As soon as Jordan said that, Aaron returned from his call and nodded at him politely.

Aaron wagged his phone at me and said with a worried look on his face, "Uncle Charles has just arrived with Mr. Moore and Madam Lawson."'

After a moment of silence, I was puzzled, "Why so suddenly? Wouldn't it be tiring for them to have rushed their journey? Why didn't you stop them?" I glanced over, waiting for Jordan's reaction. As expected, he took the bait.

Jordan interrupted with a smile, "Have your inlaws returned? What great news, we haven't seen each other in so many years. When are they arriving? Let me arrange dinner for both of our families."

"I don't think that'll be necessary." Aaron refused bluntly, "Hendrix and Wynn will be returning to Mesville with us, then we won't have to see each other anymore. I don't see the need for putting on a show for a reunion."

Although we had prepared for this, I couldn't help but gasp at Aaron's reply.

Aaron was always very up-front regardless of who he was talking to. When he refused so bluntly, things very quickly became tense and awkward. Aaron was stunned for a moment then turned towards me. A waiter happened to pass by, so he reached out for a glass of champagne, took sip, and leisurely replied, "Don't worry. He wouldn't be so relaxed if he had discovered our plan."
