My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2076

Chapter 2076

"So you're saying that he won't be back to normal by today?" Aaron had followed into the room with his hands in his pockets. He then leaned against the door and said in a knowing tone, "What interesting timing."

At the orphanage, Aaron had a few complaints about Aurelia taking Neal home, which made people feel that Aaron was out to get him.

However, as one of the people Aurelia was closest with, even though Neal really did save her, I still felt as though Aaron had a point.

Aurelia was much more mischievous than Wynn and Anne, but she had never gone overboard. This whole drowning incident was very odd.

So, even though things felt pretty stiff after he said this, no one spoke out against it.

After a while, Doctor Aldred broke the silence.

"Well, that's basically it. In addition, this child has signs of malnutrition. During his period of recuperation, it's best to take care of his body. Otherwise, it will affect his overall development."

"We'll keep that in mind. Thank you for your hard work today, Doctor Aldred," I said gratefully.

"Just doing my job. If that's all Mr. Roberts, I'll be heading back now."

"Sure." Hendrix replied calmly.

Doctor Aldred then left the room with the nurse.

Aside from us, the only people left in the room were Amy, her husband and Neal.

Amy and her husband were obviously curious about what Aaron had said. Their expressions changed from being delighted to that of hesitation and distress. Before we could say anything, Amy had already come forward to relieve the stiff atmosphere. "Mr. and Mrs. Roberts, since Neal needs some time to recover, maybe it's best not to stress him out any further. Why don't we come and bring him home another day?"

Women were always soft-hearted. I felt really sorry for her after seeing her expression.

Adoption was a tacit agreement

something that could change overnight Postponing a day or two wouldn't be much of a problem. We, as parents, might as well take the time during this delay to repay Neal for his kind deed.

I was about to speak up when Hendrix's deep voice said, "Will you keep your word?"NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.

He had directed this question at Neal. It was obvious that the decision of sending him away wasn't going to change.

Men were always more assertive and they were able to stay strong when faced with such a sad looking child. If it were me, I wouldn't have been able to say anything.

I guess this was the reason why people with opposing personalities have to work together to complement each other. In life, some things just couldn't be handled properly by yourself.

The bedroom fell into pin- drop silence. Maybe they were taken aback by Hendrix's indifference, or maybe they were waiting for Neal's response. The only sound in the room was from Neal's breathing.

Aurelia didn't know about our arrangements with Neal. She thought that Hendrix was trying to test Neal's resilience. She naively clapped her hands and cheered for him instead. "Neal, Neal, daddy is asking if you can get up and play with me. Come on, get up. You're the best. I'm rooting for you!" "Content

In contrast to the indifference of adults and the innocence of children seemed horribly unkind. What was more depressing was how everyone chose not to burst the bubble.

Hendrix's eyes were cold and emotionless. There wasn't a trace of sympathy or weakness in them. He looked at Neal, who wasn't moving. He stood rather imposingly.

Neal looked at him in confusion for a few seconds before he gave in. He lifted up the quilt, got out of bed and stood up without any help.

"I'm fine, sir." Neal looked up at Hendrix. "The butler has already told me about this arrangement this morning. I'll go with them."

"Neal, where are you going?" Aurelia asked innocently.
