My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2068

Chapter 2068

Two days later.

The plan for the day was to meet the couple who wanted to adopt Neal, but one of Hendrix's men suddenly came forward and informed us that Suanne had attempted to take her own life and was close to dying. We had to reschedule the meeting for another time.

When we arrived at the basement, we saw the wound on Suanne's head which had been heavily bandaged. She was wrapped in thick gauze, but there was still blood leaking out.

She no longer looked as dignified as she used to be with her messy hair draped over her shoulders. She was laid on the floor like a dying beggar, the top half of her body was leaning against the wall.

Nathan was still bound to the chair. There was a tube hanging above his face. The water was dripping much faster now. The water droplets were hitting his face so often that he couldn't keep his eyes open.

Suanne struggled to open her eyes. The moment she saw us, she dragged her lower body forward and pounced at us.

I was caught off guard by her sudden movement and staggered backwards. Hendrix stepped forward and stood in front of me. Suanne grabbed his calves and pleaded.

"Hendrix, my son. Please, let me drink some water. I haven't had water for days. Have pity on your poor mother..."

Her unkempt appearance and inaudible murmurings were worse than a beggar.

The memory of my first meeting with Suanne flashed across my mind. She had been a real beauty with a youthful face that was known to cause others to stare in awe.

Her face now, however, which required special care that would easily cost tens of thousands of dollars, was covered in wrinkles. Her eyes looked dead inside. She looked like she had aged considerably and was miserable.

It was very hard not to feel compassionate for an elderly person who looked as miserable and pathetic as she did.

Hendrix, however, scoffed sarcastically. He lifted his foot, kicked her away, and walked towards Nathan, who was still suffering from the dripping water.

Not giving up, Suanne scrambled over to plead for mercy, but was held down by the bodyguards next to me. Only then was I able to keep up with

Hendrix.

Nathan, who was a mentally strong person, must be trying very hard to hold on. I was afraid that Hendrix would not get the outcome he wanted.

I had, however, underestimated the horror of this torture. It was so powerful that it could destroy a person's will.

As I approached Nathan, I leaned over, only to see that his eyes were wide open in terror.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

My heart skipped a beat as I placed my hand on my chest. I tried to keep calm.

I wasn't sure if it was because of the

constant dripping of water on his face, but his eyes couldn't stay shut as he had been soaked in water for a very long time. His face looked.

swollen. What was most chilling to see was that his eyes were directly centered on the spot where the water kept dropping on him. He was so utterly terrified of it that he didn't even notice me or Hendrix.

Seeing his face so horrifically entranced, I moved back and shrunk away.

Hendrix looked at him coldly. He

lowered his gaze and said indifferently, "Nathan, you still

stubbornly pretend to be ignorant of the truth. Even after the fact that we now that you've killed the Roberts family, the people who raise@me, you still haven't said a word... Do you truly still see yourself as a good mother and wife?"

He glared at Nathan, who was bound onto the chair, but these words were meant for Suanne.

Hendrix was right. From a legal standpoint, she would be charged for these crimes even though she wasn't directly involved.

As Nathan's wife, Suanne had

countless opportunities to get him back on the right track. Even if her efforts were trivial, she could have stopped him from hurting innocent lives. She, however, did nothing, She turned a deaf ear to everyone and everything Nathan had wreaked havoc on. Instead, she allowed him to go on a rampage and destroy humanity. She didn't do anything but, at the same time, was responsible for everything.
