My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2059

Chapter 2059

While he said this, Hendrix's face was blank. All Aurelia saw was his emotionless face. He was indifferent and couldn't be offended.

Aurelia knew he wasn't in a great mood. Given the current situation, it was inappropriate for them to speak against him. Aurelia nodded and mumbled, "I understand."

"Let's go home," Hendrix said.

With that, he turned around and walked towards us. He was ready to leave and allowed the children to walk ahead.

Wynn always obeyed Hendrix's instructions. He walked out without hesitating while Aurelia followed him closely from behind.

After taking two steps forward, Aurelia stopped in her tracks and looked back at the thin boy, she was unwilling to leave.

Hendrix followed her gaze and thought for a moment before lowering his head to ask, "Do you want to take him with us?"

Aurelia pursed her lips and furrowed her brows. Staring at the boy, she mumbled, "He's so thin. If he stays here, he won't be able to eat well. Aunt Emma once said that orphans had things the hardest. I want to help him..."

She very carefully said that last sentence, she was afraid of offending Hendrix.

Aaron had probably taught her that she shouldn't be unreasonable during certain occasions. Even though she was unwilling to leave, she wouldn't act spoiled like she was at home.

Hendrix had always been a man of his word. I thought that he would not allow for any exceptions, but he was unexpectedly compassionate. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

Without giving Aurelia a response, he stepped forward and looked directly in front of him, speaking softly but also with a dangerous tone, "Come here."

He was talking directly to the boy.

The boy walked over from the second row to the front of the children.

Without the other children blocking him, we could see how thin he was under his clothes and he was already dressed in the smallest set of clothes as it was. When the wind blew, s sleeves would sway about. I was worried that he might get blown away if the winds blew stronger.

We as adults couldn't bear to see him in such a state. No wonder Aurelia couldn't help showing him some kindness.

In front of Hendrix, the boy looked feeble and weak, like a tree in the front of a giant mountain.

"Come with me. The Roberts family

will be willing to support you. You'll attend the same school with Aurelia and protect her, placing her life above all else. Or you can stay here, and the Roberts will sponsor you. You will have to seek out your own way to survive. Choose."

Hendrix was as calm as ever. He wasn't making any expectations or giving any favors, just as he was with business.

As soon as he said that, the boy answered, "I'll go with you."

Without waiting for Hendrix to give him any orders, he walked over to Aurelia and imitated Evan. He kept his head down, bent his body

slightly, and extended his hand ne

forward to lead the way. He

said

with a voice devoid of emotions,

"Miss, after you."

Aurelia instantly cracked into a smile. She wasn't in a hurry to get to know him. She sprung forward cheerfully and caught up with Wynn.

The boy followed at the end of the line taking very small steps. He was being very careful.

As we watched the children walking under the dim streetlights, Aaron pocketed his hands and seemed to be lost in thought as he pondered out loud, "Are we going to keep this child? We don't know anything about him."

"What were we to do now that Aurelia likes him?" Emma chimed in, "Don't just stand there spouting nonsense. If it were you, the result would have been the same, wouldn't it?"

Aaron was embarrassed. He clicked his tongue and held out his arms. "We're talking about the kid! Why are you making fun of me? I'm innocent here..."

Emma cast him a sideways glance and didn't respond.

Those two were going to be enemies for life.
