nose, isn't she? Instead
of having me watch her, you might as well do it yourself."
I nodded and replied wearily, "She just came over. Also, I just sent you some information. It's in your
inbox. Take a closer look and see if you can let Uncle Charles use it."
"It should work!" He tutted, and then added, "You've managed to do quite well for yourself, haven't you?
Did Hendrix help you out?"
"No!" I had nothing good to say to that, and it was getting late as well. I responded wearily, "It's really
late. Say hello to Uncle Charles for me. Talk to you later!"
However, Aaron hurriedly asked, "Arianna, have you been feeling anything unusual lately?"
I was a little surprised by his abrupt question. "No. What's the matter?"
He replied, "I received a medical record of your depression. It's pretty serious. Are you all right after
what happened to Irvin?"
