My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 413

Chapter 413

"Okay!" After that, Hendrix hung up the phone.

I pulled the comforter over me and couldn't see what Hendrix was doing. After a while, he turned off the

lights and laid in bed.

He pulled the comforter wrapped around me and said, "Arianna, it's winter now. Winter in Jarold City is

incomparable to Ucrebury. If you really don't share it, you would have to call for an ambulance for me

tomorrow morning."

As he spoke, he stopped tugging and lay down beside me quietly.

Listening to the shallow breathing sounds, thinking that he should be asleep, I couldn't help but to

stretch out my head from under the comforter. Under the dim light, I saw that most of his body was

exposed.

Usually, he would wear pajamas, and it was obvious that he was deliberately exposed today.

After a long time, the skin on my body was a little cold. Seeing that he was sleeping soundly, I couldn't

help but to place the comforter over his body.

Suddenly, my hand was grabbed, and he took the opportunity to get into bed. He held me in his arms.

The cold air engulfed my body.

"So, you're still worried that I might get frostbite, aren't you?"

I was so angry that I only wanted to kick him with my foot, but his speed was fast enough to hold me

down. "Your foot is still injured. Don't move too much."

"Hendrix, you b*stard!" I couldn't help but to curse. I pursed my lips and looked at him as if I had been Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

wronged.

He pulled me into his arms and whispered, "Austin didn't mean it. I am sorry for not handling it well. I

should have announced it properly. But I've just had some roots in Jarold City. There are a lot of things

in my company and there are a lot of people who want a slice of the pie in Jarold City. If someone

wants to take advantage of me, I'm afraid that I won't be able to protect you."

He sighed slightly and held me tightly in his arms.

I pursed my lips and couldn't say anything for a moment. I knew that he had too many difficulties, so I

never forced him.

This sleep was extremely good. When I woke up the next day, the sun was shining after a few days of

downpour in Jarold City.

Hendrix was not in the bedroom. I moved a little, and I could feel some pain in my ankles. I got up and

went to wash up.

Minnie brought the breakfast upstairs, followed by two people, Hendrix and Josiah.

Seeing that I was awake, Minnie placed the breakfast on the bedside table and said, "It's a nice day. It

seems like it's going to snow in a few days. Arianna, freshen up. I'll accompany you downstairs to look

at the newly bloomed plum blossoms in the courtyard after breakfast. It has been blossoming since

yesterday. It's beautiful."

I was stunned. Ucrebury didn't have plum blossoms and it was rare to snow too. Listening to her words,

it would snow in a few days. I started smiling, "Well, okay!"

Minnie went downstairs. Hendrix instructed Josiah to check on my sprained ankle.

"It's a ligament sprain. Take some medication and you'll be alright after a few days of rest," Josiah said

as he took off the plastic gloves and threw them into the trash can.

Hendrix nodded and looked at me. "Have breakfast and rest for a while. I'll go into the study room with

Josiah to talk about something. Give me a call if you need me, okay?"

I nodded and seemed to be a little more obedient.

He and Josiah walked out of the bedroom. I had just woken up and hadn't washed up yet. I couldn't

help but to move my body and get off the bed to wash up.

After all, it goes by the saying that rest is needed for the bone and tendons to heal. As soon as my feet

touched the ground, I felt a sharp pain that made me take a cold breath. Fortunately, I adapted after a

few steps.

After a quick wash, I went back to the bedside. I couldn't help but to gasp. I overestimated myself too

much. Seems like it would be impossible to go to the office today.
