My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 353

Chapter 353

Standing not far away was Andrea. As usual, she had a look of disdain on her face. She looked at me

coldly and scorned. "Ugh, why is it so easy to meet someone you hate these days?"

I shrugged. "What a coincidence. It's the same for me as well!"

"You..." I wasn't as good as Andrea at fake crying or speaking in a cutesy manner but I knew how to

fight back with my words when needed.

Valerie immediately came to Andrea's aid seeing that she was at a disadvantage. Valerie's face was

edged with a hard coldness as she spoke, "Miss Reid, you look even more stunning than ever. Even

the way you speak is imposing and high and mighty."

I laughed and said, "I think Miss Burton could say the same for herself."

"Arianna Reid, stop gloating over yourself. Do you think that you're so great? You're just a girl who got

lucky and that is the only reason why your sorry fate changed!"

Wow, Andrea's mouth really doesn't filter words at all. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

I smiled faintly and said indifferently, "That's true. But it is also true that if you're rotten to your bones.

No matter how wealthy you are, you still won't be able to change the fact that you're rotten. Am I right,

Madam Lawson?"

Everyone heard the hidden meaning behind my words. Valerie's face darkened as she caught the

meaning. With a sound of warning, she said, "Miss Reid, sometimes it isn't good for people to be too

proud or vain."

I nodded in agreement to her words. Just then, Nerissa, who was at the cafe, walked over.

Staring at Andrea's bulging stomach, I raised my voice and asked, "I heard that the baby in your belly is

my husband Hendrix's. Is it true?" "What does that have to do with you?" An awkward expression broke

across Andrea's face." This baby is mine and Hendrix's. Even if so, what can you do about it?"

"What do you think I can do?" I found it a little funny. I couldn't help but to say with Nerissa close by,

"I'm very confused as to why or how you got pregnant. Hendrix told me that he had never once touched

you. Could it be an alien?"

Andrea's face darkened. "Arianna, what do you mean? Do you think I won't know who my child belongs

to?"

"No, of course you would know!" Seeing her panicking at my question, I was more convinced of

Aaron's words. "Of course you know who the baby belongs to. But I hope that you won't let my

husband be a dad for no reason. What about this? Why don't we get a DNA test done on your baby to

see who the child belongs to? That way we can all be reassured one way or another."

"I won't mind if Hendrix has an illegitimate child. I'm only concerned about our reputation as the

Roberts and the Reids, you see. As his wife, I think that I have the responsibility to understand and

make clear of the matter in order for it not to be muddled up."

With that, I looked at Nerissa and said with a faint smile, "Don't you think so, Aunt Nerissa?"

Nerissa was stunned by my question. Her eyes fell onto Andrea's belly. Taking account of Valerie's

feelings, she said gently, "Andrea, why don't we just go for the test? After all, Hendrix isn't sure about it

either. It would be best if we find out for sure if the child belongs to the Roberts family. If it isn't and we

assume it is, it would cause some serious trouble in the future."

I bet that Andrea probably didn't expect that I would be questioning if her baby really was Hendrix's.

Upon my questioning, she was at a loss for words and seemed a little dismayed. Looking at Nerissa,

she said, "Aunt Nerissa, this baby is really mine and Hendrix's. Taking a DNA test is a little risky as the

needle will be probing into the amniotic sac. Are you really willing to risk the life of one of Roberts'

children? Arianna is just trying to drive a wedge and make this a big matter. She's trying to take her

revenge on me."

I found her words utterly hilarious. "Why would I want to seek revenge? Why are you trying to dictate

that I would do such a thing?"
