My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2278

Chapter 2278

Since I was going into Freya's territory, of course I had to call and let her know. After hanging up on Aaron's call, I went straight to her house.

Aurelia and Wynn were at school during the day, and Aaron's family had moved to Emma's house. Hence, it was quiet at home.

Once I reached the house, I heard from the guard that Freya left in the morning and never mentioned when she would be home.

Just as I was about to call Freya, Zachary walked out of the entrance with casual clothes and a pair of scissors that were used to trim flowers and plants.

"You're looking for Freya?" Zachary's voice became more mature over the years. His tone was so gentle, and he was at the age where he had this unique and attractive charm.

Time always favoured men. The broken past seemed like it had never happened.

"Yeah." I nodded politely and looked at him from head to toe. Looking at his outfit, it seemed that he had moved in with Freya already. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

Were they planning to remarry?

It did not seem like Freya's style.

Zachary saw through my thoughts. He raised the scissors in his hand and explained, "Oliver hasn't been feeling well recently, and Freya is too busy with work. Hence, I came over to stay with him for a few days in the guest room."

It was such a short sentence but sounded as if he was trying to cut off their relationship. However, it sounded also like he was innocently showing off. Whenever Oliver was there, he could stay with

Freya for a longer time.

I had always been a person who couldn't forget things easily. Although many years have passed, I still didn't know how to get along with him. Hence, I just smiled faintly and said, "This is between the both of you. You don't need to explain anything to me. Since Freya is not here, I'll get going then."

"Do you need me to pass any messages?" Zachary was still very thoughtful. Putting aside his relationship issues, he could still be a good friend.

"It's okay. I will give her a call later. Bye."

After saying that, I got into the car and left. I waited until I was far enough and only called Freya when Zachary could no longer be seen through the rear mirror.

I called her personal number, and she picked up

really fast.

"What is it?" Freya asked bluntly.

She was used to coming straight to the point. For so many years, she was still the same. Outsiders would think she was fierce and overbearing at first. But once they got along, they would realize how comfortable it was to talk with people like her.

"Interested in watching a play tonight?" I said jokingly.

"Watch a play?" Freya did not understand what I meant. She thought for a while and said, "Are you talking about a stage play? Since when did you like watching such plays? Which one are you referring to? Let me see if I can get VIP tickets."

I was amused by her seriousness and continued saying, "It's going to be at the Golden Roof Cinema. The play will be about two siblings becoming enemies."

"Golden Roof..." Freya dumbly repeated my words, then suddenly realized after saying halfway. She raised her voice. "What? Arianna, don't tell me you are joking with me because you are too free?"

A threat between best friends was never effective, especially when I know Freya was someone softhearted. Hence, I became even more fearless and laughed out loud. "No, I was just kidding."

"It's not funny at all. It's rare for me to seriously work today. If you just want to mess around, you'd better do it another time, my dear." Freya's tone was both helpless yet loving. I was certain that even if I was just pestering her and talking nonsense, she wouldn't get angry.
